CHAPTER 14 A FUN OUTLET Lisa parked her car outside the Fernwood gym for her Zumba class a few evenings later. She leaned forward and picked up her rumpled Harlequin romance novel that was resting on the passenger seat. A bookmark lay in the middle pages. She opened up her glove box and placed the book inside. The romance novel was a great escape and immersed her in a world of possibilities, but that was where it stopped. She didn’t think that romance or commitment was in the cards for her. Yet a girl could dream. Stepping out of the car, she hugged her body tight to warm it against the cold, then entered the gym. The woman at the counter smiled as she accepted payment and ushered her towards her Zumba class straight ahead. Beating music reverberated in a nearby room. Shouts and loud
