The meeting
19 years have past sense Adelaide and Theodore made their home on the outskirts forests of the tiny human town of Ninx. After Theodore fled the kingdom with baby Adelaide as the kingdom was being overtaken by lycian rebels, the queens only option was to place her baby, in the care of her bodyguard Theodore’s care.
Theodore had sworn to care for Adelaide until one day they could save their kingdom.
Adelaide now 19, lead her horse and cart down a worn path through the forest towards the pond. The sun was just beginning to rise, dew still covered the ground and the air was crisp. Her Lycian was restless this morning. She was sure a run through the trees, would help.
This is where Theodore had raised her the past 19 years. She stood 5’7, raven hair reaching her back, half pulled back with small braids throughout. She looked like a viking worrier. Her body was strong, as Theodore had started her training at 4. She had to be prepared if they were ever found.
As she approached the pond she knew that she wasn’t alone. Another Lycian was close by, next the smell of copper enter her nostrils, “blood” she thought, as well as the smell of a string mustiness of cedar wood, MATE, her Lycian cries out. I
She removed the hood of her green cloak as she tied her horse to the nearby fence post. Gently tuning her hand down his neck to assure the horse.
As she tied she used this opportunity to glance around to find where this intruder was. She knew he was Lycian, he maybe injured now, but he would be healing quickly and she needed to find him before that happened.
She followed the sent to the tree line that entered the deep forest on the far side of pond.
The smell was attracting her, she walked closer, “ I know your there, show yourself”
She spoke out as she laid her hand on top of her sword. She saw little movement and decided it was now or never. She had been trained for the day the intruders came.
Mesha her Lycian yelled in her head “you’d better not kill our mate Ada.”
Adelaide answered, I will protect our home at all costs.
KLAUS
He had no idea where he was they never ventured this far north, but he was bleeding. Those 6 Lycians really took a number out of him. He had managed to kill half of them, he was sure he had enough time to lay and heal himself.
He’s wounds across his back were deep, he should have expected them to attack when his back was turned. “Cowards” he mumbled to himself.
That’s when he heard the horse and cart. Looking up he saw the tiny figure with a moss green cloak, he was drawn to her. The way her hips moved had he entranced. By how she was moving she was carrying weapons. Was she with the evil king? Or apart of the rebellion he didn’t know?
As she tied her horse to the fence she pulled her hood down releasing her raven dark hair, her high cheek bones, plump lips and lavender eyes.
But when her sent of vanilla and earth reached him, his eyes glowed, MATE his Lycian roared in his head.
He wasn’t healed all the way, but he knew he must be near her. What if the Lycian guards came now, there was no way she could fight all 3 alone.
He heard her call out, but lost in his thoughts, within seconds she was there standing over him, sword to his throat.
She had moved she quickly he wasn’t expecting it. “State your name”. She hissed at him.
“ you plan to kill me, mate.” He laughed. She didn’t find it funny.
ADELAIDE
He was massive, even for a Lycian, he must be close to 7 feet. He muscles rippled through his torn shirt, she craved to touch them.
His hair dark brown, strong jaw line and his eyes were so ice blue they almost looked white.
She could see his wounds healing, and she needed to be prepared for what this Lycian was looking for.
Then she heard sticks breaking in the distance, more lycians coming in fast. Judging by his expression they weren’t his friends.
“ hide” he growled, standing even as the tip of her sword still at his neck. She removed it placing it back in its holder. He gently pushed her behind him, sending sparks through both of them.
He turned to get a look at his surroundings, needing to make sure his mate was safe. When he checked back she was gone from sight.
He could still smell her slightly, so he knew she wasn’t far. He wasn’t sure if the Lycians would smell her.
“They are here, I will protect you at all costs” he whispered
