¥¥¥¥ Day 1 of training: ¥¥¥¥ Gylador tossed me a wooden sword and I outstretched my arm to the right, easily catching it. I swung it around, just to get a feel of it, but Gylador's disapproving stare prompted me to stop my unnecessary idling. Spoilsport... "Strike me." He commanded as he held his sword infront of him in preparation for the attack that he thought would be coming his way. I certainly wasn't planing on doing a thing he said. What kind of teacher cuts straight to battle without teaching the basics first? "Aren't we suppose to be doing the basics?...How to hold a sword, how to-" "Strike me." He repeated, still holding his fighting stance. I glared at him. "Suit yourself then. I hope you can take the shame of losing against me because I'm a pretty good swordsman." ...And that was what I called bluffing without thinking. I hadn't even touched a sword aside from the wooden one I have in my grasp. Heck, I have never even seen one. But what I can say though, is that I can feel the fire...you know, the fire that says you're definitely gonna win? Yeah, that's what I feel...who knows, this rush of adrenaline might be the work of the past lucifer within me. My powers must be coming back to me. I don't know where my confidence came from, but I knew I had it and with the sword's hilt held with both hands over my head and the blade pointing backwards, I rushed forward. However, once I was close enough and ready to attack, Gylador made one hard strike and smacked the sword out of my hold with his own, extinguishing the little fire I had blazing within me. My wide eyes followed my sword's movement through the air and by the time they swept back towards him, the tip of his sword was already pointed at my neck. Okay so maybe my powers aren't coming back to me... I slapped the sword away from me in irritation. "How do you expect me to win when you practically move faster than I can blink?" I scowled, glare still trained on him even as I walked over to the spot where my sword landed. "I expect you to put in a little effort to use your brain. You can't just rush forward with so many openings." Gylador countered, twirling his sword around like an expert. Showoff! "Well how about this for effort!" I quickly snatched the sword from the floor and sent it flying in his direction. But the grin that was slowly forming, wobbled off my face and I watched in utter disappointment as Gylador swung his own sword, tossing it aside as if it was nothing...and he wasn't even looking. "You're going to have to do better than that." He said, finally glancing my way. "Pick up your sword. You have alot to work on." Frowning, I reluctantly dragged myself over to my sword and took it into my hands despite not wanting to. Before this, there was a small part of me that thought this training thing might be a little fun along the way, but now, that thought can kiss my ass. This isn't fun when I'm losing. "Hold your sword infront of you, bend your knees a little and place your left foot ahead of the other." He demonstrated the stance, "then look closely and follow everything that I do." I gave him a slow nod, not bothering to hide my growing disinterest. ¥¥¥¥ Day 4: ¥¥¥¥ Gylador swung his sword and I quickly blocked his attack, but he didn't ease up on me, he swung again and again, speed increasing each time. The strength behind his attacks were powerful, so powerful that I was forced to move backwards. "Keep your stance strong, your sword firm and your eyes on my movements." It was like that for a while, me defending and him attacking as if I had nine lives...until for the thousandth time in four hours, he swung at me and I attempted to block by slanting my sword across my chest, but the powerful impact from his attack, shoved me backwards, forcing me unto my backside against the floor. "The only thing you're doing is defending. Have you forgotten that you need to attack to win?" Gylador scolded, helping me up by the hand. Frowning, I yanked my hand out of his hold and brushed off the back of my clothes. "You think that's easy? I'm fighting against you, remember?" "Stop whining. Read your opponents movements and find an opening." "Fine." I wiped the sweat off my forehead with the back of my palm and retook my stance. This time, I'll definitely get him. ¥¥¥¥ Day 7: ¥¥¥¥ Getting closer, Gylador made an overhead attack. I blocked it with my sword above my head, but his strength had me struggling to keep it in place. Knowing that my hands would soon give out, I glided my sword