The next morning, Flora asked Gad to go to The Campbells’ Villa to visit her family. Flora still hasn’t forgotten the insult her family did to her but she wants to visit them as she wants to surprise them with the news that she was now completely cured and healed.
Gad brought a gift for The Campbells, a very ordinary looking cheap gift. But they didn’t pay attention to it because something else caught their attention.
Flora, the beautiful girl Flora.
Flora’s family was surprised when they saw that the scar on her face was gone and that she had become undeniably gorgeous again.
“My daughter!” Lacey called suddenly as she approached Flora. “Oh, good lord, you look so beautiful now!”
“Gosh! Flora, your ugly face is gone now?!” Aunt Sonya approached, surprised. “You’re so beautiful, by the way! Many rich men will surely be crazy about you!” She said intently, ignoring Gad’s presence.
Martin also approached with a serious face. “It’s good that you got rid of that cursed face you had before. You can come back to our company and continue your work there,” he said, his eyes fixed on his daughter as if he was saying that she could no longer say no to what he said.
But Gad stepped forward to match Flora. “No need, Dad. Flora has now a decent and stable job,” he informed in a formal tone.
Everyone looked at the man who dared to speak back. Martin turned red the moment he saw how Gad presented himself in front of them.
“Did I allow you to call me Dad?” Martin asked, annoyed. “And why did you go with my daughter? What a limped old asshole blind. She went to visit us. You aren’t even a member of the family.”
Everyone scanned their look at Gad with a disgust visible on their face. Gad is now wearing a shirt and pants which made him the usual ordinary man he showed when he first faced The Campbells. And just seeing Gad’s trash face being with Flora makes them feel madly disgusted and want to kick him out of the Villa right quickly.
But Flora did not like what she heard. “Gad was my husband, Dad. You don’t need to be disrespectful to him,” she stated, defending Gad.
Lacey, who had always been against Gad, rolled her eyes. “Don’t defend your commoner husband. Now, I believe that this marriage is completely mismatched.”
Flora was completely red with anger. Gad is working at Groupon Company as a security guard. He is indeed an ordinary man compared to the rich men who courted her before but Gad is the reason why she has regained his beauty now.
Gad approached Flora and held her hand. “It’s okay, Flora,” he whispered, reassuring her.
After a while, Sandy suddenly came closer and her eyes widened when she saw the Celestial Locket that Flora was now wearing. “Dang. This was the original Celestial Locket. Who gave this to you?”
Everyone looked at Flora’s necklace, only then did they realize the expensive necklace she was wearing and it caused them to feel stunned. There’s no way that it was Gad, the poor guy, who gifted the Celestial Locket to Flora?
“It must be Dexter’s gift to her,” Grandma Silvia proudly interfered, who just came in with her butler. “Flora, my granddaughter, it’s good that you come back here to our Villa. I have a very good news for you.”
“News?” Flora asked, confused.
That’s when a man, Dexter, wearing a black suit and accompanied by his personal bodyguards suddenly entered. By his stance, everyone could immediately identify that he came from a powerful family.
“Remember Dexter?” Grandma Silvia marveled at Flora. “He just got back from another country last week and now he wants to arrange marriage with you as soon as possible.”
They will arrange a marriage for Flora? With that guy? Gad scoffed a bit. He was her husband already. What a joke is that!
“Hello, my future family-in-law.” Dexter greeted. One of his personal bodyguards immediately went to Flora to give her the small box. “I have a gift for everyone and ... for you, Flora.” He added, looking at Flora.
Lacey urged Flora to open it and so she did. She forcefully took the box and opened it, it was an expensive bracelet.
The Campbells were stunned. Now they won’t wonder if it was Dexter who gifted the Celestial Locket to Flora.
But Flora was kind of sad thinking that she wrongly thought Gad was the one who gave her the necklace. It was obviously Dexter.
“Hey you, poor commoner.” Grandma Silvia called Gad. “I don’t want this discussion to last any longer. It’s a good thing you are here as well. And I want you to divorce Flora now. Don’t worry, I will give you 500,000 dollars as compensation.”
Gad’s face turned serious, an unusual expression that the people here had just seen. It made them feel his thunderous intimidation.
“I am sorry, Grandma, but I will not divorce Flora,” Gad said, his face furious. Flora was already married to him. There’s no way he will let other men marry his wife. He vows never to abandon her. “I will only do that when Flora is already tired of me, which I know she isn’t,” he added, leaving everyone shocked.
What a joke he still has that confidence!
Dexter laughed. “In Flora’s condition, I can see she looks tired now of being disappointed with you because you can’t even afford to buy her expensive jewelry.” He looked at Flora again. “Don’t settle for less, Flora, you’re a goddess. You are more suited to a rich man like me.”
Meanwhile, Grandma Silvia interjected, with an authoritative look, she turned to Gad. “Fine. If you really want to prove your marriage with Flora, then secure a partnership deal with the Groupon Company with a worth of over 50 million dollars.” She death glared at Gad. “Within just seven days!”
Dexter shook his head at Gad. “It’s still difficult to schedule a meeting with the CEO of the Groupon Company. Even we, the doctors of Groupon, don’t get the chance to see and talk to the CEO. I wonder how will a dinky ordinary man like you can deal with the CEO of super-rich company?”
Flora was now nervous. She could see Gad’s dead composed face. He is a security guard of the Groupon Company but he is not a business tycoon so that he can easily make a big deal with the CEO of Groupon.
But then, Gad just smirked, as if he wasn’t threatened at all by what they had said.
“I won’t need seven days. I can accomplish it by tomorrow,” Gad declared confidently.
