I was sitting upside down on the couch with my head hanging off the cushion I was looking at kai as he looked at me telling us story's of what he's done here. "And of course, I broke into the oval office and took a picture of myself at the window looking all J.F.K., but then I was like, 'wait. How am I gonna get these photos developed?'" Kai was telling us when Damon snapped at him. "Oh, my God! Just answer the damn question. How are we gonna get out of this twilight zone?" Damon asks him. "I got a question for you first. Why do you think we're stuck on a repeating loop of May 10, 1994, doomed to relive a solar eclipse forever and ever and ever?"Kai asks Damon grabbing my interest I sit up the correct way. "How the hell should I know?" Damon says. "Well, I heard you tell Bonnie and El this place was your own personal hell. I'm kind of curious why." Kai says. "I found everything you asked for Can opener, shower drain, grinding wheel, jam, pocket knife, volume "O" of the encyclopedia, a nail, and a black marker. Now what?" Bonnie says coming in. "Can't show you with my hands taped." He tells us. When I see that they aren't making a move to untie him I sigh and get up. Ripping his hands free from the tape. "El." Damon warns me. "Seriously Damon, I'm a thousand-year-old Original hybrid do you think this human can get past me?" I ask him. " Thank you." Kai tells me when his hands are free. "Ok. Fine. How's this pile of crap gonna get us out of here?" Damon asks. "I'll explain as soon as you tell me what you did on May 10, 1994?" Kai tells him. "What difference does it make?" Damon asks him getting annoyed. "Put it this way. Bonnie's magic is one part of the equation. My as-yet-undisclosed knowledge is the other, El is my eye candy and she slightly scares me,  which means you would be hitching a ride home for free. I just want to know if you deserve to come along." Kai says making me smirk. "Why thank you love" I tell him.  "Your very welcome." He says smiling at me. "Or I could just torture you until you say something useful." Damon says. Taking the knife from the table and grabbing Kai. "If you torture me, I'll get mad, and then I won't want to help you. What kind of person needs to have that explained to them?" Kai says looking to me. I step up and take the knife from Damon. "Play nice." I tell him. "Stop trying to impress the new guy." Damon says. " I'm not, I'm just trying to get home to see my family. Why don't you just tell him your story?" I ask him. Raising my voice. "Maybe because I don't want to talk about the worst thing I ever did, Elizabeth." He yells at me. "Ooh. Now I'm listening." Kai says sticking his hand in the jelly jar and shoving some in his mouth. A bit later Kai finished his Jelly and was working.  "I need to be entertained while I work. Hell story, please." Kai says working. "Remind me not to kill him." Damon tells Bonnie. "Maybe telling him your story will take your mind off of it." Bonnie tells him. "Whose side are you on?" "The side where we all get to go home to the people we love." Bonnie tells him making Damon c***k. "Fine. In May 1994, I was living here. I'd come home to walk the straight and narrow."  Damon says telling us his story but he stops when he sees Kia sleeping. "Perfect. Our savior's insane and narcoleptic." Damon says. "No, no, no. I'm awake. Let me guess You killed the pregnant woman. " Kai says making me laugh. " He totally killed the pregnant women." I say moving his legs and putting them on my lap as I sit down and I smile at Kai. "Shut up, Kai. You weren't listening." Damon says, while glaring at me. "I was listening in my sleep. You were hanging out with your distant nephew Zach, who you called uncle Zach because that's not confusing. Plus pregnant lady Gail, who had a big bull's-eye on her chest. Got it." Kai recaps the story as he sits up. "Tell me you didn't kill a pregnant woman." Bonnie says to Damon. "Oh, that's totally what happened. Why else would today be his personal hell? Oh, here we go." Kai says as Damon goes at him again. "The only reason that you're alive right now is because I thought you could get us out of here and you could help us, but you don't have any answers. You're just a man-child with jam on your fingers!" Damon yells pushing away the Jam jar. "Ok then. To get home, we'll harness the power of the eclipse using a mystical relic. It's called an ascendant, and it looks like this, Damon. The last time we had it was in the pacific northwest. Oregon." He says opening the book Bonnie got him. "We?" Bonnie asks him. "It belonged to my family. So here's a little blood to get you started. Now, all we need is a locator spell to pinpoint its whereabouts." Kai says cutting his finger. "Think you can find our ticket out here, Bon Bon?" I ask her. "Hell, yeah." She says. Damon went outside making paper air plans as I stayed with Kai and Bonnie. "Nas ex viras, sequitas sanguinem. Phesmatos tribum nas ex viras, sequitas sanguinem." Bonnie says doing the spell but my witchy instincts tells me something is wrong so I stand up and go over to them. "The blood's moving towards Virginia. That can't be right." Kai says and I eye him, knowing he's hiding something. "Uh-uh. The spell's working. It's showing me Mystic Falls." Bonnie says. His jacket. "It feels so Close." I say turning their attention to me. I step right up to Kai looking him in the eye. "It's right here." I say putting my hand on his chest as the flames on the candles burn bigger before relaxing. "Very good." Kai tells me. As he pulls it out of his pocket. "That's the ascendant?" Bonnie asks. "The one and only." Kai says. "Thanks for the mind games, jackass." I say walking away from him with my arms crossed. "It was just another little test to make sure Bonnie's magic was precise enough for the spell. I do believe you're ready. Pack your bags. We're going