CHAPTER NINE

"So? Care to explain to me what I found you two

horny souls doing outside the door?" Eileen said as she plopped herself on my bed, this b***h was just something else although I was three years ahead of her but she always acted like I was her age mate or whatever she meant.

"You're becoming all judgemental for nothing, that was Bruce"

"Ooh new in the neighborhood, haven't seen him before"

"Neither have I" I said as I struggled with the tight jeans

"And you were kissing him, the f**k is wrong with you Brianna, have you forgotten you have Ethan, are you cheating on him already?" Eileen asked and I almost sneered but I chuckled angrily.

"So you're all grown and free to judge me, listen Eileen no matter how old you are I'm still your elder sister and you have to respect me, you're not guaranteed to make harsh judgemental conclusions out of situations, yes you found us kissing so what? Are you gonna be my momma, to check on me and judge me the way you want huh?!"

"Hey sis, you're just being paranoid and dramatic for nothing, I wasn't judging you I was mad at you okay, I'm sorry for shouting"

"You should be Eileen, the only reason I called you here was to give you your damn Burger because I knew you loved them, I got it from the new restaurant, and to tell you that Bruce is Ruby's cousin, we met at the mall accidentally but he drove us back here, he kissed me and I kissed him back because I wanted to do it, and why I'm I even explaining things to you, it's not like you're mom. Anyways" I said angrily.

In as much as they said there's always siblings rivalry in the family, I knew I loved my younger sister so much although I hated her attitude some times, she would just become all dramatic for nothing, always judgemental and always thought she was the best, she forgot about me being her elder sister, but I couldn't allow her rule, disrespect and judge me, she had to show some respect and if she wasn't going to give it to me I would stop demand it from her

"I'm sorry Brianna, it wasn't intentional okay, I was just concerned" she said sounding apologetic and a smile tugged on my lips which I wiped quickly. I didn't want her knowing that I had forgiven her.

"It's okay, for your information Ethan broke up with me" I said as I wrapped my towel

"What?!"

"Yeah he broke up with me for my school mate"

"Really why would he do that?"

"Because I wasn't ready to have s*x with him, he is such a prick but I thank God he is out of my life"

"Gosh, some guys have guts, and here I was thinking he was a good guy"

"Well good guys are now the bad guys, that's what life is all about"

"Yeah you are right, so this Bruce guy are you into him?" Eileen asked and I laughed

"Really sis, we met like a few hours ago, I don't know but he sounds cool and he's such a cute"

"I haven't seen him closely, but I know you do have a taste" Eileen said while smiling and I laughed

"You'll see him maybe, if he is still around I don't know"

"Anyway thanks sis for the burger, and let me leave, you need to freshen up, mom will be here soon"

"And what is this all about, dinner with visitors, mom talking to me, I hope everything is fine"

"Well I don't know, mom will tell you what their plan is" Eileen said and she shrugged her shoulders which meant only one thing, she wasn't aware or anything going on.

After Eileen had left, I walked into the adjacent bathroom, filled the bathtub with water, I just wanted a warm soak after everything that had happened during the day. I touched my lips where Bruce had just kissed me a few minutes ago and I still felt his lips on mine, I fantasised about his touch, the sensation was just something else.

After about twenty minutes of sitting and playing with water in the tub, I heard my mom's voice from my room.

"Brianna we only have thirty minutes left before the visitors arrive, are you still in there?"

"Yes mom finishing up I'm coming" I said as I took my towel from the rack and wrapped it around myself, I walked into my room and I found my mom seated on the couch,a beautiful white mermaid dinner was placed on the bed with matching naked white heels with thin straps.

"Hey mom? I'm here"

"Yeah there's something I need to talk to you about, before we go out"

"Ooh okay mom I'm listening is this the dress?" I asked and she nodded I picked it and walked towards any walk-in closet to pick up some knickers. I chose the white lacy ones and since the dress was designed with it's own bra I don't need one, after putting on the dress, my mom helped me with the zipper. After putting on my heels, mom patted the space beside her on the bed which I gladly took.

"Brianna, my daughter,I know what I'm going to say might shock you or disappoint you but trust me we did this for your own good and your sister, everything you father did was to protect you and his family"

"Mom what are you driving at? What do you mean by that?" I asked looking confused

"Just listen to me my daughter, let me finish then you can ask your questions, so as I was saying,about fourteen years ago, you were still there years old,I was pregnant with your sister Eileen, almost seven months pregnant, I was involved in a car accident but i survived although Eileen didn't the doctor said my womb had gotten some complications and Eileen had to be born before nine months, she was put in an incubator for two months until she was able to cope up with the outside world, since then I was never going to get any child, I really wanted a son but I couldn't because my womb was destroyed in the process,I even thought your dad would marry another woman to give him a son but he didn't he said he loved me and wouldn't do anything of the sort, he was gonna be with me till death do us part, so to keep our family company going and strong, your dad approached his Friend, Dr Stone Clark, Ruby's Uncle, for a business talk and stuff, our company wasn't doing well by then and Dr Stone agreed to help us only on one condition" my mom said and kept quiet for while, I nodded to encourage her to keep on, I was listening tentatively but my heart was beating against my chest profusely at the mention of Ruby's Uncle I was hoping it didn't have anything to do with Bruce.

"So he agreed to let us merge our companies which was a great idea by the way, any one could go for that, so your dad agreed, Dr Stone said that to keep the company under the two families, we had to intermarry our children, his son was six by then, so they both signed a contract with me and his wife being witnesses, we agreed that you would get married to his only son to keep the company under our family and not to any stranger, I'm so sorry Brianna, I know we did not think about it but we were doing this for you and your sister, for us, it was a wrong decision to make and I would blamed myself, I wanted to tell you but I couldn't bring myself to tell you that,but for now I just had to because they called and said we should have a family dinner together so you two could meet and know each other,I'm so sorry honey" my mom said and I saw tears steaming down her cheeks, I knew it was ring but I pitied her, it was the only way out, I brought out my handkerchief and wiped her tears.

"You ain't mad at me are you?"

"No of course not mom, in as much as I wanna be mad at you for keeping this away from me, I feel the pain you both went through, it was the only thing a sane person could do, although I can't say I'm okay with that, I trust you mom and your decisions too, I'm just overwhelmed by all this, I mean I've only read this in stories and watched in movies but I never knew it would some time happen to me, it's just new to me I don't know"

"I understand honey, but please find a place in your heart to forgive us, your dad and I, we were doing this for you" she died while hugging me.

We remained in the same state for a whole before we heard a knock on the door

"Julia, the guests already here you need to hurry up" my dad said from outside

"We're done just two minutes honey" mom said and gave me a reassuring smile

"And Brianna is she okay?"

"Yeah she is fine, she's here" mom said as she opened the door

"Hey sweetheart are you okay?"

"Of course yes dad just a little but overwhelmed with the new and everything you know?"

"Yes honey I'm so sorry" my dad said and I felt like he was genuine

"It's okay papa I understand, let's get going before the guests wonder where we are" I said as I led the way to the living room with my parents behind me.
