Chapter 33: The Board MeetingDavid switched his briefcase to his left hand and raised his right to knock at the blue door of the basement boardroom when Ardith came down the stairs with a determined look on her face. Was she upset because there hadn't been time for a drink?
“The maid gave me the directions.” The look in her eyes dared him to tell her she wasn't invited.
David grinned. He was glad she was here. Meetings with Jerry never went well no matter how many were present. He knocked on the door and then opened it as a hearty voice rolled out.
“Come in, David, we've been expecting you.”
Jerry was wearing a blue suit and tie and was at the door as they entered. He raised his eyebrows at the sight of Ardith, but swept her up into his arms.