downwards so it slipped off the tip of his own before I quickly sidestepped and swiftly swung at him, aiming at his side. But right at the last minute, Gylador gripped the end of my sword with his bare hands, stopping it from hitting him. "That's cheating!" I frowned as I drew back. "Is that what you're going to tell your opponent in the midst of a fight?" "No." I panted as I moved to sit on the floor, sweat trickling down my skin in incessant waves. "...but I almost hit you, why the hell did you let your hand butt in?" Then a low but audible sound that I never thought I'd hear, filled my ears....Gylador chuckled, like really chuckled. Knowing how stupid I am, I would've thought that I had chuckled without realizing but the evidence was there...his smile was lingering on his lips. I gaped at him. "Did you just chuckle?" His smile instantly faded. "You did!" I laughed. "It's time for your bath." He attempted to change the subject as he averted his eyes. "I'll tell Delari to wait in your room to dress you." My good mood soured. "You can't keep inviting her into my room! Blue balls will freaking kill me!" He furrowed his brows. "What?" Realizing my very stupid mistake, I slapped my hand against my mouth, eyes widening. Ah s**t! I almost praised him for being so stupid. I would've been so done for if he knew what my words meant. "What I meant was..." I tried to find words that would help my situation but the only thing that came to mind was another lie, one that would probably be very entertaining or worse case scenario, a total disaster. I cleared my throat as I shifted on the floor. "The endless amount of time I've spent training with you, has given me Womanorosis." "Womanorosis?" I nodded, doing my very best to hold in my laugh. "If I'm touched by a woman, I'll collapse." When his red eyes widened, I knew he totally bought it. Dumbass. "But she's been-" "That's because I just developed it yesterday. I'll have to lay off the girls for a while." "But-" "Do you want me to collapse and die?" I rolled my eyes when he didn't answer, "if not, I trust you'll relay my health status to her. I'll be dressing myself from now on." He was silent for a while before he nodded and moved to leave, though his expression still remained pensive. As soon as he closed the door, I grinned widely and fist bumped the air. Their stupidity has finally come in handy! ¥¥¥¥ Day 10: ¥¥¥¥ I turned sideways to avoid Gylador's attack then used my sword to slam his out of the way. Before he got the chance to strike, I spun on my feet and quickly swung at him. He evaded by leaning his upper body back a bit, but the sword still managed to lightly graze his nose. I felt it. "Well what do you know? I actually grazed you!" I grinned. Gylador's lips twitched upwards a bit as he straightened up. "After all this time I can finally say, you did good." "Of course. All that solo practicing for six nights straight can't have been for nothing." He nodded in agreement. "This time try to do a little more than grazing my nose." He said, readying himself for another fight. "Come at me." I wasted no time in rushing forward. For the first four days, I'd always get hit within the first ten seconds, but I'm proud to say that I can actually last up to a minute now. I went for his head and Gylador ducked, evading my futile attempt at hitting him. And without warning, his sword coursed forward through the air, surging right into my stomach. A surprised and pain-filled gasp slipped from my lips as I staggered back. "That freaking hurts!" I exclaimed, hands wrapping around my stomach as I bent forward. Gylador instantly rushed toward me...just like I wanted. My lips twitched upwards and as soon as he leaned down to examine me, I slid my foot across the floor, tripping him off his feet. Gylador landed on the floor with a thud. I quickly fixed my posture and guided the tip of my sword to his neck, watching in utter satisfaction as he grunted and rolled over. "You do know that doesn't count as a win, right?" He murmured. "Yeah. You bruised my forehead yesterday with that move. It's payback." I said smugly as I drew back my sword and aided him in standing. He opened his mouth to speak but the words never got to reach my ears. The door slammed aside and Wardrock came running in, alarm printed on his face. His wide eyes searched and found us, before he spoke, "Darkus is planning on eradicating all of Lucifer's followers!" I admit, I'm a complete i***t but even I could tell that we were currently in deep s**t!
