THIRD PERSON POV:
ONE WEEK LATER
It’s been a week and the function is going to start in few days for which Palak’s working and today Ruhani is going to join Oberoi’s for internship. In this past week Ritwik and Palak were so busy that they didn’t get time to interact with each other properly. They just made for the work because of this Ritwik’s friendship motive got spoiled.
IN RITWIKS OFFICE:
He is working on some file when he hears a knock on door, so saying a coming to the person he again gets busy in his file.
“Good morning sir.” Ruhani said in different tone.
Ritwik is so busy in his file that he didn’t notice Ruhani and said in a bossy tone, “Good morning, have a seat.”
“What work I have to do? ” Saying this she suppress her laugh.
“Here I’m paying you and you don’t even know what work you do?” Saying this is close the file angrily and looks up to see who is messing with him and seeing Ruhani starts laughing. “ Ruhu are you mad, who do prank on the first day of the work?” Ritwik continues.
“Obviously me.” Ruhani said cheerfully.
“No one had ever dare to make fun regarding work in the office but now you are here so I have to be prepared.”
“Bhai, I’m here to work and not to enjoy things or to irritate you.”
“Okay, Ms. Oberoi it’s really good that we are getting a nice and hardworking intern.” He said in a professional tone.
“I’m glad sir that I get chance to work here.” She also play along with him.
“Okay, jokes apart I’ll inform my PA about you and he’ll guide you about the work.”
“Okay bhai as you say but remember no special treatment.”
“I remembered Ruhu, you'll be treated as a normal intern only.”
Ritwik calls his PA and tells him to come in his cabin. Few minutes later he comes, Ritwik informs and introduces him with Ruhani as an intern. They are talking when someone knocks on door and Ritwik said come in and Palak enters inside.
“Sorry to disturb you Mr. Oberoi, there is little issue at the venue and it’s require your attention.” Palak said in hurry.
“What happened Miss. Palak, can you elaborate it?” Ritwik asks in confusion.
“When we were working, suddenly a truck loaded of props and decorations came and admitted that the belongings were at the name of Oberoi’s of this venue. I didn’t order anything at the name of Oberoi’s and now they are messing with me to unload the things.” Palak said in a flow.
“Okay, come with me I’ll sort it out.” Saying this Ritwik gets up from his seat and gestures Palak. He returns towards Ruhani and said further, “Ruhu you start your work Aman will guide you.” Then he left with Palak.
They both reaches at the venue and sees the truck driver arguing with workers. They both move towards them and Ritwik calls that driver and takes him little aside and asks him about the matter. To which driver replies that he had given the address of the venue to deliver the loaded things.
“Can you show me the address?” Ritwik asks calmly.
“What do you do with address. This is the address and I know it very well.” The driver said in little high tone.
“But what’s the problem, show it to me atleast once.” Ritwik said little sternly.
Listening his tone, driver takes out the paper on which address is written and gives it to Ritwik. Ritwik reads it and notices that the address is of Oberoi’s only but the person who placed the order is no one from this particular branch. He remembers that the other branch have also the marriage function so he calls the manager to that branch to cross check. He talked to him and gets to know that they have ordered props and decors for the venue but they haven’t reach.
Hanging up the call, he said in a stern voice, “ You wasted your time and our time, it’s your fault and you are arguing with others and also with the girl who is your daughter’s age. Atleast you should have cross check the address and if it is not given properly then you should have to call on the number which is provided to you.” Listening this driver is guilty at his mistake and he said sorry to everyone and left for their another venue.

Ritwik orders everyone to resume their works. He is going back and then he hears Palak’s voice, “Wait a second Mr. Oberoi.”
“Yes, Ms. Palak.” Ritwik said turning towards Palak.
“Thank you for sorting out the things.” She said genuinely thanking him.
“No need to thank Ms. Palak, it is my duty to help my colleague.” He said with a little smile.
“Still Mr. Oberoi, you were a great help.” She said giving him smile.
They both are standing there but no one said a word after their little thank you talk. Both don’t know what to say and Ritwik is fighting with his subconscious mind that should he ask for her friendship or not. Then he remembers Manav words and thought to talk with Palak a little long.
He sees that Palak is about to leave and calls her back and said, “ Uuummm……. Ms.Palak, can we be friends?” saying this he extends his hand.
“Huh.” She said in confusion.
“Ms. Palak I said, can we be friends? If you have any problem then-” Before Ritwik can complete his sentence Palak cuts him off in between and said, “ Friends Mr. Oberoi.” Saying this she shakes hand with him.
“Mr. Oberoi, can I ask you a something?”
