Jase growled darkly. They were just scratches so far they graced each other with, but they were still painful. Especially the one Jase got on his front leg. Jase knew what Beth was trying to do. He already knew her fighting technique – as well as Beth knew his. Beth cringed a bit, plastering her ears to her skull, and growled, ready to attack. It was clear for Jase what he had to do – he was stronger, and he needed a hard collision of their bodies to take Beth down. Beth was very well aware of that, though.
