The cops arrived twenty minutes later, followed by the feds an hour after that. Everyone was questioned, though Shea’s interview with Special Agent Obregón was not nearly as grueling as the ones she’d endured in Sedona. Just a straightforward interview without the usual jumping back and forth in the timeline to trip her up. Probably because they already knew most of what had led up to the situation.
When Shea was finally released, she met up with Toni, Annie, and the Sisterhood in the clearing.
“We tried to catch Bennett and that other puto, but they got away. Sorry, Havoc,” Fuego explained.
Shea shook her head, too exhausted to feel much of anything. “It’s okay. Annie, Megan, and the other girls are safe.”
