REVELATIONS
“What are they doing to Sydney?” Mandy cried.
“I don’t know.” Annie worked furiously on the lock.
Despite the chill in the air, sweat trickled down her face and burned her eyes. Three pins set. Four. Five. When it felt like the sixth one caught, she put more pressure on the improvised tensioner. To her surprise, the cylinder turned.
For a moment, she simply stared at the lock. “I…I did it.”
She leapt to her feet and opened the door. “Come on. Let’s get out of here.”
No sooner had she stepped into the dark hallway when several silhouetted figures appeared near the cabin’s front door.
“Get out of our way or we’ll kill you,” Annie shouted with as much ferocity as she could muster.
