CHAPTER 1
Dressing up, Callie applies red lipstick that matches the dress she's putting on. Combing her hair thoroughly, she smiles at how beautiful she looked. Grabbing her fancy purse, She exited her room and walked down the stairs. As she passed by the large sitting room, Guards couldn't help but bow as they noticed her presence. Passing them a gentle smile, She walked on and out of the house. Climbing into her car, She switches the engine on and drives out of her mansion, Then off to the road. Humming the song Which was playing on the radio, Callie smiled and prayed inside of her wishing today will be far more different than the past weeks. She's been going from one date to another for about 3 weeks now, And yet she hasn't found someone that interests her. Was it their standard that was low or the look? Or even the personality they held. Their profile on the website says something entirely different from who they were. Even the mere lie about who they were was enough to piss her off, But what could she do? She has no choice, no option but to find a date before the new week runs out. Coming out of her car, She looked at the restaurant before her, The one she frequently comes to precisely; The guy must have good taste and be very wealthy Callie thought, a smile gracing her lips, as she walked in. Walking to a more discreet space which was less free for a table for two, Callie takes out a chair for herself and sits down, Breathing out, she drops her bag to the table and awaits her date. Minutes passed, and no sign of her date, Callie looked down at her wristwatch seeing it's been 30 minutes since she arrived; Callie picked up her phone, went to the website, and clicked on her supposed date profile where he hadn't replied to her last message, she sighed. Getting up, grabbing her bag, and just as she turned to leave, She bumps into someone… " Oh My God, I'm sorry " she apologizes immediately, Looking up to see the person, Her heart raced as she gazed at the young man before her, His face. Callie stares into his blue oceanic eyes, And his face, She sure swore it was the most beautiful thing she had ever seen. " Going somewhere? " The young man spoke and she blinked, snapping out of her thoughts. " Yeah, Sorry again" She murmurs and he looks at her. She licks her lips and gently steps aside, Walking on her heels. " Callie ?? " The young man called and she stopped on her track, She arched her eyebrow then turned around slowly, Seeing it was the young man who called her. " How? How do you know my name ?" Callie asked and he walked up to her " I figured you should be my date " he murmured looking at her and she couldn't believe her ears " His date ?? " Callie thought. " Damien ?? " She asked to be sure and when he nodded his head in positivity, she couldn't believe it. " Oh My! "She covers her mouth, surprised. " I didn't know you would be this handsome, I thought– " She paused and looked at him, him at her " I thought you Ghosted me " She murmured this time and he just stared at her. " We're not going to stand all day talking, Are we? " He broke the silence and she smiled, " No, we are not " He nods. Walking towards the table she left earlier and pulled out a seat for himself, sitting down. Callie had expected him to pull out a seat for her but seems like he isn't much of a gentleman. Not saying anything, She pulled a seat for herself and then sat on it. Dropping her bag, she looks at him. A waiter walks over to their table " Your orders please, " The waiter said and Callie opened her mouth to say something but was cut short. " We are fine for now, " He said, The waiter looked at Callie and she faked a smile at her. Immediately after the waiter leaves, Callie frowned. " You're 30 minutes late, Why ?? " Callie asked, her tone changed. " Why ?? I don't think I owe you that explanation " He said simply and she stared, taken aback. " Really? Is that how you come late to dates with your exes? " " I don't think we should be having that conversation. Can we just go straight to the point? " " Why? So you expect me to just jump into a relationship with you just because I said you're handsome? " She asked and he scoffed. Callie blinked, surprised by his attitude. " I have other places to be, Let's make this quick," He said simply and she scoffed, rather annoyed. " Nothing is going to be quick if you don't at least tell why you were late or better still, Apologize for your lateness" she muttered and Damien raised his brow at her. " Apologize? To you? " He couldn't help but chuckle and she wondered