Waiting for the Evening

1428 Words
Ira It had been a little over a week since the Monike accident. That morning, she had woken up in Liam’s bed, a little sore but glowing in delight. Then she remembered how she had pushed him away. She had looked for him in all the rooms but found only empty rooms. He was missing and her soul pined for him. Worried for Liam and Monike, she had called Bella, asking her for an update. Bella had informed her about the whole scenario at the hospital. Ira had been so pissed with the entire situation that day. Good Liam hadn’t returned till evening as she would have taken her anger out on him. By evening she had been able to think and realise that the situation wasn’t in his control. Hetoo had been the victim of the circumstances. She had connected with Sarena and asked her to begin her training. Liam would have to wait to break off the engagement until Monike was medically out of danger. She sat in his lap watching TV, remembering how he looked that evening. All broken and devastated, with shadows under his eyes. His hair had been all messy and looked like he had been crying. She had hopped into his arms and had felt him slowly relax. Relieved that he was back, she had apologised. Offering to be together, she had asked him to promise that he would break off the engagement as soon as possible. Her heart had gone out to him, seeing how readily he had agreed. That night, they had made crazy love right here on the living room sofa. She smiled. For some strange reason, things had been easy with Co Ma. He had heard Liam's story and accepted it wholeheartedly, congratulating him on finding his mate. He had asked Liam to let Monike recuperate. Co Ma and Liam had made plans to shift her to Canberra as soon as she was fit to travel. Although Ira was surprised that he wasn't upset, she did not complain. It is good that the prime minister knew about the werewolf law and understood the importance of a mate bond. Things were finally falling into place. “What are you thinking, princess?” Liam’s gruff voice tickled her ears. “Nothing! Just about the last few days.” She purred, pulling his head down to kiss him. “Yes, things have been better. In the hospital, Monike can’t do much. She has been rather quiet. Your suggestion was good. I haven’t breached the topic of engagement again. Apart from my friendly visits, I have maintained my distance. But I believe she can pick up on the difference.” He stroked her leg, making slow circles, sending sparks of desire through her body as her mind tuned out the television. “Mmm… Mmm..” She tried forming words, but the only thing she could think of was the hard rod that she was sitting on. She wanted it inside her. “Thinking about something else now?” He whispered in her ear and she swore. The guy knew how to fire up her body. She wriggled her bum against the hardness that teased her through their clothes. “You need to go to work, mister! And I believe Monike is getting discharged today. Finally, the time has come for you to let her know that you have found your mate!” she replied. Her voice sounded husky as she tried to control the shudder that ran through her body as his playful finger reached her core. “Are you sure you want me to go?” He continued in the same hoarse voice, and she forgot what she wanted. Her thoughts went blank and the only thing real for her was the aching desire between her legs. “Mmm… mmm…” Again, the same ludicrous sounds were all that she could make as he continued to fondle her at the right spots. When she was all hot and needy, he stopped. She grumbled in frustration and he smirked, “you are right. I should get going.” He pushed her off his lap and got up. His mighty er*ction made a huge tent against his boxer, but he totally ignored her as she stood watching him with narrowed eyes. The b*stard left her all horny and uncomfortable. She huffed in frustration, turned the blaring TV off and stomped towards their brand new kitchen. Liam and his stupid games! He chuckled in the bedroom, aware of her feelings. Lately, because of their connection, he could feel her emotions more clearly. She wasn’t so tuned in to his emotions yet. Putting water for a boil in her kettle, she began to brew herself a comforting lavender, and chamomile tea. Whether the tea was comforting or not, making it was enough for her to direct her horny thoughts towards something more mundane. She wasn’t joking when she said he had to work. He had been holed up with her the entire day, enjoying the new interiors. He had sneakily gotten James over and with the help of James and Ben, changed the entire interior of his living quarters with a day. That day she had been out with Sarena learning to control her powers. She had been so dejected with the whole exercise as she hadn't been able to visualise the dark ether, no matter what she did. This surprise had completely thrown her off and brightened her otherwise depressing day. It looked more like a home now, although the exterior was still the same. The bathroom was the same too. Instead of the library next to it, the bathroom had become an ensuite as James had made a bedroom attached to it. Their mirror stood proudly next to the walk in cabinet, which had loads of clothes and shoes that James had transferred from her Melbourne house. Liam had been clear that the bathroom had fond memories of Ira escaping and he did not want to change a thing there. James had only added a small bathtub and increased the area of the bathroom. She too loved the new interior. James had designed Liam’s office in a way that the IT department was now connected to his office and it had a separate entrance so his pack members could reach him without disturbing their privacy. Their library c*m study had moved to the farther part of the house, the place where Ira had first stayed so that the library had an ultimate view of the ravines and rivulets. She loved the place. Liam had worked tirelessly with James, getting every small detail in line with what he wanted. They have had to do a lot of shopping, moving and shifting as few things needed to be bought even when a witch was involved. Witches could only do as much. She poured the hot tea for herself and sat at the French doors, in the library happily sipping her beverage. The brew allowed her horny head to calm down. She was finally happy. Today Liam would break the engagement off, and finally, she wouldn’t feel as if she was sleeping with a taken man. Logically, she knew he was her soul mate, and no one had more right over him than her, but the idea still hurt that Monike believed Liam was hers and was going to marry her. “Brooding much?” Liam’s voice forced her out of her thoughts. She turned around to look at the handsome man who she would proudly proclaim as hers once the Monike issue was sorted. She hoped her reconstruction surgery to close the burr holes in her scalp, and went through with no complications. She was tired of all the complexities in their lives. “A little. Nothing bad. Only happy thoughts, I promise.” She winked and felt her heart skip a beat when Liam’s face broke into a bright smile. “Why don’t you hurry? Earn some bread, win some wars, hunt some meat and be back to our nest ASAP? I have interesting plans for you in bed.” She smirked in joy, seeing his p*nis twitch under his denims, at her words. He groaned, "this is unfair!" "Aww... is it now? I thought this was our new way! Remember the couch sweetie? The way you left me before getting dressed!" She purred and watched his eyes change colours. A wave of thrill ran through her gut, knowing that his Lycan had accepted the challenge. She so looked forward to their night! *****
