Chapter 24
Kiera found it easy to leave Washington D.C. and head west to Berkeley, California. The physical therapist cleared her and instructed her on some strengthening exercises. She submitted her resignation papers with the CIA. There were no fanfare or great speeches. Director Thompson shook her hand and wished her luck. The following day she arrived at her parent's ranch and research facility. The place was located on a sprawling 10-acre site in the Claremont Canyon Regional Preserve area. It made a wonderful location to conduct research for the University and the Government. Since most of the work involved top secret, the government provided security for the research lab.
