Chapter 15 Meeting The Family

Persephone's POV

After that interesting meet up, we start to make our way onto pack lands.. I don't know where we are going because they have such a big territory.. but his friends seemed to have got over here pretty fast so that means their place is not too far away.. I don't even know what to expect.

Most fairies like me, just stay the night where they could find a safe area, which for me is mostly in the trees after everything that has happened with my family being ambushed time and time again.

I start to feel the pace of my heart quicken at the thought of walking into the wolves den just plating myself up for anyone to have, if they wanted. I just have to hope and pray that my mate doesn't have any ill intentions for me.. I have to trust him more than I already have which seems to be very hard for me. I'm scared honestly.

I'm skeptical when it comes to anyone because I have had plenty of people try to fool me into coming with them and it always exploded in both of our faces.. So I'm taking this leap of faith for my mate and hoping for the best. Because I could really see the best intentions when it comes to him.. he is something special and I feel so different around him than with anyone else.. That has to mean something right?

I think he can tell I'm nervous as he quickly wraps my hand up in his tight comforting grip. I can feel his thumb rubbing across the back of my hand and it's actually starting to calm me down more than I thought it would. We make it beyond the hill as the property really comes into sight.

We start to see a huge house that is surrounded by more houses. I never knew so many beautiful houses existed over here.. they are made from so much Adobe and huge shaped out rocks. I never knew they could get so big and unique.. These houses are a sight to behold.

"Wow.. your houses are gorgeous." I say to him so softly not even knowing if he could hear me.. But he did as he smiles my way. "We made them all by hand for our pack. We continue to add more and more because our pack keeps getting bigger by the year!" He declares with so much pride making me smile.

"So Theo did anything happen while I was gone?" I hear him ask the Beta to his right as I still hold his hand on his left. "No nothing exciting, just a couple Cyclops but probably looking for their brother and had a dealing with some vampires and ogres.. you know the usual." He declares as they continue to walk.

My gaze trails from the gorgeous property that's barely seen now because of the light almost being completely gone. There is still just enough to see the outline of the house.. but I continue to look around before all of it is covered in darkness.

I feel as if I'm being stared at as the guys chatter back and forth between each other. My eyes glide around as I see his little brother staring at me intently again. He winks at me as I blush and look away. He is good looking for sure and obviously doesn't know how to take no for an answer.. Maybe just liking the chasing game, but I'm not playing and I'm with his brother so there is no way I'm messing this amazing pairing up. I can still feel his eyes on me as I glance over at him again as he smiles bigger but I just roll my eyes at him looking back at my mate. I wrap my arm around his as I hold his hand tighter.

But this gesture gets his attention completely. He sends his gold melting, bright smile my way, just squeezing my hand tighter. Before bringing it up to his lips and kissing the back of it. This action plasters a smile across my face I never even knew I had. I see him glance up then double take at something behind me.

"Dan.. stop freaking her out.. she doesn't want you.. leave her alone, she is mine." Jayce says with so much possessiveness in his voice that I smile bigger just at that thought. He not only wants me, but he doesn't want anyone else to have me, to the point of threatening his own brother for me.. that's sweet.. he is so protective already.

"What Jay? You might mess things up because it's not like you're known for having lots of relationships.. So if you screw this up with this gorgeous being, then I'll be right here to make sure she is alright.. Being the support she needs.. without hesitation." He states winking at me as I shake my head looking away once more. I don't want Jayce to think that I'm even remotely interested in his brother. It doesn't matter how good looking he is, I still don't want him.. he is not worth the risk of losing the one I'm meant to be with.

"Don't worry he won't screw this up.. he has done so much for me already.. being a great mate and even saving me multiple times." I say to him so sweetly, but just staring up into Jayce's eyes. He chuckles at that as he declares in response, "But you also saved me just as many times my love.. So that must mean that we are the perfect team then." I smile and nod, agreeing with him, then leaning over on his shoulder as we continue getting closer to the houses.

"What did you guys do to save each other?" Drew asks us as I just wait for Jayce to answer this one. "Oh man we will have to have a seat to explain that.. It's a long story but she has already taught me so much, than saved me and I will never forget that either.. Maybe I can tell you all about it tonight over dinner or tomorrow." He declares to him as they nod in approval.

