Finally, William was able to convince Vivian that he was married. Still though, she did not want to believe it. She had been thinking about him for four years and it hurt to discover that he had not been pining after her in the same way. She couldn’t imagine him married to someone else. In her mind’s eye, she had always envisioned him waiting for her with open arms.
