Chapter Twenty Three Saturday Morning

486 Words
Grace We spend most of the afternoon walking trails and resting our feet in the pond water. Brennan hardly left my side. It’s been magical. When we first got outside an argument ensued about where to go and what to do. I didn’t much care actually. I was more intrigued when I caught Henry watching Sydney and then she caught him too. It was hilarious to see him flush red like that. It took everything in me not to laugh at him. Sydney even thought it was funny. I saw her smirk before she looked up at the sky again. Everyone else was oblivious which I guess is a good thing at this point because if Bryce knew he would sabotage it or ruin it or who knows what other awful thing he would do. I can’t keep defending him so I hope he just chills for once. Seriously. After too much sunshine we decide to head back inside and be productive before the party tonight. We make lunch and tidy up after last nights party. There’s not many people left here outside of our group. Not abnormal but definitely different. I still haven’t had the chance to talk to Henry about Bryce. It’s like he’s everywhere. Finally I can’t take it anymore. Bryce is walking around like he’s on the top of the world and I want to knock him down. “Henry can you come help me for a second upstairs?” I expect argument but he stands and nods. I leave the door cracked so I can hear anyone coming and sigh. “What’s up?” He asks. “I heard you and Sydney last night talking about Bryce.” “Eaves dropper.” “You like her now shut up and listen to me.” He stiffens but makes no move to interrupt me. “What if he’s got dirt on all of us? It’ll never end.” He nods and sighs. “What’s your point?” He finally asks. “What if we all came clean? He’d hold no power.” “We can’t force everyone to spill there secrets Grace. And we don’t even know if we’re right.” I sigh because I know he’s right. There has to be something we can do. I glance out the window. It’s nearly dark out. “Let the games begin.” I mutter going back downstairs. When we get there everyone in the exact same spot that we left them. Henry sits down and I watch him eye ball Bryce until Bryce catches him then he looks away at anything other then him. He needs to stop he’s going to give something away. I’m not even sure there is something to give away but still. I stand up and go into the kitchen. I need air that isn’t surrounded by evil monster men and hormonal teenagers. I’m starting to get a migraine.