We start circling around to the back of the house that's in the muddle of the rest. We get closer as I can see a group of people waiting for us to arrive.. I'm assuming it's his family.

As we get about 10 feet or so to the family members we slow down. I observe them bow as a younger shewolf runs over to us just crashing into Jayce. He chuckles at that action as he turns to me and says, "Rox this is my mate Persephone. Percy this is my youngest sister Roxie." He explains to me as I smile at her and she does the same, colliding her body with mine in such an excited embrace that I can barely breathe she is squeezing me so tight.

"Jay I missed you but I'm happy you got your mate! You're absolutely stunning Percy!" She exclaims causing a big smirk to curl across my face. "Thank you Roxie.. that's sweet of you." I say to her as she hugs me again then separating.

"You also already met my brother, sister and my Beta and Gamma.. but you haven't got to meet my older sister Leanne, My mother Isabella and my Father Fredrick.. everyone this is my mate, Persephone." Jayce announces for the rest of them to hear as I just shyly wave.

Leanne is looking up and down like she doesn't trust me which is understandable.. but she has a look telling me this is a waste of her time just being here. Isabella is the one to step forward as she opens her arms to me wide. She latches me into her clutches squeezing me so tight.. tighter than her daughter just did and I never thought that was possible.

"It's such a pleasure to have a beautiful light creature such as yourself in our home.. I'm so excited to get to know you! I have so many questions about faes and what you do! So let me know when you have the energy to answer my questions and we can go for a walk around the property together to talk!" She exclaims to me as I smile and nod. "Of course that sounds like a lovely idea." I agree with her as she gives me one last squeeze before stepping back with a huge smile across her face almost matching mine.

"So are we all just going to pretend that this is ok? That letting this strange creature, we don't know anything about, into our pack, with no questions asked, is fine?? I know she is a light fae but light creatures have been known to cause chaos.. If not created by them with good intentions that doesn't work out.. then by others.. If anyone heard that our next Luna is a light Fae they will come for her and attacking us just to get to her.. Do you want any of our people to be in danger for this strange creature? I know I don't.. I think this is foolish.. she is not one of us so why should we protect her." Leanne yells about me as she glares my way and just turning around to head back inside. I swallow the lump in my throat not knowing what to say in response to that.

I look up locking my gaze with his father Fredrick's, I can feel the nervousness hitting me tenfold at this point because I can't tell if he is ok with me or not. His facial expression has not faltered once since I showed up.. just the same stoic look.. just like Jayce had warned me.

I watch Fredrick step forward closer to me but I just freeze in my spot as my heart begins to race. "Don't mind my daughter.. She has a big heart, she just cares so much for our pack and would die before letting anyone hurt them. It's a good quality, but she can sometimes seem closed minded just sticking to our old ways.. but not everything new is bad and I hope for your sake you're one of them. Welcome Persephone." He calmly says to me as I just bow out of respect for him. I glance up to see him bow back at me so I stand straight up.

"Well, I will do my best.. I just hope my best is good enough." I shyly say to him as he quickly responds. "If my son says you're good enough then I believe you are.. As long as you take care of him. That's what matters most to me."

"Well this will be new for all of us, but doesn't mean it's a bad thing. I always love trying something new." Daniel states as he pulls me in for a hug creating a deep in the chest rumbling growl from my mate, who doesn't like his little brother hitting on me understandably.

"Daniel.." Fredrick warns his son as Daniel steps back from me. "What dad? I'm just making sure she feels welcomed.. You're welcome with me anytime.. just call." He lets me go as he starts to walk in with a Beta and Gamma rolling their eyes headed in right after him.

"Are you hungry? We can prepare something for you both." His mother exclaims to us but I don't know what to say. I'm hungry for sure but I don't want to be a bother because I already feel in the way.

"Mother I would love it if we can get something to eat please.. I'm starving and she has done so much today with me, so I bet she is starving as well.. thank you." Jayce states so politely then glancing down at me as I softly respond. "I don't want to be an inconvenience though."

"Oh you're not at all! Come on and I'll make you both something special, since everyone else has already ate." His mother Isabella exclaims to us as I smile and respond. "Thank you Isabella that very kind of you."

She waves off my comment replying, "Call me Belle! Can I call you Percy?" She asks as I just smile and nod as she matches my smile then leads us into the house.
