As agreed I met the Rebellion at the location just before the veil into Sparkonia. Godric told me that he didn’t want to tell them that there is a chance that they might not be able to stay there, but Irinduma said that it would be unlikely since I am going to be there as well.
I grab the Book of Prophecies to show my mother, because she has the resources that we need to beat the Elders and I’m not going to take no for an answer, and this book proves that she can help.
I am glad that they are able to teleport there, because it is the quickest and safest way to get there. I’m not too happy about going back since we only left a day ago, but we don’t have any other choice.
“Ok everyone, let’s see if we can all go in together or if I can only take two in at a time.” I say grabbing hold of Godric and Derek’s hands.
Everyone held hands since Irinduma had already put everything in a spot in Sparkonia where no-one will find it.
We all walk in and I notice that everyone is in Sparkonia. “That was really weird.” Hank says turning back where we just come from. “We can see out clearly as if there is no veil or shield there, but a few moments ago you couldn’t see this place.”
“Are we able to leave?” Rebecca asks turning in a full circle, looking at everything.
“You can, but you won’t be able to get back in without me.” I say and walk down the road to where I know is a small village that is before the castle and where there are soldiers. “It’s not far, but we have to walk.” I say when I know that they are following.
We finally get to the village and I notice that everyone there does what they always do when I arrive, just stand and stare at us.
“Who are they?” Daphanie asks sounding scared.
“Just ignore them.” I say.
I go over to where I see the soldiers standing next to a fully decked out carriage with beautiful silver horses with rainbow coloured tails, and three carts, I’m guessing for the Rebellion.
As we get closer to them they turn toward us. “Can we assist you Princess?” One of them asks.
I don’t like that they call me Princess, but I’m not about to say anything, I need them to take us all to the castle and I don’t want to walk.
“Yes, I want you to take all of us to the castle to see the Queen, I believe she is expecting us.” I tell them not wanting to say too much, Irinduma said that she sent a message to her mate to tell the Queens Silver Guardian that we had arrived.
“Of course, and allow me to help you into the carriage.” He says and walks up to me to assist me into the carriage that was in front of them.
“It’s fine, they will assist me.” I say sounding annoyed.
Godric grabs my hand and moves me toward the carriage. The soldier gets onto the front of the carriage, while Charlie, Godric, Derek and I get into the carriage. The soldiers motion for the others to get into the carts. As soon as everyone is in the carts the soldiers get in the front.
“Please hold on, we are going to go quite fast.” I hear the soldier say to everyone in the cart.
They all nod and he takes off, saying that they were going to go fast is an understatement and I can tell that not all of them were ready, I am going to have a word to my mother about this, her soldiers can’t treat the Rebellion like they are beneath them.
We get to the castle a lot quicker than I had gotten there previously, but I am glad because that means that we won’t need to stay there long.
We are greeted by more soldiers, who help us out of the carriage and the carts and escorts us into the castle, even though I know where we are going. They take us to the Throne Room.
Godric stays quiet because he knows that I’m not happy to be here, but I have no choice but to come back since I am the only way they can even get in.
“You have returned.” She says smiling down from her throne, looking like a beautiful Queen, you can see the authority she has, but she also looks elegant.
I know that the smile on her face isn’t real, but I’m not going to say anything, I know that starting an argument won’t solve anything and will make it harder for the Rebellion to be able to stay here.
“Yes I have.” I say with a smile on my face and then mumble. “But not because I wanted to.”
“And who are your new friends?” She asks not letting her smile or appearance falter, appearing to be ignorant of who they are.
“This is Charlie.” I say pointing at Charlie. “He’s the leader of the Rebellion.” I continue with the whole fake facade.
“It is a pleasure to meet you your majesty.” He says bowing but not taking his eyes off her.
“Like wise.” She says and if possible smiling even wider. “How can I help you?” She asks.
“Are you serious?” I ask furiously, I can’t keep acting all happy when she acts like she doesn’t know why they are here, when she does.
She raises an eyebrow. “Yes I am serious, I am always serious.” She says with that same smile on her face.
“We were made aware that you would be willing to keep us hidden from the Elders your majesty.” Charlie says still bowed.
“You are correct and I am only doing this for my daughter, if she wasn’t the one that had come and asked if you could seek shelter than I would have denied your request.” She says smiling at them all as if it is perfectly normal.
She can’t make it about me. “You can’t be serious!” I yell at her. I feel Godric try and calm me but I’m not going to let him.
“Oh I am very serious.” She says calmly, but I can tell that her façade is starting to falter.
“You can’t state that the only reason your letting them stay is because of me, it’s not right.” I yell angrily walking toward her.
“But it’s true.” She says still seeming very calm, but not as calm as when we first walked in.
“If it was true you would help.” I snap at her. “You know you can, you have the power.” I continue and just in front of the stairs to the thrones.
“Yes, but this isn’t my fight, and it’s not yours either.” She says standing.