“Yes, go ahead.”
“Why suddenly this friendship thing, it’s not that I am having any problem. I’m just curious.”
“There is no motive, it’s just that you are genuine and sweet so I thought to be friend you.”
“OK, I get it can I resume my work?”
“Actually Ms. Palak can we go for a coffee?”
“I would like to go but you know my boss is really strict about the work and he expects me to prioritize the work. But we can go some another time.”
“Okay!! I think your boss is really workaholic. It’s okay we will go in evening.”
“Okay then bye.” Saying this they both left for their work.
Now they both are engrossed. At 6pm Palak wrapping her belongings and is about to submit her daily work report when she sees Ritwik coming towards her. He approaches her and said, “You are free now, right!”
“Yes Mr. Oberoi I’ve completed my work.”
“So, can we go now and if you don’t have any problem we can walk nearby coffee shop.”
“Ya sure, let’s go.” Saying this they both left for café.
They both are walking on the side of road. Ritwik initiated the talk and said, “So Ms.Palak from where had you completed your bachelors?”
“I’m completed from Mumbai only, what about you?”
“I had completed it from Stanford University.”
While talking they reached café and takes a table near the window.
Ritwik calls the waiter.
“What will you have sir?” Waiter asks coming towards them.
“I’ll have cappuccino and what about you?” He said looking at Palak.
“I’ll have cold coffee.”
Taking their order waiter lefts and now they both are silent because they don’t know how to start the conversation.
“Mr. Oberoi why this sudden plan of coffee?” She said breaking that awkward silence.
“We just became friends so that in this way we can now each other.” He said with a genuine smile.
“That’s a good idea, let’s play a game.” She said in excitement.
“Which game at this place.” He said giving in her idea.
“Let’s play 20 question so in that way we can know each other better.” She said with lot of excitement that Ritwik can’t say no to her so he nodded positively.
“I’ll ask first.” She said and to it Ritwik said go ahead.
“How many siblings you have?” She starts asking question.
“Manav bhai and Ruhani, he is my cousin brother and my younger sister.”
“I know about your sibling. Uum who is your favorite person in the family? ” He asked
“My dadi, she is my favorite as she understands me like a best friend.”
“Great, your turn.”
“What about you, whose your favorite?” She asked further.
“My mom, she is everything for me.” He said and smiles widely.
“You love your mom so much, right?” She said with a genuine smile.
“Yes more than anyone. Is Tani your only best friend?” He asks
“Yes!! She is my only best friend.” She said with a goofy smile.
“Do you have friends other than Parth and Rishabh?” She asks
“Besides them I have one more friend, Ishani Grover. She is muttering best friend from childhood.” He said
In meantime their order arrives. They starts having it and continues the game.
“That’s nice, what’s your type in movies?” She asks taking a sip from her coffee.
“I like action, suspense and horror movies and what about you?” He answers and further questions.
“Romcom and I hate horror movies.” She said
Listening this Ritwik chuckles and Palak made a bad face.
“Fine, don’t laugh. Tell me your favorite cuisine.” She questioned.
“Tacos and avocado toast.” He replies and asks further, “What’s your favorite?”
“Chinese!!”
Palak is going to ask further when her phone rings. It’s Tani calling. Seeing Tani’s call she thoughts, should I take the call or not?
Seeing her little confused Ritwik said that you can take the talk. Listening him she picks up the call.
“Hello”
“Hey, where are you?”
“Listen, I’m little busy I’ll call you later.” Saying this she hangs up the call.
Listening the words of Palak, Tani calls her back as she never behaves like this. Giving a apologetic look to Ritwik she again picks up and excuses Ritwik.
“What now?” Palak asks.
“Why did you hang up the call?” Tani said
“Because I’m busy and I’ll call you later.”
“With whom you are busy, with workers or uhm uhm?” Tani
“Tani, I’ve so much work, can we please talk later.”
“Yes we’ll talk later but first tell me with whom you are busy?” Tani
“The second one and now can I put the call?” Palak
“Yes, yes Enjoy and bye.” Tani
Listening this Palak hangs up the call and said, “I’m sorry, it was Tani.”
“No problem, I can understand.”
“Okay let’s resume the game and now tell your favorite color.” Palak
“Black and what yours?”
“Red and the last question of the day what’s your favorite place for hang out? ” She said giggling.
“Marine Drive. I like sitting there and what yours?”
“I love beach.”
They finished their game and Ritwik paid the bill after lots of disagrees from Palak to pay for herself.
Then they lefts for Oberoi’s and from there saying bye to each other both left for their respective homes.
