Chapter 22 WTF

    "What the actual f**k was that? I will rip her head off!" Liz was shouting from far away.  

"Calm down sweetheart we will figure it out.  You're fine. You are the one who broke the rules." 

    "Don't give me that s**t she almost killed me. Alex, you don't want me dead right?" 

    Then Silence.  Thank God for the silence Violet thought.  Then noise again why is it so muffled Violet thought.  Why is it all blackness? Blackness and pain so much pain. Sleep, I just want sleep.   

    "Dad, when will she wake up it has been ten hours?"  Eli sounds like he is in pain I should reach for him. Nope sleep that's what I need.

"Son did you know she could do that?" 

    "No dad I had no idea. What is happening?"  Eli, I am okay I just need sleep I am so tired. At least I don't hurt anymore.

"Christoph, how is the Alpha?" 

    "She is healing well Elder Rupert. We are just trying to understand this power."

"We think it has to do with her being a female Alpha born of a female Alpha.  She is just more special then we thought." I am not special I was just mad and lost control. Damn it wake up Violet come on.

    "Good evening Dr. Gable. Why is she still asleep?" 

Eli, who hurt you? Why do you sound like you have been crying? Wake up, Violet!

    "She is healing well Eli.  She is comfortable. All I can think is that the use of that power has drained her. I am sure she will wake in time."  

Then there was nothing just blackness and sleep. 

    "Vi, Can you ever forgive me for not believing you. I am so sorry Vi, please just wake up." Eli pleaded to an unconscious Violet.  "Violet, Liz has been manipulating Alex. He thinks he is in love.  He needs you, Vi. He turns seventeen tomorrow you have got to wake up it has been four days." Four days? How could it be four days?  Not Alex! Wake up Violet! Wake Up! 

    "Wake up!"  Violet's eyes shoot open with her whispered hoarse voice. She then looks over at a crying Eli and her heart breaks for her mate. She reaches for him and places her hand on his cheek.

Eli looks up and more tears fill his eyes. "You're awake.  Oh, Vi, I thought I was losing you." He stands up and leans in to kiss her forehead. "I will get the Doctor please stay awake while I am gone." He rushes out the door.  Violet looks down and looks at her completely healed leg. Thank goodness for the healing power of werewolves Violet thought.  Her head hurts and her mouth is very dry but she feels ok.

    The door opens and Violet turns to see Cora looking at her. "Hi Cor," Violet says weakly. "Happy to see me?" Violet added sheepishly.

    "Violet you had us all worried.  How do you feel?" Cora walks over to her best friend and sits down grabbing her hand.

"Actually I feel great," Violet says still hoarse. "I could use some water though my throat is so dry."

    "Here" Cora gives her a water cup. "Drink slowly. So do you remember what happened?"

"I remember going to training, running the path. Then Liz caught up." The door suddenly opened and Violet got quiet as her room started to fill up with people.  She saw Eli and an older lady in a lab coat, then Elder Rupert, and Christoph.

    "Nice to see you awake Violet. I am Dr. Gable.  How are you feeling? Any pain anywhere?"

Violet replied, "No I don't hurt. I am just really hungry if I am honest." 

    "Having an appetite is a good sign. Can you tell me what the last thing you remember is?" Dr.Gable smiled softly.  

    Violet tried to swallow but once again her mouth was dry. Soon the cup reappeared and she realized Eli was right next to her again. She took a drink then answered the question "I was sparring our guest Liz." Her name came out like acid on Violet's tongue. "She broke my leg. Then told me I was too weak to be Alpha. I then was overcome by rage.  I lifted her up by the throat with my mind I think and then I passed out from the pain and that's all I remember." Eli grabbed her hand and squeezed.

    "Good Violet. I don't think there are any brain injuries. She is probably better then she was before the incident.  Violet did you know you could do that?" Violet shook her head no. "My theory is that you used a lot of energy concealing this power and when you felt threatened you finally let go.  This depleted you physically and mentally because you were wounded. Being unconscious gave your body a chance to strengthen. You can go back to the packhouse in a few hours." With that Dr. Gable left the room.

    Elder Rupert spoke next "Violet we have been doing research on wolves with powers and there was only one other.  She is also the only other she-wolf born of a female Alpha.  Unfortunately, she died at nineteen by the hands of her own father who was scared of her, so we don't have much to go off of. We believe this has to do with the power of your bloodline. We are very happy to have you as our Alpha and we will help you as best we can." 

    "Elder Rupert what can we do about Liz? She is dangerous I can feel it deep down." Violet said with urgency.

    "Oh, Child she is just a rogue who does not know how to be a part of the pack.  However, after her trying to hurt you, she is not allowed to train on our lands. So take heart she is being watched and will do you no harm." Elder Rupert replied with a reassuring smile.

    That is when Cora spoke up "With all due respect Elder Rupert, I think you are underestimating this Liz.  I have been watching her for weeks and she is often sneaking into places she should not be.  She insults your Alpha on regular bases and now she hurt her and all you are willing to do is stop the girl from training. More should be done does Violet not have the choice to banish her?" 

    Elder Rupert spoke looking Cora up and down. "You are human correct?" Cora nodded "hmmm, interesting.  I see where you are coming from dear but, Liz has been campaigning with the younger more impressionable wolves in the pack it will turn them from Alpha Violet and we want her to succeed.  We must play it safe." He then turned and walked out the door taking Christoph with him.

    "Cora, do you know who that was?" Violet asked her best friend.

"Yes, but he needed to here who this Liz really is. Plus I don't like that she has sunk her claws into our Alex." Cora looked at Eli. "How do we help him to see?"

    "I don't know every time I try he gets mad and says she told me you didn't like her. I want my brother back." Just then the door opened and in walked Alex.

    "Alex." Violet said looking at her adopted little brother he looks so much older all of a sudden.

"Hey, Vi." He said looking down. "I need to talk to you but you have to promise not to use the force on me and I want to do it just you and I." 

    Violet giggled with the mention of the force but signaled the others away. "you can talk to me about anything." 

"I know you want to get rid of my girlfriend Vi. I don't know why you hate her so much but you can't banish her." Alex said pleading with his big puppy dog eyes.

    "Alex I don't know what she has told you but I don't hate her. I don't trust her and I am worried about you. I could care less about her." Violet looked at Alex and felt she was pushing him away. "Why is it so important to you Alex?"

    "I think she is going to be my mate.  She says that she can feel the bond because she has phased and I think I can sort of feel it just not very strong yet because I haven't phased."

    Violet looked at sweet little Alex he was not himself not playful and no light in his baby blue eyes. "Alex, I don't know if that is true.  I feel she might be using you."

"She told me you would say that." Alex spat. Violet reached out to him but he pulled away. "It's okay you can't send her away anyways, because we mated so now she has to stay it is the rule." Alex then turned and left the room. 

They did what? Violet could hear Eli in her head.

Huston, we have a really big problem.  Violet linked back and for the first time since all this crazy wolf stuff she wished she was human again.