“You can’t tell me it’s not my fight and you can’t say it’s not yours!” I continue to yell at her, all she does is raise both her eyebrows. “You just don’t care your only doing this because you want to be seen helping, but all you’re doing is wasting our time.”
“Selaria it’s ok.” I hear Charlie say, trying to calm the situation down, and then glances at Godric as if asking for help.
“No it’s not ok.” I say to him and then turn back to my mother. "You’re a leader so act like it. Be the Queen they need, not the one that just does this for her daughter.” I say to her calmer than before. I know that I need to calm down but she isn’t helping the situation though.
“I’m sorry honey, but there is nothing I can do.” She repeats, sitting back down on her throne.
Whatever allowed me to hold back before was just destroyed. “You’re sorry? There are loads you can do, you just won’t help!” I yell at her.
“If there was something, I would do it.” She says a little more strongly than before.
I can see in her eyes that I am starting to get her frustrated. But I’m not going to stop, we need her help and I am going to get it.
“If there was something you could do? What you don’t think there isn’t anything you can do?” I say to her acting shocked. I start walking up the stairs to the thrones and continue. “You did nothing for me when I was growing up and needed you, you did nothing when my father died, you didn’t even try and help, all you did was stand around and watch it happen.” I say when I finally got up to her.
I notice that the guards haven’t moved, and I realise that it is because she didn’t let them.
“I would have done anything to be there for you and your father, but I couldn’t because there was nothing I could do.” She says gently and sitting down on the large throne.
I sigh but I’m not going to give up. “You have more magic here than the Elders have at the academy, you have ten times the power here than the Elders have combined with all the people at that academy and all the ones that serve them faithfully, you just have to use it.” I say to her, I know that my yelling is only making it worse, and I can’t afford that.
I sit beside her on the other throne and place my hand on hers. She looks at me a little shocked. I know that everyone else is also looking at us, but I don’t care I need her help and I’m not going to take no for an answer.
“Trust me if there was as much power here that you state there is, then I would have used it to save your father, but I’m afraid there isn’t.” She says putting her hand on top of mine.
I reach into my bag and pull out the book of Prophecies. “If there isn’t then this book is lying.” I say and place it onto her lap. “If you don’t believe me, read it and find out. I’m not asking you to do something that is impossible I’m asking you to help us fight a common enemy.”
“Where did you get this?” She asks looking at me extremely shocked and paling slightly.
“It doesn’t matter, what matters is that you can help us, but you choose not to.” I say to her.
I can still feel Godric still trying to stop me from getting too angry, but it is the anger that I need to get through to my mother, we need her help.
“It does matter, this book has been lost to us for centuries.” She says looking down at the book. “Call Marcus we need him back here and we need him back here now!” She yells at one of the guards that are near her.
I don’t know who this Marcus guy is, but I am hoping I might be able to get him to help me get her to change her mind and help us with the Elders.
“I know you can help us, you know you can help us, so why won’t you?” I ask her trying another angle and seeing if Godric’s way will work and calm down.
“I will consider helping you once Marcus gets back here, until then my answer is still the same. No.” She says looking up from the book to me and notices that I have sat on one of the thrones.
I’m not going to get up and I’m not going to say anything that might jeopardise this, I am hoping this Marcus guy would help me with her.
“He has arrived your majesty.” I hear one of her guards say.
I hear the great door opening and can just see a bit of the person, I don’t have a clear view of him. When he comes to the front he wears a grey cloak that covers his face.
“Marcus thank you for coming.” My mother says standing when he stood in front of us.
“You called for me my Queen.” He says bowing.
I know that voice, I have heard it nearly every day since I was forced to go to the Academy. But it can’t be possible, no-one can leave here because of the veil and the shield, but I know that he is my Instructor. This can’t be that Marcus, there is no way it could be that Marcus.
“Marcus?” I ask hoping my fears aren’t going to come true.
He looks up shocks, as he looks at me and then he turns to my mother. “Your Majesty may I enquire why you have summoned me?” He asks my mother directly.
“I have summoned you here because my daughter Selaria brought me The Book of Prophesies which you were meant to be looking for.” She says standing and making her way toward him. I stand up and walk over to where Godric is standing and grab hold of his hand.
I’m not about to let Marcus get into trouble for something that had appeared to me. “It doesn’t matter who brought it to you, what matters is that you help us win the fight against the Elders.” I say enraged and walk toward them.
Marcus looks shocked not just because Godric is in the same room but also by the way I spoke to my mother.
“I’m sorry your majesty.” He says turning back to her and bowing his head.
“Charlie my men will show you and your people where they can stay. Selaria please stay I would like a word with you and Marcus alone.” She says looking at each of us as she spoke and then nods to one of the guards that are along the wall.
“Excuse me? Whatever you want to say to me can be said in front of them.” I say ignoring the look that Marcus is giving me.
A few of the guards walk toward the door and open them for the Rebellion, so they can go through.
Charlie nods to me and bows to the Queen. “Selaria it’s fine, you can join us later.” Then he smiles and walks toward the guards.
