CHAPTER 8 POLICE REPORT Lisa sat inside a doctor’s office at the hospital, hearing footsteps and voices outside. The sound of the doctor’s soft voice overlapped with the rough voice of a male. She assumed they were the police here to question her. The male voices drew closer, when the door opened and two men entered with the stout-looking doctor leading them. He gestured with his hands. “This is Lisa Shelny, the victim, but she’ll be fine. A few grazes and bruising that should heal in no time. I can’t speak for her state of mind, though.” One of the men, she assumed was a policeman, nodded. “Thank you.