home." He tells us and we head outside. "You're wandering around like a crazy man why?" Damon asks Kai when we all get outside. "I'm looking for the exact right spot. We need to find where the power of the eclipse is focused." He tells us. "You could've just shown us the ascendant, to begin with." Bonnie tells him. "Yeah, but I wanted to feel El's hand on my chest." Kai says. "There's something not right about him." Bonnie says. "You're just jealous he's hitting on El and not you." Damon says nudging me. "You know, I can't wait to get out of here and talk to somebody else." I tell them walking up to be next to Kai instead. " Hey. What's up with the nature walk?" Damon approached me and Kai. "I used the ascendant to figure out where we need to be standing during the eclipse." Kai tells him. "Great. Let's do some magic, get the hell out of here." Damon says. "Oregon." Bonnie says. "What?" "I've read this paper, like, a thousand times. There's something in it about Oregon." She goes on. "What about it?" Damon asks her. "You know, Kai said he had all those brothers and sisters?" Bonnie asks him. "Mm-hmm." "'Family massacred in Portland' The only one missing was the oldest boy, a 22-year-old named Malachai." Bonnie says as Kai and I had stopped walking. "Who names a kid Malachai? It's like they expected me to be evil." Kai says from next to me. "All these kids were murdered." Bonnie says and I walk over to her. "Hello? Not everyone died. I had a soft spot for one of my sisters. Otherwise, I would have cut her lungs out and not just her spleen." He tells us. "What?" Bonnie asks him. "You can survive without a spleen." I add in and he points at me nodding. "Exactly." He tells me. "Something tells me you're not speaking hypothetically." Damon tells him. Kai moves over to us and points to the pictures on the paper. "Well, these two, I, uh, hung off a stairwell railing. Then I put a hunting knife in her abdomen, and him I drowned in the pool. He kept fighting me. I was like, 'I saved you for last, you ungrateful little'. Anyway, that was that." Kai says. "You just killed your whole family?" Bonnie asks. "Coven to be precise. Oh, you know, a family of witches." Kai tells us. "You've been making her jump through hoops, and you're a witch?" Damon asks him. "Sort of yeah. No powers obviously. Oh, and of course, Gemini coven did not take it too well when they heard what I did in Portland. That's why they banished me here." Kai tells him. "This place is a prison. They created it for you." I say. "Yep! This isn't your hell, Damon. It's mine." Kai says. "We're not letting Kai out of here, ok? He just said he's a serial killer." Bonnie says. "I don't care. I want to get out of here." Damon says. " Me too." I say looking at her. "How can you two not care? Maybe because of all the horrible things you've done? Maybe because killing a bunch of kids is not a big deal to someone who's murdered a pregnant woman and someone who kills people in her free time? Am I wrong?" Bonnie asks. Damon goes back into the story finishing it. "Ouch. Poor nephew Uncle Zach." Kai says from next to me. "Stefan compelled Uncle Zach to forget about the girlfriend and the baby, but he couldn't cover up all those murders. The founders' council was restarted, and Stefan took off, left Mystic Falls for about 15 years. We both did, and then when I saw Uncle Zach again, I couldn't look at him without remembering that I had ruined everything, so it was a nice relief when I got to kill him. Ok. Can we go back now?" Damon tells her. "Oh, come on, Bonnie. You want to go home to your friends, I want to go back and give the rest of the Gemini coven an excruciating death. Win-win." Kai tells her. "Look. I know this guy's not a model citizen, ok, Bonnie, but I got to get back, not just for Elena but for my brother." Damon tells her. "I'm sorry, Damon." Bonnie tells him making me sigh. "Sorry doesn't work for me." Kai says grabbing bonnie but Damon push's him away and holding him against the wall. "Hey. We might be having a bit of a disagreement, but don't ever lay a hand on her." Damon tells him. "Kind of a nonissue now. Missed today's eclipse. Rain check for tomorrow." Kai says. "No." Bonnie says walking away. * * * * * * * * * * "Shame eating?" Damon asks Bonnie as I was trying to convince her to bring us home. "Thinking about that pregnant lady. She had a thing for pancakes." Bonnie says.  "That's what you remember?" I ask her. "He remembers it, don't you? You make pancakes every day." She tells Damon. "Because I'm bored." He tells her. "No. Because you're punishing yourself. You called this place your hell. That means you feel remorse." She tells him. "That's what makes you different than Kai. It means there's hope for you." Bonnie finishes. "Look. We can still get out of here, Bonnie. We can just steal that ascendant contraption, find out what Kai knows. We'll ditch him. Because he doesn't have any powers anyway." Damon says. "Actually, it's not that simple." Kai says once he over herd us. "You got to stop doing that. It's creepy." I tell him. "Here's the thing. I have a peculiar effect on magic. I can't generate it myself, but I can consume it from others temporarily. Family called me an abomination. That hurt my feelings." Kai says grabbing Bonnie and Siphoning from her while hurting Damon. "Unh! Ok. We get it. Ugh." Damon says as Bonnie groans in pain. I stay where I am in shock. He's a siphon like me. I thought I was the only one. "You can see why my coven and I didn't get along." Kai says looking at me. "I smell an ultimatum." Damon says. "If I consume all of Bonnie's magic, I am just gonna end up killing her, but if we work together, we can all go home as friends, or I can devour her magic, kill you both and go home taking Elizabeth with me. What's it gonna be?" Kai says eating Bonnies pancakes while giving me a smile.