Godric squeezes my hand and says through the link. “It’s going to be fine, try not to jump down her throat every time she says something.”
I nod and walk back up toward the thrones, the one I had sat in was comfortable, and sit back in it.
The moment everyone leaves, my mother turns to me. “I get that you aren’t happy with what happened between your father and I, and you think I could have done something. But if you ever speak to me the way you did before ever again I won’t hesitate to throw the Rebellion out or personally hand them over to the Elders.” She yells at me.
I raise an eyebrow I had a feeling she was going to start on me the moment everyone left. I feel Godric and Irinduma wanting to jump to my defence, Godric is getting mad at the way she is speaking to me and the threat she is making.
Before I have a chance to defend myself Marcus jumps in and says. “Your Majesty you may want to be a little lenient with her.”
We both turn to him and yet again before I can speak my mother growls at him. “Excuse me?”
“Well your Majesty, if you ever met Elder Zarconian you won’t be getting upset with her.” He says looking down. He takes a deep breath and looks up again and straight at my mother. “She’s lost everything and he is trying to control her because of her powers.”
“What?” My mother and I ask at the same time.
Is that why he is giving me so much time to morn my father and why my father died? Why did he want my powers, how does he even know about what I can do? I haven’t shown anyone, I did everything my father said and don’t let anyone know what I can really do.
“I’m coming back in.” Godric says through the link.
I can feel that he was on his way back and I can sense that he isn’t alone in coming back, Derek and a couple other guys are with him.
“No, stay there.” I tell him through the link.
“Do you think that’s why my dad was killed?” I ask Marcus standing up and walking toward them, before my mother can say anything.
“Yes, Elder Zarconian saw your aura both at your home and in his office.” Marcus says turning toward me. “He knew your father was lying to him, but when you came to his office, he saw something else, something more powerful and he wants it.”
“What do you mean, by him wanting her powers?” My mother asks looking between Marcus and myself.
“All I know, is that he knows she’s stronger than what she is letting on.” He says looking at her mother. “But he believes that she may not be aware of how powerful she really is.” And that’s when he looks at me. “How did you get here?” He asks me.
“I’m stronger than what I have been letting on, I can teleport.” I say looking at both of them. “My father told me not to let anyone see how powerful I really am.”
“Well from what he has told me about your aura, there is something around it that is confusing him.” He says turning to me. “He said that there is a ring around your aura, but he’s never seen it before.”
“Could it be because we are linked?” Godric asks through the link.
“Yes and now that I’ve linked with her, it will be going to confuse him even more.” Irinduma says through the link.
“So what you’re telling me is that I am going to be even more in danger of him than before?” I ask.
“Possibly, he may keep a closer eye on you, but I think we may find a way to use that to our advantage.” Irinduma says.
“Selaria?” I look up and see both my mother and Marcus looking at me strangely.
“What do I tell them?” I ask them.
“Nothing yet.” Irinduma says.
“Yes?” I ask her.
“Where were you?” My mother asks, staring at me confused.
“You were talking to me.” Irinduma says through the link, but I can tell that her thoughts are elsewhere.
“I was talking to Irinduma.” I tell them, hoping they don’t ask any more questions.
“Oh ok.” My mother says and then turns to Marcus. “Is there anything that can be done? Maybe take her out of the academy?” She asks him.
“No that wouldn’t be a good idea, Elder Zarconian would send everyone out looking for her.” He tells her.
“Yes I agree, taking you out of the academy would be a very bad thing, for both the Rebellion and for you.” Irinduma says.
“Irinduma said that taking me out of the academy would be a very bad idea and that she has a plan, but she is still working on it.” I tell them both.
I make my way up to the thrones again and sit down before any of them can say anything.
“What plan does she have?” My mother asks, walking up to the thrones and sitting beside me.
“Not sure, she’s just working on a plan.” I tell her and put my head back and close my eyes.
“You need to push that you want to put your stuff in storage and have a funeral for your father.” Irinduma says suddenly.
“Marcus do you think we can get Elder Zarconian to let me leave the academy and have a funeral of sorts for my father?” I ask, looking down to where he is standing.
“What?” My mother asks.
Sometimes I don’t think she listens to anything that is being said, or she doesn’t understand anything that I’m saying.
“Irinduma said that I need to have a funeral for my father and put all my stuff in storage.” I say turning to my mother.
“You could ask him, I’m sure that he would say yes.” Marcus says sounding confused at my question.
“Good, well Irinduma is going through the plan with some of the other Guardians.” I tell them.
“Well if there is nothing else I believe we should be getting back.” Marcus says staring up at me with a knowing look.
“Yep we should go.” I stand and start going down the steps from the throne and toward the doors, when a hand grabs my arm.
“Be careful.” My mother says when I turn toward her.
I notice that she sounds concerned and she looks concerned. I know that I don’t know her that well and my father never had a bad thing to say about her, but still she was never there when I needed her.
All I can do is nod. I’m not going to hug her or tell her that I will be, because truly I’m not sure if I am going to be careful, I need to know what he wants from me.
