Love, Blood and the Moon

3rd Person POV: Jay and Brian walked into the school, the casual onlookers as they walked past. The co-captains of the football team, the most popular guys in school. That meant one of them was supposed to be dating Sasha, but Jay didn't really like her.  She was a stuck up pretty princess because her dad owned the school, even though Brian's parents were the mayor. But of course, Brian was head-over-heels for her. The school dance was coming up and Jay had a feeling Brian was going to ask Sasha to go with him.  Jay took in a deep breath through his nose. A new smell. He never knew why but he could smell everyone, they all had distinct scents. There was a new one, she had walked down the hall towards the office. "I'll catch up bro!" Jay said, "Don't wait up." Jay punched his arm. Sasha was walking up the hall towards them, Jay pushed him forward.   "Alright, alright! I'll do it now!" Brian said. Jay smiled. He headed towards the office.  Once there he saw her, the new girl. She had golden ringlets that sat in the middle of her back, bright green eyes and sweet features. She was the most beautiful person he had ever seen and immediately felt a pull towards her.   "Ah, Mr Criket. Can you show our new student around?" Mr Glreen said. Jay nodded captivated by the new girl. "Lillie Lovegreen, this is Jay Criket. He is the co-captain of the football team." Jay stuck his hand out and sheepishly she took it up shaking his hand. There was an electric buzz as their hands touched briefly and they pulled back.  "Nice to meet you," she said as they walked out of the office.   "The pleasure is mine!" Jay reassured her. He showed her around the school completely enchanted by everything about her. The bell rang overhead.   "I have to get to class, but I have practice after school. Feel free to swing by. Hope you find your first class," Jay said. She smiled sweetly as he ran away before she could reply. He wasn't the same as the normal teens around here. He wasn't as mean as she expected either. She turned away and headed to class smiling at the memory of his chocolate-brown hair falling in front of his face with that sweet, goofy smile of his. She bit her bottom lip, I think I might see you at practice!  The day went by as Lillie expected, slow and excruciatingly embarrassing, but still, she looked forward to seeing Jay. From what she had heard they had practice after school, and she planned to watch. She snuck into the stands next to the field to sit and watch Jay as he played. She assumed that the blonde-haired boy with blue eyes was Brian, his best friend as he had told her. A girl with fiery red hair walked up and kissed both boys on the cheek, Jay pulled back reluctantly. She stood next to Brian holding his hand looking longingly at Jay. His brown eyes looked up to Lillie and she blushed as he smiled making his way up to her. "Hey, you came!" "Yeah. To be honest I had fun this morning. But don't tell her that!" Lillie pointed to Sasha. "Oh, don't worry about her. That's just Sasha and she is dating Brian anyway." he smiled. It was hard to imagine him as self-centered as the other popular boys had been at her other schools, and she liked the change.   The pull was still there. The unspoken feeling that they both felt.
