Aftermath

Lina P.O.V I sat there as my mother looked at me. " I want you to know that getting you out was always the plan. When your dad died it broke me. I became hard and I was in denial. I assumed that if he was dead you were too. I'm so sorry for everything. I was so depressed. When Gage tried to r**e me I lost all control. He got so close if it wasn't for your dad intervening when he did. Even then Gage made him believe he saw something that was out of context. I couldn't stay and be accused of that. So I left. Then after a little while your dad contacted the former alpha of this pack and that's when I got involved. He knew I was here after that and apologized and begged for forgiveness. He couldn't drop his duties and be with me so he hid it away. We planned and even though it seemed fool proof",she paused. "Someone alerted Gage. After that, I felt the bond sever and that's when I was sure you had died with it",she finished. I stared at her taking all of it in. "So you didn't know I was still alive?" I looked at her " No Lina, I had no clue. If I had we would've fought way harder. We had someone searching but she died before we could get any information", she said solemnly. " Maribel", I said. We both looked up. "Please Lina, give me a chance. Let's go talk, have a drink and see what went wrong and get to know eachother". As much as I wanted to stay angry, I couldn't. I've been on that side of Gages wrath. If I could escape, I suppose I would too. I don't have a kid to really judge her situation so I agreed. We walked out and made our way to where she stays. Alpha Aaron P.O.V I went down to the kitchen to get a drink. It was already noon but damn this kinda day does things to someone. I sat there at the table when I saw them walk by and walk out. Completely ignoring my existence. I guess I deserve that. If they left to go talk then that's what matters most. Dom came and sat beside me. " Women huh", he exclaimed. " Let's go through everything your dad and I finished coming up with while you were dealing with whatever that was",he suggested. I got up and headed to my office. My dad was there waiting for me. " Don't worry son. I've let go of your mom long enough to see what that conversation is gonna be about". I smiled. " Thanks dad, but I trust Lina and she needs this time away. She just found out her mom was here I don't wanna ruin that for her", I said. We looked at the journal my dad has been writing in. " Son, this is something you need to look at for sure", he said. Beta Duncan P.O.V I'm not sure why Alpha can't let this girl go but it's really getting on my nerves. I never agreed with everything he would do in the past anyways but threatening family will have you doing everything against your morals. Here I was outside Silver Wings Pack observing from within. Thankfully I had an insider but that wasn't enough. He wanted the outsider and I to go back and confirm things but he wasn't thinking straight at all. So I sent her back and I stayed. As soon as I find a way to get that girl I'm leaving. He won't let my mate go without the girl so I have no choice. He's still heavily guarded or I would've killed the bastard already. I don't understand this infatuation he has but it's making him crumble. I'm tired of being in the middle of it. I just need to wait for the right moment. Lina P.O.V we were sitting on the porch of my mom's small cottage. It's just her so she doesn't need space. She handed me a glass of wine. "Hard to believe I'm having a drink with my daughter",she exclaimed. "Where would you like to start?" I asked. "Here comes Maya let's see what she needs", my mom said pointing. "Do ya'll mind if I join you?" Maya asked. "No not at all", I replied. She sat down beside us. They both sat there listening intently to what I had to say. I talked about everything after dad died. Even the painful encounters with Gage. All the way up to Maya and what she did for me. As I finished I looked up to see my mom's tears. "Mom there wasn't much you could do,"I soothed. "I know but it's still hard to hear that my daughter endured something that was meant for me", she cried. "Honestly Sheila," Maya started. " I don't think it would've mattered much. His interest in her would still happen even if he succeeded with you". We all took a drink of our drinks. " I think we need something a little harder. How about a cranberry vodka?" my mom suggested. We all laughed walking inside. We sat around the kitchen table talking for a while. Mom told me about everything she'd done and also promised to start training me. She also wants to see my new wolf, which I hadn't seen yet. I haven't even shifted. I was stuck in that pack house and with as much stress as I went through, my body couldn't handle it. Atleast I have people here who care for me and are willing to help me through. I smiled
