Joseph glanced at his watch, clicking on the tracker ID he'd put in Prerna's necklace. God, he hoped she was wearing it. It took only a few seconds for her location to appear. He transferred the information to his phone and showed it to Gian.
"Please tell me it's nowhere close to here," he pointed
to her location.
"I guess it's fifteen miles south of there," Gian said after a quick inspection. "Is there something I should
know?"
"Honestly?" he asked, then sighed. "Yes." He looked from the bush to Gian, "Something happened last night. Prerna was attacked."
"What was it?"
"A fae. A changeling specifically."
"And you're just now telling me this? That thing could
be-"
"Dead, Gian. It's dead. Something else killed it."
