I must have needed the sleep because I slept until nightfall. When I woke up Lilly was sitting on the sofa in my room looking out the window at the night sky. I yawned and stretched.
She looks at me and smiles. “Wakey, wakey, sleeping beauty.” She says with a laugh.
I look at her and roll my eyes, “Last time I checked my name is not Aurora.”
We both laugh, then I get up and get dressed. I throw on a simple blue dress and tie my long blond hair into a ponytail. “Okay, let's go plan,” I say looking at Lilly with a smile.
We laugh and she gets up. We then walk together into the throne room. Eric and Brelear are already there waiting for us. Both standing over a table with our map on it.
As we get to the table Lilly looks over the map, “Wow, nice map.” I smile at her. “Eric and I made it.”
She nods once and smiles at me.
“Okay, so I think our best bet is to go to the closest realm and, then just work our way around in a circle,” Eric says.
I look at the map and then reply, “We should go to the South Eastern realm. That would be the closest to us right now. I think it's like a 5-day journey from here. At least it is by horseback.”
Lilly looks at me, “Wait are you able to ride horses with your, um, condition?” She asks not wanting to say curse.
I laugh and shake my head, “No, I learned that the hard way, and so did my horse. But while Eric was out finding you, I had the blacksmith and carpenter make me a carriage.”
Lilly smiles, “That might help with the no day traveling issue too. If we could find dark enough material to keep the windows covered. Then Brelear and I can ride with you. We can cover more distance that way.”
Eric says, “That's a really good idea. We can get those covered for the daytime, and then at night you two can ride your horses so the others don't tire out to fast.”
We all nod in agreement. This would be good; we would all be able to travel and make good time. The South Eastern realm was our best bet.
Eric and I discussed our food for the trip. “We can take things that won't go bad. I can cook so we will be fine.” I tell him.
The next week we spend preparing for the trip. I repack all my travel things. Lilly washes and repacks as do the others. We are all prepared to go.
Finally, all the bags are put on the carriage and the horses are readied. I leave my most trusted advisor in charge.
“Talan, I trust you over anyone else that advises me. I must go on this journey. It is a life and death situation for me and others. I leave the Kingdom in your hands. I don't know how long I will be away. I can only say that I will return.” I tell him.
He nods and agrees to uphold my father and my law. We all rest that night and then wake up before the sun rises the next morning...
