Kathy's Side Part 1

1177 Words
Thalia POV: When Leo said that we were having a guest for dinner, I wasn't expecting to see Ms.Kathy standing there in the dining room. When we walked in after our run and I saw her there, tears started forming in my eyes. I was so happy to see her there and I ran to her right away. I pushed Leo out of my way and ran straight into Kathy's open arms. "MS.KATHY! Is that really you? OMG it is you!" I screamed as I hugged her tightly. Her hugs were just as warm as I had remembered them being. The tears were once again flowing from my eyes as I stood there being hugged by the woman who had saved my life more times than she ever thought she would. "Oh little one! It really is you. Thank the Goddess you are safe and where you are supposed to be. I have missed you, my little craft angel," Kathy cooed at me as she held me. She gently pushed me back to get a better look at me. I could see the tears that were in her eyes and softly wiped them away from her. Ares was standing behind us with a small sad smile on his face as he watched the interaction between me and the woman that saved my life. Kathy motioned to me to go to him and then to sit down. Ares pulled both of our chairs out and helped us sit. Kathy was sitting on the right of me while Ares sat on the left of me next to dad, who was sitting at the head of the table. Kathy turned to me and took my hands softly into her hands. "Craft angel, when the young prince and the alpha called me into the office to ask about you, I just knew that you had finally been returned to where you were needed," Kathy started saying. I need to be honest with you about something that I now know is the truth. You see when you were first dropped off at my house all those years ago..." "Hang on one quick moment, Ms.Kathy," Dad gently interrupted. "Let us first be served and have the doors closed so we can't be interrupted." Dad nodded to the omegas that were waiting to serve us to begin. As soon as they were done, they all left and the head Omega closed the door, and you could hear the lock activate right away. Dad turned to Kathy and motioned for her to continue what she was saying. "As I was saying earlier, when you were dropped off at my house all those years ago, I knew from the very beginning that you were not meant to be in the human life that you were in," Everyone looked up sharply after hearing those words. I looked at her with a puzzled look and asked her to continue. Kathy POV: I knew that the curveball that I just threw at my little craft angel was not expected by anyone who was in attendance at dinner. "Let me explain what I mean little one. A few weeks before you were brought to my house, the Moon Goddess had visited me in my dreams. She told me that the next girl that was coming to my house was destined for great things in our world and that I needed to do everything in my power to protect her from danger." I paused for a moment before continuing. "As you know, all beings have a certain smell to them so that those who come around them know what species they are. Humans tend to smell like blood that has been thinned out by water. Wolves smell like their pack grounds and their own family scent lines. Vampires smell like fried raw meat and rogues smell like death warmed over with a side of sewage. There are many other species that also have their own scents, but not all of them are known to our kind." I started to see that Ares was seeing where I was going with this. "When Thalia came into your house, you could smell that she wasn't as human as everyone was saying that she was, didn't you?" Ares asked me while resting a hand on Thalia's shoulder. I nodded sharply at him while taking a breath before continuing, "Yes, her scent was that of this here's packland. You see, my family is one of the original pack member families that started this pack. The smell of this pack will always be a part of who we are no matter where we go in our lives. When I found Peter, who was my mate and a rogue, I left the pack to live with him and his three sons. I thought they were all good men and was really happy to be able to help all the human girls who needed me." I took a deep breath again and looked straight into Thalia's eyes and knew that the next things that I had to tell her were going to break her. I love this child and I know that what my ex-mate did to her was something that has stayed with her all of these years. "The night of the...attack on you little one, I was once again visited by the Goddess. She told me that you were the young one that she had wanted me to protect. She said that her sister fate had taken your soul from her and had wanted you to be abused as much as possible. Fate had decided that you were going to be her play thing and that, no matter how hard Selene tried, you were going to be completely broken to pieces before she gave you back to Selene. It was exactly that moment that I started to feel the pain of a mate cheating." At this point, I was starting to see that Thalia was reliving that night again. I motioned to Ares, and he quickly grabbed her and held her close. "Shhhh little one. Come back to me baby. They can't touch you ever again, I promise you. Thalia, baby, come back to me!" Ares started calling to her, and she started to respond to him. I could see that the Goddess really chose a perfect mate for our little crafting angel. "Do you want me to continue crafting angel?" I asked her when I saw that she was back and holding onto Ares a little less tightly. She nodded and then snuggled back into her mate's neck. I nodded and continued. "So, after feeling the pain, I stumbled out of our room and started searching the house. Kenon and the other girls were all in their beds sleeping still, so I headed over to your room and heard everything Peter was saying to you. When I saw that he, Billy and Jerry were all in there and hurting you, I lost it on them. My wolf Nessie took control because I couldn't even think properly."
