Morning in the Rogue Land

Ira She woke up to the incessant knocking at her door. Groggy and tired she looked around. Her surroundings were new. Sunlight streamed through the white curtains of her french door. Her clock said 10 am! What the f**k? How did I oversleep? What happened to the f**k*ing alarm. She looked at her iPhone. It was discharged and had died. No wonder the alarm hadn’t gone off. She quickly got up and sprinted to the door. “Coming!” She cried sprinting towards the door, tying the belts of her satin kimono robe. She liked sleeping in her cosy innerwear and had to cover herself before getting to the door. She opened the door and stood aside. “Are you alright?” Liam barged as she stood taking in his formal look. He was clean shaven and had slicked his short hair back. He was dressed in an all black suit with a black shirt, black tie and black brogues. The colour looked dramatic on his tanned skin. The well fitting suit left very little to the imagination as Ira could easily picture the contours of his hard muscles under the fabric of his clothes. He looked dapper and smelled inhumanly sexy. Her mouth went dry and her heart changed its rhythm as she took his look in. “What took you so long?” He scowled. “I was asleep,” Ira stated, still staring at the top specimen of male species. Liam shuffled his weight on his feet. He looked uncomfortable about something. She looked around to see if everything was fine. She hadn’t moved a single thing in the room. “You sure are a princess! I thought you were supposed to have your breakfast and start your work by 10!” He looked into her eyes. Now it was her turn to feel uncomfortable. What right did he have to question her? She had just arrived! And she wasn’t working with him anyway. Bella was going to join her. Her tummy rumbled and she felt mortified. What timing! Her body sure knew how to embarrass her! Liam narrowed his eyes on her. “When did you eat last night? I did not see you at the pack dining hall.” “Your pack has a dining hall?” She asked, raising her eyebrows and immediately regretted. The change in Liam's expressions was instant. He scowled. A vein pulsed prominently at his temple as he tightened his square jaw. “We are not savages! Ask Bella to show you around before you begin your work. I don’t want you to feel that you are in whoop whoop.” “Okay!” She agreed. She couldn’t go without food for long. Her tummy had already made that clear. “Are you going out somewhere? You are all dressed up!” She rattled off before she could stop herself. It was strange. She usually was this talkative only with people she felt comfortable with or friendly with. Here she was neither comfortable nor friendly. The memory of the hot smothering kiss that they had shared at the battle field popped up in her head and the quotient of comfort dipped further. She tried to distract herself but Liam’s presence in the small living room was too conspicuous. Liam gawked at her and shook his head. “It's not good for me to stay here for long. Please get ready. I will ask Bella to get something for you to eat.” As if on cue her tummy growled noisily and he smirked. This was so awkward. Her body needed fuel for sure. Last evening after seeing him she had forgotten all about food and locked herself in her room. On top of that his presence next to her was making her want things from him that she knew he could never give. She wanted to touch those hard muscles again. She wanted to touch and feel his impressive manhood, to check if it really was as hard as she had felt it to be when it poked her inner thigh in the trench on the battle field. “So you like what you see?” Liam gave a smug smile. She stopped herself from ogling and instead looked him in the eye. It was a mistake. His brown eyes pulled her in and she forgot what she was going to say. Desire pooled in her core as she wanted to entwine around his hulk like body and steal a long passionate kiss. “I probably should leave now!” He darted towards the door and was out of there before Ira could even register his sentence. What a freak show! I totally know how to behave! She rolled her eyes as her thoughts dripped sarcasm. I had to go ahead and become all needy with him! Trust me to goof up the first morning itself! This is never going to work. Why does my body betray me like this? He doesn’t even want me! He just wants to pique me most of the time. She groaned and scurried towards the bathroom. Why was he here anyway? Did he really care what I had eaten? That can’t be! He must have worried that I would sleep through the day and won’t work! After all, he is paying me for this project. She thought as she brushed her teeth and freshened up. By the time Bella came over to her, she had finished her morning chores. She sat drinking tea at the french window enjoying the view in front of her. The ravine looked different in the mornings. She sighed. This was a good place and she did feel safe. "Whats up darl? You look pensive!" Bella pulled a chair next to Ira to sit on and looked at the ravine. "Are you thinking of the jump?" She was referring to Ira's leap off the cliff a few days back. When everyone had thought that Ira was going to die. Even Ira herself wasn't sure if she would survive but she had to go far away from Liam. Luckily Jade had been able to break the magic on Draco and that had saved both Jade and Ira. Things were still the same between her and Liam. Her body wanted him and he had to stay away. She let out her breath. If only she had met him before his pact with Co-Ma! "You can talk to me!" Bella mumbled seeing no response from Ira. Ira sighed. "Nothing much. You tell me. What's up with you! What is making you sad?" Ira waited for Bella to reply. "I found my mate." Bella disclosed looking straight into Ira's eyes. *****
