ALEXA’S POV.

Fear gripped me as I heard the news that my triplets, Lex and his family, would kill me if they found out about my pregnancy, and there was no way I would allow such a thing to happen. The sonographer was so happy for me.

"Congratulations, ma'am. I cannot remember the last time someone was pregnant with a triplet.

“Thank you.

I smiled faintly at her. I stood up and headed to the doctor’s office, but the sonographer had already sent a soft copy of my scan to the doctor’s email. By the time I got to the doctor’s door, I saw my guards standing by the door.

“I thought you both were supposed to wait outside? Why are you here?

“Mr. Lex was wondering why the checkup was taking so long; he sent us here to keep watch over you.

“I will be out in a bit but wait for me in the lobby.

“I am afraid we cannot do that; we will wait here for you. We are following strict orders.

“On whose order?

“Mr Lex.

I did not say a word to them because I knew talking to them at this point was a waste of time. I proceeded to the doctor’s office and sat down.

“They are outside my door, right?

“Yes, doctor.

My doctor was smart enough to lower the volume of her voice; we were speaking in a low tone so they wouldn't understand what we were talking about.

“You need to start antenatal care immediately; you are four months pregnant.

“ I am scared, doctor. What if Lex finds out about this pregnancy? It is clearly stated in my contract that I cannot get pregnant, and he still has no idea that I stopped taking contraceptives. Those people are evil; they would hurt me.

“How many months do you have to complete the contract agreement?

“I still have one more year to go, doctor, but by then I might have given birth, that is if they allow me to carry this child in my womb.

“You do not have to worry; I will make sure nothing happens to you.

“Thank you so much, doctor. Can you give me medications for the pain in my lower abdomen?

“Sure, I will do that.

After I collected the drugs from the doctor, I left the office and headed home. My heart was racing fast because I wasted time at the hospital, and I feared for what was to come. Lex might get upset and hit me for staying out longer than the time he gave me. I got to the mansion, and as the car drove into the driveway, my heart was pumping, and I almost thought I was going to have a heart attack. I tried to move, but each step I took was like a hilltop battle because my legs were heavy.

I got into the house and I saw Rex pacing around while holding his whisky glass. He looked so upset and furious. Tina was sitting on the couch close to Rex and she gave me a bad stare when I walked into the room.

“I am sorry it took me this long; I had to wait for my scan.

Rex slapped me before I could complete the words from my mouth and I fell to the ground. He was flying off the handle.

“You think you can do whatever you like; I gave you a specific time to come back but you disobeyed me!!

I was fed up at this point; I had had enough of his madness. I was tired of him treating me like a piece of sh*t.

“You just try to hide your weakness by hitting me; I can see through your eyes; no real man would hit a woman!! I am not your slave so I would not allow you to treat me as such!!

“How dare you talk back to me? Have you gone stark, raving mad?

Lex was so upset and he was vibrating. He tried to hit me again but this time, I didn't even know when I spoke out the secret I promised to keep to myself; it came out of my mouth and it was too late to take it back.

“I am pregnant!! I am carrying your child.

Lex froze; his hands were hanging mid-air as he looked at me in confusion. Tina, who was sitting, stood up when she heard what I had just said. Lex was weak at this point; I could see the vulnerability in his eyes. I thought he was going to bounce on me in anger but he moved back by two steps and fixed his gaze on me. I was still in the corner, trying to protect my face and my tummy so he wouldn't hit me.

“What did you just say?

“I am four months pregnant, Lex. I am carrying your child!!

“You w***e!! There is no way that baby can be for him, Lex, I thought you said you forced her to take pills each time you met with her.

Lex was dumbfounded; he couldn't say a word and all he did was stare in confusion.

“Say something, Lex!! You cannot allow this woman to pin that bastard on you!

Lex walked out of the sitting room and drove out of the house. It was uncanny because he was supposed to react negatively to the news of my pregnancy. Tina walked out on me and went to her room. I struggled to climb the staircase because of the pain I was feeling. I got to my room and headed straight to my bathroom. I turned on the shower and sat under it. I was crying my eyes out as I rubbed my tummy.

I was so scared because I didn't want anything to happen to my babies. Days passed without seeing Lex, and each time I asked my guards, they told me that he was always busy at work. After two weeks, I was in my room resting when I heard a knock on my door. It was Lola.

“Mr. Lex, ask me to give you this.

Lola presented me with a rose flower.

“Oh no, I don't think it is for me; he meant Tina, not me; Tina is in his room.

"No, ma'am, he specifically asked me to hand this flower over to Alexa.

I stood there, numb, wondering why Lex was sending me flowers. Was this a trap? I thought to myself.
