As he walked back to his room, Justin’s face gradually turned into a frustrated one. For f**k’s sake he didn’t want to leave at sunrise like he had said earlier. He would have preferred staying for about a week before heading out but no, some b***h wouldn’t have it!

Immediately he had entered the village with kulin, the system issued him a task telling him to acquire fifty thousand manbres in the city in the next 3 days! How the f**k was the system expecting him to do that? He wasn’t Bruce Wayne that had millions at his disposal! That b***h!

Well since he was about to go to sky feather city, he had to definitely upgrade some stuff. He sat upright on chair and summoned the black screen. It was time for some upgrade!

His strength had risen because he upgraded it with 30000xp along the way. That was why he was able to threaten harold's bones unlike earlier when he could only stop his punches.

Now what could he do with the remaining 20000xp he had…? He didn’t feel like upgrading any of his stats. He kept thinking until he noticed something, under the listed stats there was something else. Lvl? It showed lvl 1. What could that mean?

“alright let’s see” as he tapped, the screen brought up a message *level up for 5000xp?* “level up?” alright one level up couldn’t hurt right?

*Host has reached level 2, all stats raised by 2*

A notification came up with the words. “my stats have been raised?” he said as he went back to confirm

“woah nice!” The system had been scamming him all this while. He had to spend 30000xp just to raise his strength stat by 6 points when he could accomplish the same with lesser the cost and higher the efficiency. He could swear this system didn’t like him!

“hehe, it’s upgrade galore from here” a crooked smile formed on Justin’s face as he tapped the level up button for the second time.

*level up for 20000xp?* the familiar notification pooped up with not so good news. “what!” for f**k s sake how did it change from 5000xp to 20000?! “hmph! Full it Imma just go upgrade my intelligence” Justin snorted and upgraded his intelligence by 4points, wasting away the remaining xp he had.

He could feel himself getting smarter as he upgraded the intelligence. Like he could beat the best chess masters you know? He was feeling real smart!( Bullshit!)

The last and final thing he did was to upgrade the fire dragon skill. It was really helpful these days. No one knows when the next challenge would come up.

The fire dragon skill was upgraded to level ten leaving him 30sp left which he decided to save for another day. It was time to rest now…he had had a really tiring day.

Guard Susan and Guard Ontario stood by the village gate doing their ever so boring jobs. The other guards had left since the two were the ones on duty today.

“ugh when’ll it ever end” Susan stomped her leg on the grassy floor in frustration.

“ugh it's so boring…let’s play a game” she said staring at Ontario

“what game?” Ontario asked

“hmm, I don’t know…truth or dare?” Susan replied

“well, it wouldn't hurt to play so rounds. Let’s go” Ontario was down for some. He was bored too and it had been a really long time since they last played a good game. Back in the days he was called the dare master.

“alright, so I’ll start. Who was your first love?” Susan asked as a knowing smile plastered her face.

Ontario blushed and coughed a few times “ugh, do I really have to answer….”

“hehe, you have to…I didn’t make the rules” Susan shrugged her shoulders. Her face as crafty as a snake's

“Alright, uh uh. Well my first love was….” Ontaro cleared his throat, getting ready to spill the beans.

“Well…continue…?” Susan urged him on

“my first love was…a…a centipede!” Ontario’s eyes widened in horror as shock filled his face.

“what?! Your first love was a centipede?” Susan didn’t take the answer well since she was expecting something else.

“No dummy, look!” Ontario said and turned her head back since she had been facing him.

“Holy cow!” Susan's mouth dropped open as she witnessed a spectacular scene.

Thousands of human sized centipedes were revealed under the moon’s light. They marched forward, some of then shrieking occasionally. There was a particularly striking one among the similar looking centipede’s.

It was huge, nothing more needed to be said to describe it other than…huge! Like almost 10 freaking metres! It seemed to be the one controlling the rest.

“sound the alarms! Summon the others to activate the protection barrier!” Susan yelled at Ontario and the two immediately got to work. This was the first time something like this was happening. The village shaman was right. They were experiencing the invasion of the night beasts!

The village was quiet since the people had all gone to rest. But the silence was short lived. The loud sound of a horn reverberated throughout the whole village. A red flare was sent into the sky as the horn kept blowing.

“ all guards report to the gates, we're under attack!” ontaro‘s loud voice was heard and the resting guards immediately got to their feet. “huh? What’s going on?” some were confused but still carried their weapons and reported to the gates. The sight waiting them wasn’t a lovely one.

Justin kept turning around on his bed since for some reason he couldn’t sleep. He awoke to the sound of the horn with sleepy eyes. Before he could even get to his senses, someone barged in his door and kulin’s frantic voice came with bad news “we're under attack justin!”
