The Ultimatum

Liam The week was almost over. Leo hadn’t responded, and Liam’s patience was running super low. His wolf had whined constantly, and he hadn’t slept restfully since Ira had gone. With every passing day, Liam’s wolf became more and more difficult. Liam had to push him back and concentrate harder than ever to continue his work going. The pack administration wasn’t an effortless task, especially because he was dealing with rogues who were high on adrenaline and very low in following rules. The business also needed his attention as it was the only thing that could sustain his pack and IT was coming up with newer challenges as they had a couple of suspicious breaches at the borders which remained untracked. Overall, it felt as if everything was going against him. And his wolf’s constant whining was the cherry on top! He sat at the desk in his library, working on his laptop. His IT had been sending him the analytics of the most recent breach. He would soon need CCTV cams along with his regular patrolling. That was another additional expense and a whole level of equipment to hide from the humans. He sighed. The only hope was at Kirra's end now. She had agreed to speak with James and visit Liam if possible. She, too, had been busy with her work. James was out on an outdoor shoot and she was still under training as an Alpha. Along with that, she had been rallying the clans to form a council for regulating laws and meting out punishments to the erring Alphas. The first accused was her own grandfather who interestingly was supporting her in this mission. He hadn't heard from her for two days. Each day was getting more and more difficult, as he was counting the minutes of Ira being away from him. Hell! He might as well be counting seconds. He felt the tingling in his head and the pressure build up to explode, so he opened the mind link. It was Bella. ‘Boss! SORRY!’ She literally shouted into the mind link. ‘What’s the matter? I hope it isn't bad news about Ira!’ He gritted his teeth in frustration. Why would someone start the sentence with a f*cking sorry? ‘NO… no…no… It is Monike. She heard Ron say that you have been looking for Ira. And now she is on her way to you.’’ He almost felt Bella’s wolf’s ears droop down in shame, although he knew it wasn’t possible for him to see someone’s wolf through a mere mind link. ‘Thanks for the heads up. I will manage.’ he responded, earning a sigh of relief from Bella. ‘One more thing. Alpha Leo has called and Ben has exciting news for you. He is waiting for you to call him over to give you the news in person. So once Monike leaves, please give a shout.’ She said. Liam grunted to acknowledge and closed the mind link. He shut the laptop and headed towards his bedroom to wear a T shirt. It was hot, and he had been sitting only in his cutoffs. He had no plans for Monike to see him like this. Although she had seen him completely n*ked in the past and done more than just watching, he now wanted her nowhere near him. So stop reminding me what all you and the b*tch did between the sheets! His wolf grumbled and Liam rolled his eyes. I wasn’t! Liam responded and head towards his wardrobe. But he was too late. Monike was already striding into his bedroom. “Monike!” he turned around in surprise. “Why the f*ck didn’t you knock?” She shrugged. “I just used my spare key. We are going to be engaged to marry soon! I think we should be like the couple that we are meant to be!” He ran a hand through his hair and gritted his teeth. “We aren’t married yet! And even after marriage, I want you to respect my privacy!” He let the heaviness of an Alpha command linger after his sentence. “Are you doing the Alpha command thing again? You know I am a human, right? For me, your command doesn't make me agree. Only your voice changes and makes me moist.” She sauntered towards him, running her eyes over his exposed chest and opening the buttons of her blouse. The light material of her short skirt glided up and down her thigh as she took slow, sensuous steps towards him. “It only makes you sound sexier!” She stood close to him and sniffed at his chest. The hair at the back of his neck rose as his wolf started protesting in his head. “I love the new tattoo. I did not know you were into witches!” She was now almost touching him. In the past, he would have picked her up and f*cked her senseless right there against the wall, but right now his brain was furiously trying to come up with an escape. He tried to mind link Ben to call him, but she distracted him by running her nail against his cheek. Despite himself, his d**k twitched. Don’t you dare! His wolf warned. Monike lowered her voice into a sultry tone. “By the way, love, you would need to turn me into a werewolf once we get engaged. I want to marry you as a werewolf, not as a human. I want to be able to mind link with you so I can show you interesting images when you are in those boring and drab meetings.” Looking at his mouth, she licked her lips, and he knew he had to act faster or his wolf was going to kill someone today. He went still as she wrapped herself around him and moaned. Her naked boobs pressed against his torso and his wolf howled in anger. “I have missed you so much!” She looked up into his eyes and purred. “Your warm body and hot d**k have been keeping me awake for so many nights”. She pouted and continued. “You have been so busy!” She ran a nail on his chest, tracing the tattoo. His heart almost stopped as an excruciating pain shot through his chest. As if his heart was being cut out with a hot knife. He pushed her off. His voice betrayed him as the pain continued to engulf his body. Was it his own agony or Ira's? Was she safe? Monike's shrill voice pulled his attention to her. “What the f*ck is wrong with you? Why are you so distant from me all the time?” with tears gleaming in her eyes, she picked up the blouse that had fallen on the floor and started putting it on. “Since the time that b*tch arrived here and stayed in your room, you have moved away from me! Even now when she is not here, you continue to reject me!” She blasted. The tears had given way to anger. “I am done living away from you like this. I am moving in with you tomorrow. If you have any reservations, call my dad and cancel the engagement.” She turned around and walked away with her head held high. *****
