Chapter 25 Secrets

Persephone's POV

It's been a little bit since eveyone left the cell I'm in to head up stairs so I'm now thinking about everything as the light prophet across from me just smiles at me but doesn't say anything to me.. curiously.

I think about how things changed for my daily plans for today, taking a quick left turn, none of us saw coming. I never expected to spend the afternoon in a dark, damp and dirty room just to protest against my new family's ways of doing things.. I hope I didn't put a damper on anything with his pack or family.. I want them to like me, but no matter what the results I'm going to do what's right by the innocent which might be against them sadly enough.

I'm brought out of my trailing thoughts when I hear the light prophet groaning.. still in lots of pain even though he wasn't showing it before or even asking for help from me, when he knew I could help him.. I don't understand why he wouldn't ask for help if he was still hurt. I just assumed he was sore if anything.

I'm to his side in no time at all just checking for any external wounds and seeing nothing, but he still groans out as if he is in pain as I see a deep color of red between his lips as it slowly drips down his chin.

So by my observations I would say that it looks all internal.. he has no open wounds on the outside that I can see at all.. but blood is draining from between his lips now.. which normally means it's an internal injury.

I put my hands above his body as I start to chant to try to figure out where the obviously bad damage is. But I feel him put his hands to mine gaining my attention.

"Dear light child thank you for all your help, but don't waist your time or energy on me.. I have lived for almost 300 years and have seen and experienced it all.. I have lived a long and fulfilling life.. I even saw this death coming many years ago and have been just waiting for it happen since I lost my mate.. but I knew I had a bigger purpose so I kept helping until this moment came.. Now that it's here I'm going to accept the light at the seemingly endless tunnel with open arms.. I need this.. I'm tired and I'm done with this life.. Time to embrace what's next in my life.. even if it's just darkness.. Let it consume me, but move forward as the strong being you are.. You're doing what you're suppose to.. There will obstacles that make things hard but just push through.. It will be for the best because you are the light in the dark we have all searched for.. for so long.. thank you for getting this ball of unity rolling." He says to me as I shake my head.. I have never come into contact with someone who doesn't want to be saved.

"No you don't mean that." I say to him as I put my hands up again over him. But he pushes my hands away one more time. "It's ok light child.. it's ok.. I know it's hard for you to not help one in need.. but just let me go." He says as he leans back against the wall. I grab his hand and touch it lightly at least wanting him to know he is not alone in his last moments. He let's out a deep breathe as his head slowly falls down letting me know he has passed.. That is until I see his body lighting up and disappearing in that same moment as if it had never even happened.. like it's all just a dream.

"What happened to him?" I hear from Daniel as I jump not knowing he was there.. I feel my cheeks get cold as I reach up and wipe away the tears I never even knew I was shedding. "Um.. he died." I try to explain as he opens the cell and let's himself in. "Why are you crying it's not like you knew him personally." He states to me as I roll my eyes and standing up to walk across the cell not really wanting to be right by him.. Especially if he is just going to criticize what I'm doing.

"Doesn't mean he wasn't a being of worth.. He had lived a full life and was happy to go.. I have just never had anyone not want me to heal them I was shocked when he turned down my help and it's hard to see someone die but I never want anyone to be alone in their last moments.. That's all.. Why are you even here or care about my feelings?" I ask him just confused about this inquiry and presence.

"Jay asked me to keep you company while he tries to win the pack over to accept someone like you around here.. which will be really hard. He is not the best at convincing so when the voting comes around I will have to join him to make sure you can actually get voted on.. that is if you want my help to let you stay." He says so casually to me as he walks closer to me. My eyebrows furrow before I turn around and respond. "Well do what you want.. if you want me here then vote for that and if not, then vote for that.. but I would of course love your support no matter what, but I won't ask you to do anything you don't agree with." I try to say nicely to him as I feel his hands on the outside of my arms rubbing up and down then as he says into my ear from behind. "What would you do for me.. to get my vote?"

I push his hands off of me as I shake my head. "I'm not that kind of girl.. you vote what you want, but there is nothing you're going to get from me for your vote.. How many times do I have to tell you I'm your brother's mate! I'm here for him and not you." I spat at him as he quickly shoves me face first into the wall holding me there by my wings. "Get off of me!" I spat at him as I feel his hand trailing over the side of my leg and up to my shirt.. then slowly under my shirt as I struggle more.

"Daniel!" We can hear from behind us gaining our attention. I turn around just as quickly, wanting to thank whoever interrupted that. But Daniel is still hovering over me, almost boxing me into the wall with his body.

"What Lee?" He asks her as my eyes go wide while watching her eyes bounce back and forth between us. "She asked you to get off of her.. you know what Jay would do to you if he saw you touching her like this. Now step away from her." She instructs him away from me as he just scoffs. "We were just talking, weren't we Percy?" He asks trying to act casual but there is nothing casual about how he was treating me. So I swallow the lump in my throat. "I don't want to put a wedge between you and your family so I won't say anything to your brother about this.. but if you do it again I will tell him and not defend you at all for your 'talking' with me." I spat at him as he just laughs and shakes his head.

"I love your feisty attitude my Luna." He grabs me by the chin and presses his lips into mine before ending it by backing up with the help of my hands that are on his chest pushing him away.. then opening the cell again to step out before glaring at Leeann and leaving.

"I swear I told him to stop." I try to explain to her as she shakes her head. "Don't worry about it Persephone.. I heard you tell him multiple times that's why I said something.. One thing you have to know is that wolves are horny bastards sometimes.. They don't know how to take no for an answer.. but with my brother.. He obviously sees something in you that intrigues him.. Because the only couple of times I have seen him interested in a woman but he got shut down by.. he just moves on to the next.. but he won't seem to stop when it comes to you.. Jay was concerned with this earlier in your defense.. but Dan made him feel bad about not trusting him so he gave in, hence why Daniel was here but obviously my brother was right by not trusting him around you.. but let's just hope he has learned and played with fired too much... Just so he will hopefully stop, before he gets burned." She says to me as she walks into the cell with me. I just nod nervously because I hate keeping secrets and don't want any from my mate but I don't want to ruin his relationship with his brother either.. and hopefully Daniel will stop his advances and we won't have to worry about this anyways.

"Thank you for believing me, I really appriciate it.. Especially since I know you don't like me.. But I want you to know your brother Jay is who I care about and want to be with.. No one else." I try to explain to her so she doesn't think I want anyone but him or even remotely more suspicious of me then she already is.

"I don't hate you.. I just don't trust you.. but I can tell you don't do these kinds of things.. no matter what happens with those two I will have your back I swear.. But those two have always competed with everything so they will keep doing it no matter what it is.. I think that's why Daniel is so enthralled by you, is because you're out of his reach and that's more tempting than something just given to you.. he likes the game and always has." She states to me making me nod my head in understanding.
