Completed- Look for Book 2: Dr. Luna Queen

Noah hates doctors but not everyone knows why. He has lost faith in doctors and stayed away from one if he could manage it. However, what would happen when he meets the new doctor in his life who seems to awaken feelings he buried deep a long time ago? Second chance mates don't exist. Right?

Andrea always wanted to be a doctor because of her past. She achieved her dream only to get an arrogant man as her first VIP patient. For some reason he infuriates her to no end. She's always been professional so why can't she seem to be the same way with him?

What happens when these two meet? Will Noah accept her? Will she accept Noah?

*He couldn’t shake the feeling he had when he looked into her eyes. He couldn’t like her, no not after what happened. He wouldn’t let himself. He couldn’t let himself. It wasn’t fair to her, the one who left him.*

Ch 1: Andrea
“Dr. Brown.” I turned around to see that the source of the voice was my best friend and trusted nurse, Angelica but I like to call her Angie. “How many times have I told you to just call me Andrea?” I ask, rolling my eyes but knowing her answer. “Well DR.BROWN, this is a professional setting and I know you love being called a doctor any chance you get.” “I mean I guess, NURSE Angelica.” We look at each other and break out laughing.  “So what’re we doing after work? It’s FRIDAY.” She asks as we step onto the elevator and presses the button for the first floor. I pretend to ponder deeply with my hand under my chin.  “NETFLIX!!” We scream at the same time. Thank god the elevator was empty or people would stare at us like we have an extra head growing somewhere. “It was a long day today and honestly a little wine wouldn’t kill me. In fact, I think I might need it,” I sigh exasperated. Angelica looks at me carefully and assesses if there are any injuries to my head. She squints her eyes and then shakes a pointed finger at me. “Who are you and what have you done with my hardass of a best friend?” “Oh please! You and your drama. Do you want to or not?” “Oh hell yeah, you know me, always down for some Netflix and wine” she says as we step off the elevator. Don’t get me wrong I love my job. In fact it was my dream for as long as I can remember. It is so damn awarding but today was a total nut show, leaving me completely drained.  We are about to leave the building when I hear someone yelling behind me for a second time. “Dr. Brown! Dr. Brown!” I turn around while praying for it to not be another thing for my to-do list only to spot Sam, my receptionist.  “Sam, calm down and catch your breath. No one is after you.” Nodding, she takes a few deep breaths before continuing.  “Sorry Dr. Brown, I know you’re about to head home but I just wanted to give you an update. A VIP patient has been added to your schedule for tomorrow,” she informs me looking apologetic. Angelica and I glance at each with the same look of confusion on our faces. “Sam, you know I don’t take patients like that, VIP or not. My schedule has been booked solid for weeks now, how did this patient even get on?” “I’m sorry Dr. Brown. I know, but this patient has connections. The chief gave specific instructions to add this patient to your schedule as soon as possible.” What in the world was the chief thinking to add a VIP patient to my schedule? I haven’t even been here that long. I mean it’s an honor that the chief even thought of me but aren’t there more qualified doctors who have been here longer. I decide to not think about it further because it’s not like I have a choice now. The chief gets what the chief wants. “It’s okay Sam, I understand. Why don’t you go home and get settled. Once you do, forward me any information you have on our VIP patient. Don’t sweat it and I’ll see you tomorrow.” “What was that?” Angelica echoes the question in my mind.  “I don’t know Angie but the chief knows better than to do this to me. My schedule is crazy as it is, the last thing I need is some VIP person acting like they own the place.” I sigh.  I don’t have anything against VIP patients or “privileged” people, but what I do have something against is using said privileges to obtain something that other people would have to wait and work hard for.  “She so owes you for this.”  “You took the words right out of my mouth” Angie and I go straight to my apartment and pop open the wine bottle before we can even settle down. Now, normally I wouldn’t indulge myself this way, but after the day I had and then the news Sam broke, I feel like this is the only way I can get some peace and sleep. “What’re you thinking about?” questions Angelica. But before I even open my mouth, she stops me.  “Wait, you know what, nevermind. It’s probably about work and I am trying to forget that.” Did I mention how well she knows me? I was in fact thinking about the news Sam gave me before I left. I am a fairly new doctor but with how famous our hospital is, it didn’t take long for my days to grow as hectic as they have. I barely have time for myself, let alone anyone or anything else. I can’t say that I haven’t enjoyed myself because I spent years toiling to get where I am right now. Especially after my family ... Not wanting to dive further into THAT, I turn my thoughts and attention toward my now tipsy best friend who is on her second bottle. I roll my eyes and then smile at her. Before she gets totally drunk, I take the bottle from her and put it out of her reach. “Hey! I wasn’t done with that yet!” she says, starting to slur her words.  “You’ve had enough Angie, you do know you work with me tomorrow, right?” “Oh, whatever, let a girl live a little.” She tries to get up and take the bottle from me but is already wavering. I go to hold her still. “I AM trying to help you live.” I say the words slowly. “Do you want me to drive you home? I only had a glass of wine, so I should be fine.” She waves it off. “It’s fine Drea, I know you probably want to knock out. I’ll catch a cab.”  I ordered an Uber before she even reached downstairs and made sure she got in the car in one piece.  “Text me when you get home safe and sound!” I shake my head at her knowing she’ll be complaining about her head tomorrow at work. I went upstairs and had just taken the key out to unlock the door, when I got a notification.  An email from Sam.  Hmm, let’s see, our VIP patient is some dude named Noah Hunter. I hope you don't disappoint Mr. Hunter
