Chapter 3

The journey to the Dark Moon realm took me, Javier, and the other warriors roughly twelve hours. Since it was too late to travel tonight, we rested at a hotel a few miles from Dark Moon and traveled to the pack land in the morning. Javier and I walked to the balcony after supper to discuss our plans for tomorrow's Dark Moon. "Ana, are you worried about tomorrow?" Javier questioned me. I gave him a quick glance before turning to face the shining moon. "Really not. I'm most eager to visit my family and friends. When I departed, they must have been so concerned. They'll comprehend why you left,' Javier assured me. I replied, "I know, but I should have called them in the last two years." They can't be upset because your partner rejected you. In case your ex-mate's wolf took control and sought to find you, you had to depart and not get in touch with them, he answered. I nodded before getting off of my balcony chair. We should get some rest because tomorrow will be a long day, I suggested. Javier chuckled and remarked, "Can't wait for their expressions when they see the new you." I chuckled to myself and remarked, "Don't I know it?" to him. I then went to my room and imagined every possibility that might occur tomorrow. both the anticipation of visiting my parents and the unfavorable thoughts towards Ansel. I wanted to demonstrate to him that I was no longer in need of him, but curiosity overcame me. I questioned whether he had re-matured and whether he was wed. I pondered whether he had kids while I was still by myself and feeling lonely. Call me a spoiled brat, but I wanted him to suffer the same fate as me. Despite having a new family that I would do anything for, I was occasionally reminded that I had been rejected in order for me to discover them. The fact that he had obtained his ideal lifestyle while I was alone myself somewhat incensed me. I used to have this childhood fantasy of meeting my soul mate and falling in love with him. I desired to marry, have children, and have a flawless life similar to that of my parents. On the day of my eighteenth birthday, a few simple words brought all of my aspirations and goals crashing down. I had been referred to as weak by Ansel, and even though I didn't want his words to bother me, they were what allowed me to succeed. What would have occurred if he hadn't rejected me that day has always been a mystery to me. Even if I were to fall in love, I would never again have the connection of a soulmate. In anticipation of the new day, I easily fell asleep with all my rushing thoughts. The following morning, we loaded into our vehicles and drove to a breakfast joint before heading to Dark Moon. I updated the warriors on the plan for the next two weeks in the pack while I was surrounded by them. Meredith, Skylar, and Asher, you will assist the alpha and his warriors in organizing an assault against the rogues pursuing Dark Moon. The Midnight pack's basic training is being used to train the warriors, Ryker, Logan, Valerie, and COnyx. I told the soldiers. "I will participate in both the planning and the training of the warriors with Javier." The unanimous response from them was "Yes Beta Kane." "Ok. I told them, "Let's leave right now; I don't want to be late. We traveled to the Dark Moon Pack after paying the check. My heart began to race five minutes before the pack since I was anticipating seeing everyone from my previous pack. Javier glanced across at me from the driver's seat and said, "You ok? I didn't say anything, just nodded at him. We arrived at the pack grounds by car, parked, and then got out in a line. Show them the new Analise Kane, the one who doesn't take crap from anyone, the one who joined the beta of one of the most potent packs, Javier added as I stared at him before I exited the car. I flashed him a menacing expression as I turned to face him. Let's start this shitshow off, I said. Together, we made our way to the main office and the alpha's room. As we walked, I glanced around to see that not much had changed while I was gone. The pack itself has undergone some renovations, but other than that, my old pack essentially looked the same. I was still concerned about my parents' response despite Javier's assurances that they would understand my sudden departure. I had always been their little girl, and I had left without telling them why I had done so in person. As soon as we arrived at the office, I buried my emotions and put on a stern face for my ex-partner and former pack members. Before we entered the room, I gave myself a brief pep talk. Everyone in the office had ceased their work, and my warriors had moved to the side so that Javier and I could enter. I immediately noticed my ex-friend, who was standing there looking perplexed. I took advantage of his shock and allowed myself to rapidly examine his current appearance. He still had his brunette hair, but unlike the boy-band cut he sported in high school, it was short today. A five-o'clock shadow had developed on Ansel's face, which nevertheless had a chiseled appearance. He continued to have a very identical appearance to that of two years prior, albeit with some aging. I turned away from him and focused on the other guests in the room. My old pack's beta and gamma members, Jaxon and Maddox, along with Ansel's father, the former alpha Onyx, were all in the room and they were all staring at me. After a brief moment of disbelief, Ansel questioned "Analise" carefully. I smirked as I declared, "The one and only."
