She swallowed hard, staring into the Night through the windows, a single tear hanging at the corner of her eyes, and with a blink, she gave into it, crying , wishing her situation was different.. ***** MIA Mia is a pretty and petite girl, She’s 16years old and attends Eden High school.Her mother, Lucy, worked in the school’s kitchen, and that job was the only reason Mia could attend Eden High. Mia moved through Eden High with a quietness that wasn’t shyness—it was simply who she was. She could hear everything perfectly, footsteps behind her, teachers calling instructions, the loud chatter in the hallway. She just couldn’t speak.Her lips parted sometimes, as if words were forming, but no sound ever came. Lucy noticed that as a baby she could only cry and laugh but not make babies gibberish sounds. After a series of preliminary tests carried out by the doctor it was discovered that she had an oral structure problem associated with laryngeal issues and this affected her speech. Lucy was devastated, this condition was treatable, the doctor said. After performing different surgical procedures, Lucy decided to let her baby be and not risk her life any further with more futile surgeries. Mia has some very distinctive features, her very quiet and innocent appeal, her pointed nose, round but sharp looking eyes, toned skintone and her pouted lips which makes her look attractive. She isn't the athletic type, she found it so difficult to even carry out simple tasks and training in the school's compulsory gymnastics classes. She hated that class.Gymnastics class was never her forte. While the other students hopped onto the beam, Mia would grip the edge and pull herself up slowly, arms trembling. She tried, but her balance never cooperated. A few classmates exchanged looks or hid laughs. Mia pretended not to see them. She is very sharp witted and smart and never needed to attend a special needs children’s school. As a child, on the playground kids rarely wanted to play with her and always kept their distance from her. Now in high school, Where she truly belonged was the music room. She’d sit by the speakers or the school keyboard, tapping out beats she’d built in her head. There, nobody asked her to talk. Nobody asked her to explain. They just listened, this was one of her Favourite places to be in. As Mia tries to open her locker, two girls stroll past. “Careful,” one whispers loudly, “she might be mute, but she can still stare at you.” They laugh and walk off. Mia doesn’t flinch,she simply slips her AirPods on. She’s been bullied her whole life and tries not to loose her cool except when necessary. One time, a girl had intentionally dropped Mia’s old AirPods and broke it, expecting Mia to cry out or act scared, Mia turned and walked to the art room. Seconds later, she returned with a little bowl of paint. Without hesitation, she tipped it over the girl’s head and walked away, smiling as she heard the girl screaming her lungs cussing at her and running to the bathroom to get the paint off her hair and clothes. This time it was Cassie and her group of cheerleading buddies.. Thud”.. a loud sound came out as Mia was pushed against the door and into the school’s storage room where musical and Gym equipments where being kept. Mia tried to scream but couldn’t and just kept hitting the door, she hoped the Janitor or teachers would hear the sound coming from the door, she kept hitting it but no one was coming to her rescue. The the only source of good light was the light from the hallways when the male lead stepped inside, The only light available now was the light from the the little window now. Mia quickly dusted herself up an got up from the floor after being pushed down, that was definitely not who she was expecting to see come to her rescue, or what felt like a rescue for the first couple of seconds because the door shut behind the male lead almost immediately after he entered into the storage room. Dammit he said as he touched his shirt and trouser pocket and soon realized he had left his cell phone inside his backpack on his desk and didn’t take it with him to the teachers office. Turning around ,Hey you! What are you doing in here and where’s your cellphone, call for help or something would you. Mia stands there, face pale, just looking at his figure in the almost dark room and just stares at him.
