Chapter 26 Talking Things Over

Persephone's POV

"It sounds like he is winning the pack over for you." She says as we can hear cheering erupting above us. "I hope so.. but not just for my sake for any others to not fear you all.. You do seem like such great beings and everyone is scared of you since you're what's different.. and I don't want that.. I want something to change because if not, then they will never truely accept me and everything I do, which is to help ALL beings." I reply to her as she stares at me for a moment just checking me out for whatever reason before saying. "I hope so.. and thanks for the good luck stone."

I nod before waving that off. "I have a bag filled with them.. I just really appriciated these garments.. you can tell just by the stitching, just how much time and effort you put into it.. and to let me have them is something special to me.. So thank you for helping me.. those stones are the least I could do." I reply without hesitation as she nods pulling the stone out of her pocket and looking at it.

"What did you do to get them?" She asks me curiously as I quickly reply. "I was swimming, washing myself off, when I saw blood in the water and a net in the blood. I grabbed it and pulled the netting to the shore.. but when I got it completely out of the water, I saw a mermaid was stuck in it.. but not only stuck, also stabbed by a spear. I did what I would do for anyone else. I pulled him out of the netting and had to take the spear out which took a while since he was such a big being compared to me and kept subconsciously fighting it.. but after I was able to do that I was able to heal him with a combination of my powers and enchanting a potion with my powers. So then I took care of him by the water for hours until he came back to consciousness. He was of course panicked until he realized what I was and what I did for him. So he asked me to stay in that spot and of course I did until I saw him again but not by himself this time, with others.. They talked with me for a while asking all kinds of questions about myself and the outside world.. Until it started to get dark so to say thank you and goodbye they all brought me these stones.. I found a bag to put them in to not lose them.. but they were eternally greatful that I saved their king.. who knew? But either way they gave these to me and their word that if I needed anything I can always call them." I say showing her the tiny shell that's on my necklace around my neck. She steps forward and looks at my necklace for a moment before saying under her breath. "That's amazing.. wish I could have been there.. was he handsome? How does this work?"

I shrug my shoulders.. "I haven't tried it yet just in case it actually worked.. I didn't want to alarm anyone because they made it sound like this was just for emergencies.. but I'm assuming to use it like a whistle of sorts.. but since they are mermaids I figured underwater whistle.. but who really knows... but he was very handsome and actually asked me to be with him but I don't know of anyway I can live underwater.. I don't know any spells nor any plants that can help with that.. besides ones that don't last very long.." I say shrugging my shoulders again before adding. "That's why he gave this to me. He said it doesn't matter the time of day or where I'm at, he will be there for me if I'm in the water. And if I figure out a way to stay in the water so I can survive with him, to call him.. We talked many times after, but I could never figure out a way to be with him."

She humms in response before saying, "And you got stuck with my ok looking Alpha brother when you could have had a handsome mermaid king.. I'm sorry." She says to me as we hear.

"Hey I'm not that bad." from Jayce as we smile but I blush not knowing he was there. He automatically makes me nervous just by his presence. His scent gets my heart racing, his eyes makes my heart melt and his smile always makes my knees weak.

"Not bad at all, you're perfect.. for me." I state outloud without hesitation before realizing what I said to him as I feel my face heating up at that thought. They both start laughing at my embaressment before my mate steps through the doorway towards me. He walks until he is right in front of me saying. "I was just talking about how perfect you are out there." He says leaning in and gently kissing me on my lips. I get on my toes to press into his lips more since I'm so much shorter than him but I don't care, he makes me feel tiny and every girl loves to feel like that.

Jay wraps his arms around my waist and pulling me in completely turning me on, causing him to purr more. "Sorry to interrupt you two but how did it go?!" Leeann asks with anticipation for the answer. But I'm sure she knows.

"Oh yeah I'm sorry got distracted, but yes they voted to change how we treat all beings that may come around and we will investigate any beatings that might come, no matter who it involves to solve any issues. They have agreed and want to meet you. So I came down here to get you.. where's the prophet? and what does any of this have to do with a mermaid king you could have had?!" He inquires from me as I laugh and nod.

"Well I told her how I saved a mermaid that ended up being a king and he asked me to be with him but I had no way of living underwater to be with him, so I had to say no.. but his people gave me these good luck stones that I gave her one of.. Oh and the prophet died.. he died from I'm assuming internal injuries.. he told me to not save him because he wanted to die.. he said he lived 300 years and has been waiting for this day to come since his mate died.. So his body disappeared, which is what happens to most fae when they die.. But I'm so happy to hear about your pack and them agreeing to my terms.. I would love to meet your pack now.. are you sure you're ready for this?! Once you do this, there is no getting rid of me!" I say playfully as he holds me tighter in his grip.

"I wouldn't want you any other way besides forever.. lets go meet the pack." He says to me as I smile big and prance out of the cell with him and his sister to at least say hello after this successful mission.. It's sad that the prophet died and this secret I have that's already eating me alive about his brother but this was still a step in the right direction.

We walk up the stairs as I try to fix my hair and outfit but there is not much I can do at the moment. "Dont worry about it.. You look perfect and they just want to meet you that's all." Jayce says to me as I let out a nervous breathe in response before nodding.

Drew opens the door for us as we smile and walk past him through the doorway and to outside. It's bright out here, but like before I have to just give my eyes a chance to get use to it.

I can hear the applause before my eyes have the chance to adjust. But when they do, I see row after row of wolves just smiling and applauding at us.. at me.. They go way far back that I can't even see all the faces staring at me but every now and then I see a mad looking face but not as many as I expected, which is probably great. My gaze keep bouncing from face to face until it locks up with Daniel and he just winks at me before he smirks. My face gets red as I quickly look away and to the other faces as I start to wave at them.

"Alright everyone, as I said before about my goddess given mate.. she is this absolutely stunning, light fae you see before you.. she can talk to any creature and knows lost of spells to heal and protect and has even used them to help me and plenty of others.. her name is Persephone." He states to the crowd as they cheer louder and I wave again.

I step forward as they quiet down for me to speak even though it's probably not required, I just want to say a few things.

"Thank you all for having me.. I just want to quickly say thank you so much for taking the time to hear about my problem.. I'm so happy that you all have the kindness and decency in your heart to accept me and not only me but other creatures openly.. I dedicated my life to helping all that I can, years ago and it's nice to know I have a pack that's understanding of that.. My family died long ago and you don't know what it means to me to have a family once again.. Thank you so much and I can't wait to meet every single one of you.. If you have anything you wish to address with me, feel more than welcome.. I'm an open book." I say as nicely as I can muster up with my charming smile that creates more cheers and smiles to emerge from the crowd.. This went way better then I ever anticipated and I couldn't be happier about it.

"Ok we will do a dinner and ceremony to induct her into our pack as our Luna tomorrow night.. We can spend some time out here for a moment before we go get us something to eat.. I'm starving." My mate says making me smile before he leans in and says into my ear for only us to hear, "I'm hungry for more than just food.. I know you haven't been gone from me for too long, but it was long enough for my taste." I giggle and bite my lip in approval as I look straight forward to see his brother rolling his eyes and walking out of the area looking irritated. But I don't care, this is my mate and the one I want to be with.. he will just have to get over that sometime soon.. If he doesn't stop then this might become an issue and I will be forced to tell my mate about it and that will be a domino effect of reprocussions for his actions.. but that's his fault I already warned him.

Time to talk with some people for a moment before headed in, because I'm starving as well and need something in my system after today.
