CHAPTER 13 A HELPING HAND Lisa crossed her arms to fight the strong wind as she entered the arcade and walked into a busy Carlton cafe on Sunday morning. She spotted Johnson and strolled over to his table with a warm smile. He leaned into her and kissed her on the cheek. The heat of his kiss lingered. “Take a seat and I’ll go grab coffees. A cafe latte for you and maybe a sweet?” She nodded. “Thanks, but just the latte’s fine.” Lisa sat down and watched the easy way Johnson walked. He held his posture with grace yet took large strides as he faced the counter. He smiled at the young, attractive server who started blushing. Lisa tensed and narrowed her eyes. She scolded herself.
