Daughter of the moon

I woke up like every other morning with a wet patch on my pillow and crusty gunk stuck in my eyes. I'm not like normal girls that have beauty sleeps, I find it hard to sleep at all. I'm more awake when it comes to night and I usually start to drift off to sleep as I see the sun start to rise. "LAYLA!" Yup that's me, my name is Layla Parker. I have thick blonde wavy hair, a nice caramel tanned skin tone and my body...well... let's say it's not a figure you'd expect. I'm very fit and strong for my age, I love to run and I love being outdoors. My mum on the other hand who rudely interrupted my day dream about going to sleep, has been running around down stairs like a wild dog. "LAYLA GET UP!" There she goes again. As I roll myself off my bed and slowly make my way down the stairs towards my mum in the kitchen she jumps out of nowhere from around the corner and Infront of me she's holding a cake with 16 lit candles on top and a smile that stretches from one side of her face to the other. (s**t I forgot it was my birthday) "mum you didn't have to, now who's going to eat all of that? Only you and I live here..." It's been me and mum since I can remember. I can't remember my dad, and mum never talks about him. It never bothered me because there must be reason why and if my father wanted to know me then he can come look for me otherwise I'm not wasting my time on someone who doesn't deserved to be wasted on. "Thanks for the cake mum, I'll take a slice to school." To reassure her that I was grateful to have a mum who would bake me a cake for my birthday. "Did you need me to take you to school?" it's my first day at school today, we've recently just moved to this area. "No mum it's all good I'll be okay" Not long after I was on my way to school when I noticed something different...
