Chapter 27 – Race Against Time
[Theodore’s POV]
Rowan and I stayed in the back as Sebastian led the crowd of rogues through the storm drain. We were moving at a fairly steady pace. Once this started becoming a problem with the elderly and injured, we took it upon ourselves to make sure nobody was left behind. Of the entire crowd, my Rori seemed to be the one that struggled the least. It was yet another reminder how lucky I was to have such a strong mate.
Navigating the storm drain was not as easy as I had anticipated it to be. Every few feet, we had to dodge tree roots and the fallen rubble that came with it. In addition to physical obstacles, we had to limit the sloshing of our feet to avoid drawing attention in case we were followed.
