Heavyn's POV
I see Prince Devin take a few deep breaths after the altercation with those other women. I wonder what he could be thinking of at the moment. I want to see if he is alright, but nervous to ask. But, here goes nothing.
"Um, Prince Devin? Are you alright?" I asked.
"Oh yes I am alright. And please call me another name, instead of my title," he said. I sighed. I guess I have to play along for the public tonight.
"Alright, love. I will. Would you like something to eat?" I asked.
He smiled happily. I giggle slightly and clear my throat. "That will be nice. Whatever you bring me will be fine, but nothing with dairy in it. Okay? I am allergic to it," he said.
I smiled and nodded. I head over to the buffet table and ask around for a dish that is non-dairy from the chef and they gladly hand me the prepared dish that is non - dairy. I grab something for myself and begin heading over to him. I see him with another woman laughing and talking.
They seem really close and I don't know why my heart feels like it wants to break into little pieces. If I'm supposed to be playing along with him because I still think that we should not be with them. I see something that stops me in my tracks fully. The woman stands on her tiptoes and kisses him on the cheek and lips slowly. I see him stand there with no intent to push her away from him. I see the queen looking at them and then at me. She is looking at me with a tear in her eye. She begins to head over to me but I shake my head calmly.
I place the dishes down onto a nearby table. The ladies of that table stare at me with a surprised look on their faces.
"Are you alright? You look faint," one of them asked sincerely. She steps beside me and begins rubbing my back gently. I take a few deep breaths. I nodded. "Oh yes, I am alright. Thank you love. Do you know where the nearest and secret exit is?" I asked. She sighed and nodded.
"Follow me, love. You shouldn't have to see this," she said.
We quickly yet quietly head to the nearest exit and I see Destiny with Prince Rex. She comes over to me.
"Where are you going, sis? Are you alright? What happened?" she asked, concerned.
I shake my head to not worry her. "Everything is alright. I am just tired. Want to head to the palace to check on mom and dad and rest. I want you to stay and have a good time, alright? No discussion about this, got it?" I said. She nodded.
"We can head out now. Once again, thank you for helping me. I appreciate your kindness. I never caught your name though," I said.
"My name is Princess Charlotte. I am close to the palace also. We should hang out one day soon after we get you out of here. How does that sound?" she says. I smiled and nodded.
"That sounds nice. I'll give you my cell number for us to coordinate a date and time, okay?" I say, giving her my number. She texts me her number and I save it.
"Well, here you are. Out and unseen. Want me to tell you what happened afterwards? With them?" she asked.
"Um... sure. You can if you'd like too," I said. She waved bye and I head into the called Lyft I had waiting for me. I get back to the palace in around 20 minutes' time. I see my mother and father sleeping on the bed and shut the door quietly. I will see them tomorrow then.
I head into my room and quickly get out of my dress. I head into the shower and change into my nightgown as I get out. I place my dress back onto Prince Devin's bed and head out quickly and shutting his door. I go into my room and lay down to think about what I just saw. I wonder who that female could be to him? Maybe an old flame? Someone that he should be with? He didn't push her away when she kissed him in public either.
Why am I asking these questions? I obviously shouldn't care as I am not the one he wants to be with. And he knows this. Now, more than ever. I don't need him to regret anything because of me. About 30 minutes later, I hear the front door opening. I hear footsteps coming up the steps and towards my door. I thought it was Destiny, so I called out her name when they knocked on the door. No answer. I slowly head over to the door and open it. There, he stood.
"Why did you leave? Why didn't you answer your phone when I called you more than once?!" he asked, frustrated. I gasped and head to look at my phone. I saw 10 missed calls from him and texts as well. I sighed.
"My bad. I was tired so I just caught a Lyft back here. I didn't think it would have been a problem to leave early," I said. He sighed.
"It's alright. Please don't scare me like that. I didn't know what to do or where to look for you," he said. He looks distraught and I am not sure why.
"Did you really even look for me or check if I had caught you?" I mutter to myself.
"What did you say? I didn't hear you," he asked. I shook my head.
"I didn't say anything important. Sorry," I say back. I check my phone and a headline pops up on my screen.
'PRINCE DEVIN SEEN KISSING ANOTHER OLD FLAME AT THE ROYAL BALL! IN FRONT OF HIS NEW FIANCE!'
I quickly turn off my phone screen. And I want that to be the end of all this scandalous news. No luck with him standing in front of me.
