Chapter 9

I heard a knock coming from Iah's room. I opened the door and boy I think I was drooling. I shook my head and he called me beautiful. I asked him: Me? You need glasses. I'm so ordinary, nothing special. He said: Stop, you know you are the most beautiful woman in this hotel. He put his arm out, I grabbed it and started walking towards the elevator that takes us to the dining hall. I kept looking down and blushing. I felt my face was on fire. I look up and he is staring at me. I have no words. I smack him on his arm and walk out of the elevator. All of a sudden a strange woman appeared in front of us and was ready to hug Iah. He said: Hello Maki. The woman replied: Hello Iah, what no hug? Iah pushed her back and let go of her arms and hugged my waist and told her: No, I only get hugs from my fiance. Have a nice evening. We started to walk away and noticed the woman got upset and stormed off. Iah knew I was gonna ask a question, but I didn't and just kept it in my mind. He started to tell me and i told him: You don't have to explain yourself but your fiance? He smiled and kept on walking. We reached our table and I swear it looked like he was a celebrity. Everybody knew him and catered to his hand and foot. So we had dinner and afterwards went for a walk under the moonlight. I stopped on the bridge and asked him: Fiance? What are you thinking? I'm nobody's girlfriend, let alone fiance. He came closer to me and he then leaned and I froze. He gave me a kiss on my cheek and I blushed again. He said: Are you okay? I nodded and smiled. He then said: I know we just met a few days ago but I feel like I've known you forever. I feel safe with you and would like to think you feel the same about me or at least like me a little. I know I don't look like dating material. I laughed and said: What are you saying, are you nuts? You are so handsome any woman would be very lucky to be with you.

So we concluded the night and got back to the hotel rooms. He helped me in my room and sat on the chair while I changed into my nightgown and came out of the bathroom. I said: Thank you for today, I really needed to clear my mind and believe that I have a life ready for me.

He smiled and said: Come here Noel. He grabbed my hands and said: You're welcome and you deserve this and more. He pulled me into a hug and kissed me. I didn't know what to do but melt into those nice plump lips and hug him back. After that he told me good night and I said: Good night and by the way I like you a lot but we will have to see where all my troubles lead us and if you really want to be with a troubled woman. He smiled and closed the door behind him.

Iah in his hotel room……

He closed the door behind him and with a grin on his face he went to change into his sleeping shorts. He took his shirt off and stopped mid way because they smelled like Noel. He asked himself; I hope I didn't push her away with that kiss. She is so beautiful I can't control myself and I just love her. What can I do? I think I can only keep her close and safe until we figure out her situation, but I swear I will kill anyone who tries to take her from me. Ring…. Ring…. Hello. Yes. Be right down.

I got dressed again and went downstairs. Hello son, my mother and father said. I asked: What are you doing here? My father said, we need to enjoy our free time also, you know, besides we have news for Noel, but we can talk in the morning. How are you guys enjoying the island? I asked; What kind of news? It's not going to upset her is it? We had an amazing time at the beach and at dinner…. I paused. Mother said: What happened? Well Maki happened. Mother said: What did she do or say?I answered: well We were coming out of the elevator with me and Noel and she ran into us and tried to hug me. Mother said: Well did she? What did Noel say? I answered: No, she tried, I grabbed her hands after she asked why no hugs and I told her I only got hugs from my fiance and grabbed Noel and walked away.

Father then said: I bet she threw a fit? I answered: Yes she did, but I didn't care, I was with Noel. Noel looked at me and said I didn't have to explain myself. We had dinner and then went for a walk. We talked and then I told her what I felt for her. We got to her room and I kissed her. My mother said: What and how could you? I'm sorry mother, I answered. I'm falling in love with her and at least she said she liked me too, but she wants to wait. My mother said: I hope you didn't scare her. I answered: me too. Well we can talk more in the morning, we are going to our usual room son, my father said. I told them good night and we will see each other again for breakfast.

In Noel's room…

What just happened? I said when I got into the bed. I put my hand on my mouth because I didn't want Iah to hear me or anyone else for that matter. I started to giggle and said: Way to go Noel, you just pushed away the only guy that will probably be the one that likes you and makes you feel so goofy. Why would he kiss me though? Does he really like me that way? Why? I'm just a college student going through hell right now. I have nothing to offer him or any person of any status. Oh my, what am I going to do? I have to tell him in the morning. I am curious to know who the woman named Maki was. She seems to know Iah very well to just want to jump in his arms and expect all of him. Well, I did tell him he didn't have to explain himself so, oh well. If it comes up he can explain himself, but i wouldn't care either way, we are nothing more than just friends. Well, no point dwelling on stuff and ruining my vacation weekend. Good night to me.

The next morning like always, there is the knock at my door and a handsome guy walking through. Iah says: Wow, you are awake and ready, looking gorgeous as always. I said laughing: Iah, you really need a different line and glasses I told you. But you don't look bad yourself. Iah said: Thank you and I have a surprise for you. I said: Another surprise? Isn't it enough with this trip? He grabbed me and I held my breath really quickly. He then said: No and I will always have a surprise for you. He let me go and said: Let's go to breakfast. I'm starving. I smiled and followed by holding his hand.
