Nikolai's POV
I stared at Justin, my gaze burning into him like fire.
My body trembled with anger, the wolf inside me demanding I release my fury.
But I forced myself to hold back. Justin shifted uncomfortably, his hands twitching as if ready to defend himself if I lashed out.
His voice quivered when he finally spoke.
“We...we searched everywhere, my lord. We interrogated the people we could find But lady Tera—she just was not there.”
His words rang hollow in my ears. How could she not be there?
I had felt her presence, her scent, even if it was faint.
She was slipping away, but I was certain she had been close.
Was she avoiding me on purpose?
“She was there,” I half-yelled in a cold but steady tone. “I felt her.”
Justin blinked, confusion etched on his face. “Felt her?”
