Inside Monike's Head

1022 Words
Monike She had tried to reach out to that b*tch Miriam before getting entranced by the darkness of sleep, but the malicious hag hadn’t shown up. She had seen the mist in her room before completely falling asleep, but instead of meeting Miriam like the last time; she had slept peacefully with no dreams and woken up suddenly, again aware of the lingering headache, which was very mild now. The noisy machines continued to hum and beep. Two nurses were in the room, attending to the machines, checking the readings, and updating the charts. Must be the servant omegas. She thought, knowing well that most service works were done by the omegas. She had read about the werewolf hierarchy and knew that the omegas were merely slaves to all other wolves, although with the advent of the new age and modernism, they were getting better status. She did not believe that the old systems should have changed. What was a queen without her servants? She shook her head to remain focused. The medicines were messing with her thinking. She wanted to meet Liam. Period. She shouted at the nurses who were attending her. When none of them paid any attention, she asked for water. One of the nurses got her water, and she slapped the stupid omega with unnatural strength, causing her lip to burst open. Feeling satisfied as the nurse whimpered when blood oozed out of her fresh wound, she snarled. Doctor Maggie entered the room and asked Monike’s to calm down. The woman had the balls to threaten her that she would administer the sedatives again. Monike panicked. She did not want to sleep off again without meeting Liam. She threw her hands in the air in agitation, knocking off the instruments next to her. She needed answers, not sleep. She needed to know if Miriam was right. If that b*tch Ira was back and whether her future plans were really ruined. She couldn’t trust anyone but Liam. That’s what she knew about him very well. He was an arrogant a*hole, too arrogant to lie. “Call your f*cking Alpha you drongoes,” she spat, kicking away anyone trying to come close to her. She pushed and shove and tried to jump out of bed. Pulling her IV off, she lunged at the same nurse again. The blood on the woman's lips had dried, and the wound had already healed. F*cking super healing of the werewolves! If she was a werewolf, she would have healed by now and gotten engaged today! The subservient nurse whined and asked her to let her go. Was she even a wolf? Freaking weak omegas! Maggie ordered them to tie her up. Monike shouted and screamed, trying to break free. Her anger rose and her head throbbed worse than usual. As she growled and spat at them, Liam arrived. He looked as sexy as ever in his ripped denims and the tight T- shirt that couldn’t hide his abs. She did not love him but boy she loved that hot body and what he could do to her in bed. Although she was super angry, she stayed calm. He would definitely support her. She had seen how much he protected the people around him, especially women. She might not love him, but she respected him. When she brought his attention to her restraints, as expected, he rebuked his staff and got her free. He even got that stupid witch doctor to leave them for some privacy. He had come over to sit next to her. She wanted him closer, wanted him to touch her while talking. It would have helped calm her anxiety and reassured her that everything was going to be fine. But he stayed aloof as he explained how his Lycan was the reason for her accident. She couldn't believe her ears. They had enjoyed so many wild nights together. When he had come inside her multiple times, his wolf or Lycan hadn't complained! Suddenly what had gone wrong? Was it that mate thingy that she had read about? So was Ira his mate? But that couldn't be! Ira was staying on their property for a few days before she had left. Liam had shown no interest in her. Wouldn't he have f*cked her brainless and marked her as his own? Like the dogs mark their territory? So had he fallen in love with Ira? When he started talking about not getting engaged anymore, she knew that he had fallen in love. There was no other reason to call of the engagement. Her stress intensified. Miriam was right, he was going to call off this wedding. What would she tell her father? Melinda would make fun of her. She would be a laughingstock for the entire family. She had been so contemptuous and insulting towards them when she had last visited them, showing how she was greater than anyone else in her family, now that she was marrying an Alpha of werewolves. She was so confident that she would also be a wolf of ranking and would rule like a queen that she had left no stone unturned, rubbing it in for every family member of hers. Melinda would happily remind her of her failure, the way she had always had. And yet again she would turn out to be the black sheep while Melinda basked in the glory of being her dad's favourite daughter. She did not want to go back to the humans, and she still wanted to marry this beastly Alpha. She was going to make him marry her, even if she had to sell her soul to a devil for that. The air in the room suddenly seemed very insufficient as she tried to gasp to get more air. Her headache increased phenomenally and her heart raced as if trying to burst her rib cage. She had to stop Liam from sending her back. She had to convince him she was the best mate for him. Is Ira back? She wanted to ask, but words failed her as her throat ran dry. She couldn’t breathe, couldn’t think…. Blank… *****
