Chapter 3

2023 Words
It had been two weeks since Ahmed's death. Shad family overcame the tragedy and returned to its previous state. But his absence left a big hole in his family's heart.  Whatever happened or whoever had come and gone, Ashrah's life didn't change slightly from the poor servant position. She had been serving everyone like they were her masters while she was the slave they bought from a slave market.  Ashrah was cleaning Fariyah's bedroom, her eyes caught a packet of something lying on the floor.  “What is this?” She bent down and picked up the packet. She examined the packet in her hand, “I have seen this before but,” She thought for a while, and she got it “umm...where...yeah, in bhai's wardrobe.” She apprehended as it's something related to the men. But, how did this lay here now? She hadn't seen anything when she cleaned last night. “Maybe bhabhi took it out to remember bhai.” She thought to herself.  She strode over to the wardrobe to place it back when her name called out from behind, “Ashrah,” Fariyah came out of the washroom. Her eyes focused on Ashrah's hand. “What is in your hands?”  “It's a packet, bhabhi. I guess it's bhai's. So I am going to place it back.” Ashrah said, extending her hand towards her.  Fariyah's eyes widened in astoundingly. It's a condom!  Within fraction of seconds their last night s*x flashed in her eyes, it was awesome! Her lover made her feel want him more and more. But she failed to destroy the traces of their wild passion filled night. But here, she was lucky. Because her sister-in-law was an i***t, she didn't even know what it was. And what was it used for? Therefore, Fariyah was lucky.  Fariyah snatched the packet from her hand hastily and Ashrah couldn't help but ask, “What is that, bhabhi?” “Ah...nothing.” Fariyah threw it to the floor, “Clean here well.” She walked towards the closet to get change. She knew that if she hid it, Ashrah would be suspicious about it. But she didn't notice one thing, her sister-in-law had already gotten suspicious about it from her facial expressions. Even though Ashrah wasn't a genius to read everybody's lie, she wasn't a fool either not to understand what happened before her eyes.  After making sure Fariyah was not there, she took the packet and hid in her clothes. She wanted to know what it was.  *** “Do we need this? See, anything can happen here. He doesn't lose a chance to make us a history. So, you should think twice before getting inside.” Aezaj said the matter of fact as they're outside Marwan haveli.  Adham turned to his companion, Aezaj with a smile, “Aezaj, I have seen death before my eyes many times. In fact, I am grown-up with it which always follows me like a dark shadow. It never frightens me.” His metallic eyes shone in the reflection through the glass as if it gave an addition to his statement.  “You can stay here until I return. I don't need your presence there.” Adham suggested.  “That is not going to happen, bhai. Because I always want to be with you. Nobody can deny that, neither can you,” Adham chuckled after hearing him. Sometimes, Aezaj became a stubborn child.  “It is not about fear. It's about a man who is not even worth facing you. Because, Shazman Marwan is the worst person I have ever seen.” Aezaj felt the urge to wash his mouth after saying his name.  “I guess, we are much worse than him, aren't we?” Adham asked.  “Well, we are.” Aezaj couldn't help but agree with his brother, “But, I cannot fathom, why do you want to meet him now?” “Things grew worse beyond our expectation. He should perceive whom he is playing with,” Adham said.  “Obviously,” Aezaj nodded his head. “It will be a surprise for him.”  “I'd like to give surprises.” A wicked smile formed on Adham's lips. “But careful, he tries to trap you. He is a cunning man.” Aezaj still cared about his safety.  “I f****d up!”  Aezaj couldn't help but smile when he heard the swear words from Adham. He could only least expect a good word from Adham's mouth. If he penned it down, he could publish it as a dictionary of bad words.  Adham got out of his car and proceeded towards the mansion along with Aezaj. Neither the guards, nor the servants dared to stop them as they were passing. Adham stopped before a wooden door as he got to know that Shazman was here from a servant.  Adham turned around to Aezaj, “Stay here. I want to meet him alone.”  Aezaj briefly nodded his head, “So you want a special father-son moment?” “f**k you!” Adham spat it out before barging inside.  A raspy tone of an old man reverberated in the room as Adham spoiled their make out, “Who the hell--” Shazman's screaming stopped in the middle when his son stood there, “Adham!” Just as Adham's name slipped out of his mouth, the woman in minimum clothes who jumped up from his lap and ran out of the room.  “Your new witch?” Adham asked as he pulled out a chair and sat comfortably in it. “Seems like an imported one.” Shazman ground his teeth, “Who the hell gives the permission to get inside?” “Nobody wants to give me that because I am your second legitimate son. So I have all the right to come here.” Adham smirked knowing he couldn't deny the truth.  “I have never accepted you as my son.” Shazman said. “Neither am I,” Adham said curtly.  “Then, why are you trespassing here?” Shazman yelled.  “I want your wealth.” Adham said honestly. “Actually it's my grandfather's not yours. You only know how to spend it.”  “Adham.” Shazman raised from his chair, “Are you forget, where you are now?” Adham sat there as if his lifeless warning didn't reach his ears, “You should think twice before opening your mouth, young man. Or else you can't return from here.” “You have a filthy mind, Shazman. You don't have the balls to do it.” Adham said looking up to the old Marwan.  Shazman cursed himself for giving birth to this devil in front of him. He couldn't keep quiet after hearing this, so he said what makes Adham insane.  “Ask your mother, she would tell you, if I have the balls or not.” That's it! Shazman certainly touched the sensitive point of him.  “Goddamn motherfucking s**t!” Adham got up from the chair like a ferocious animal and pinned him against the wall, “This should be the f*****g last time you tell her name.” Adham's strong hold on his neck began to hurt. He felt like his air supply was going to cut off as he couldn't breathe well, “Stay away from my business, Shazman. I didn't forget what you have done to Husna. So, be in your limits. Next time, I don't give a damn who you are!”  He left the old man before he was going to die, and he walked out. As he was walking in the corridors, he heard a giggling of a little girl. He peeped in the room. “Adham, bhai!” A six years old girl ran to him and hugged him.  He took her in his arms, “How are you, Parveen?” “I am fine.” She kissed his cheeks as she was so happy to see her brother. Parveen was one of the step-sisters of Adham as his father did polygamy.  “Now you forget me, Parveen. I won't talk to you anymore.” Aezaj made his face like he was angry.  Little Parveen jumped out of Adham's hands and ran to Aezaj, “See, I haven't forgotten you.”  Aezaj kissed her cheeks, “My cutie, Parveen...” Adham walked towards the woman who was standing in the corner. She smiled, “How are you, Adham?” “Thanks, Roshni for asking about my well-being.” Adham said to his childhood friend. “I am good.” Roshni was his childhood friend, just two years younger than him. They were quite good friends then, but fate brought her as his father's third legal wife.  “I heard about your marriage and the bride's death.” She said meekly.  “Your husband had done everything.” He informed.  She didn't want to mention him between their talk. So she left it there. “Perhaps she wasn't born for you.” He chuckled, “I strongly doubt, is there anybody actually born for me? Because I haven't seen anyone in these years.” “Of course! Allah has already made your match with someone. I can assure one thing, she will be very lucky to get you as her husband.” He laughed out loud making her frown, “Why are you smiling?” “Nothing! I just can't wait to see the lucky one.” He said laughing.  “I wasn't joking. You will be a good husband. Because you are Adham Marwan, Zariyah's son ; not Shazman's.” His smile suddenly disappeared when his parents' names were mentioned. “I have to go.”  “Okay, but do visit here often. At least she will be happy after seeing you.” She said looking down at her daughter.  “Sure.”  He walked to his little sister and kissed her temple, without even saying a goodbye he left there.  *** Adham was too angry at his father. He didn't know how to take it out and how to make his mind calm. He didn't find anything as a peacemaker to his heart.  Aezaj was sitting in the passenger seat quietly as if knowing his brother's frustrated mind. He could read Adham's mind with ease.  Adham's crazy driving stopped when somebody walked in front of the car. He applied the break instantly.  “f**k!”  Aezaj got out of the car to check the shocked girl who was sitting in front of the car. Actually the car didn't hit her, but she was scared. She thought the car really took her life.  “Hey, are you okay?” Aezaj inquired.  She didn't reply as she was still in her position. After making sure she was alright, he picked up a piece of cloth which slipped out of her hands.  He looked down at the cloth which barely covered a condom packet. He frowned after seeing that, “Hope you are coming after your service,” he commented.  His eyes narrowed when he saw the girl was Ashrah. Actually she was going to her friend's home to get the packet.  He blinked his eyes to make sure if he was right or not. He looked at her from top to bottom as she stood up. His stares fell on her disgustingly.  “Why did you cover yourself as a modest woman outside when you are a wanton woman inside?” He asked, looking at her. She was wearing a burqa. He thought it's just a mask for a girl like showing the world she was modest. She could understand who he was. He was the companion of her brother's killer.  “Did they try to kill me?” Ashrah gulped down the lump as she thought herself. She wanted to escape from him before he could kill her.  She turned around abruptly and bumped into someone. She stumbled in the force. She looked up to the great barrier who stood in front of her. The same gunmetal eyes stared at her intently.