why he finds it funny. " Yes, A gentleman will do that, A gentleman will also pull out a chair for a lady," Callie said, still keeping her stand and just that sentence irritated him. " Look girl, Or whatever, You're in urgent need of a boyfriend, I'm in urgent need of a fake girlfriend. Our needs are quite related so can we just cut the long story short and get this over with ?? " Callie couldn't believe her ears, Most especially how he talked to her " Girl? Fake girlfriend? " Callie scoffed knowing this wasn't working out for her. " You are unbelievable " She adds feeling hurt " If you're looking for a guy who will pull out a chair for you, apologizes because he's late for a date, committed to you, or even ask you out to dinner when you're mad, Then I say you found the wrong guy, I don't fancy girls who are interested in a bed of roses," Damien said simply and she swallows knowing he had just listed all she needed in a man and he not being able to render her that, did nothing but break her heart. " What do you fancy then? Girls who slay around like a w***e? Girls that don't give a damn if their man is sleeping around? Or girls that are just as crazy as you are? " " You think I'm crazy? " He asked " I don't think so. I know !" Callie spat and he smiled, lifting a shoulder. " Nah, We both know I'm perfect " he uttered and she looked at him, she tucked in a strand of hair and looked back at him. Yes, He's handsome and has blue eyes but she wouldn't let that get to her for she can't deal with his arrogance. "As you said, I've got the wrong man, This was a total waste of time," Callie said and grabs her bag, She stands up " It wasn't nice meeting you! " She blurted and with that, She left the restaurant and he couldn't help but watch her leave bemused. Driving off and heading back home, Callie knew she might regret it later … Something tells her she would; Today makes it 2 more days to go before her time-lapse. She has been given a month to find a spouse, a lover, or at least a boyfriend, 3 good weeks had passed yet she has found no one, All of them were either assholes or lowlifes and now today, a day she prayed to favor her, Look how it turned out for her. " I'm such bad luck, No one wants me"Callie muttered feeling utterly bad for herself. If only Martin hadn't ghosted her, wouldn't she be free of the stress? But No, He Ghosted her the one time she needed him, How fair is that? Pulling the car to a halt, Callie gets down from her car and dragged her feet into the mansion. Slumping on the couch, a lady walked down the stairs as she spoke to someone over the phone " I will call you later, " The lady said, taking the last step. Ending the call, She sights Callie and she smiled but it disappeared immediately she saw her Friend was moody. " Hey, What's wrong ?? " Is everything okay " Julie asked, her voice evident of concern " My life is upside down Julie, Am I cursed?" Callie asked between sobs " Of Course not. Why would you say something like that? " " Why won't anyone want me? Why can't I meet someone that will respect me? That will adjust to my wants. Why can't a gentleman find me? " Callie said looking at her friend who didn't know what to say " Why? How was your date? Wasn't it good? Is he like the rest? Did he -" " No, He's different. He didn't lie about his name nor look, He was what he said he is" Callie said and Julie furrowed her eyebrows still not getting what happened. " Then what's the problem? You both should have talked at least and maybe started dating " " That's what I thought, I mean. He's handsome, and his look tells he's of good status but he's " " He's what Callie? " Julie asked and she bit her lip, " He's rude Julie, Very rude and arrogant! He was 30 minutes late and couldn't even apologize for that, He didn't pull out a chair for me, He didn't even ask what I would like to take, He dismissed the waiter and – " He didn't even compliment my look nor dressing " Callie added sadly and Julie felt bad for her friend " How many days do you have left? " Julie asked after so much silence " Two days Julie, Two days before I'm married off to a total stranger," Callie said in frustration " Let's go to a party then? Clear your head, You still have 72 Hours to be single, not married " Julie said and she shakes her head " No, I'm fine. I will just cry myself to bed with my pathetic life " " Hey, don't say that. And who knows, You might find your perfect match " Julie insisted and Callie gave it a second thought. "I could use a bottle of vodka, " Callie muttered and Julie smiled.
