DESIRE  The rain pattered on the roof as I placed Tara on the bed and tucked her in. She requested for me to sing her her lullaby and I did. Twice. Her eyes fluttered close, her chest rising steadily. Seeing as she was going to sleep, I got up and was almost out of the room when she spoke up. "I miss daddy," she said softly. I turned to see her eyes wide open. "Oh honey!" I walked back to her bed and perched beside her. "But he hurt you mummy, he made you cry. I don't like it when you cry." She whispered sadly, her eyes tearing up. "It's okay, baby. Daddy did make me cry but you shouldn't be mad at him because he loves you a lot and I'm not mad at him anymore." Lies.
