Rescued by the Prince

Heavyn's POV

I notice Destiny coming back to her room and see that Prince Rex left her after they talked a while ago. I go ask her what she had talked about with him. 

She turns to face me and says, "He said that we were still their dates to the Royal Ball tonight and then he did something that I never imagined. First, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him, but I never gave him an answer anyway. Then, he... after he said we were their dates for tonight, he kissed me and walked away. I was shocked," she said. I gasped. 

"He kissed you? What did you do after? After he left? And how do you feel?" I asked. 

"I couldn't do anything. I was too shocked that it had actually happened as it did and so I guess I let him do it," she said.

 I see Prince Devin looking at me across the hallway and I head to shut the bedroom door. I can't let our feelings get the best of us. Even if we are still going to be their dates to the Royal Ball tonight. 

"Head to shower and get cleaned up. I believe that they left us our dresses in our closets this morning," I said. She nodded her head and leaves the room. 

I see Prince Devin heading in my direction. I get nervous and try to shut the door but he calls out to me.

 "Leave that door open! We need to talk, Heavyn," he says. I leave the door as he asked. I just head to sit down on the bed. He enters and shuts the bedroom door.

 "Yes, what can I do for you, Your Highness? Did you need anything? We were just about to get ready for tonight," I said, nervously. 

"Yes, I wanted to know why you said what you said back there about our marriage proposals?" he asked. I noticed how serious he is. "Because it is true. We cannot marry you both, because we're not compatible in any way possible," I said. He clenches his fists and jaws. 

"Guess what? We have a surprise for the both of you tonight at the ball, so feel free to get prepared for that and we'll see you shortly, alright? Hope you enjoy our dress choices for you two," he said, on his way out the door. 

I sighed. I get up, head into the bathroom to shower and stand there while letting the water run on me while trying to clear my mind. 'What kind of surprise are they planning tonight?' I think to myself. 'I will warn Destiny,' I mutter to myself. 

I head out of the bathroom and find the gown they picked out for me to wear tonight. It is a rather expensive-looking gown. It is burgundy, strapless gown. I put it on and find it to be my size and I find it rather gorgeous and that I look nice in it. But, it is too much. I head to the mirror and see myself.

 'This is a lot of cleavage for me, should I let them know?' I ask myself. I get dressed and prepped fully and head to the dining room and find the princes and their parents there talking. I feel a hand on my lower back, and turn to see Destiny. She looks just as amazing as me as we are in similarly designed gowns. 

The Queen notices us first and we are nervous and shy. I rub my arm trying to calm my nerves.

 "Oh my goodness, you both look amazing! You sons of mine picked the right gowns for them! This showcases their beauty!" she cried out. "This gown is rather expensive and shows too much of skin," I said, shyly. 

The Queen smiled and giggled. "Dears, we think you both look stunning and shall have you keep these gowns no matter what," she said. We gasped. 

"Good evening everyone! Tonight is our 6th annual Royal Ball being held! There is a slight change to tonight's schedule though," Prince Rex announces. The guests are all looking around in confusion. 

"It's nothing bad, in case you're wondering. It is actually a good thing," he clarified. We took a deep breath. 

"We were engaged to the Princesses of Lincona, but incidents happened where they had to leave and we no longer are engaged to them.They will not be our queens," he said. 

The crowd gasped in shock. 

"But, lo and behold, we have found two other wonderful ladies to call our brides. They are not from a royal family, but they are the ones that we have come to love. Please help us give a warm round of applause to Destiny and Heavyn," he said. 

We looked as the crowd looks at us and claps with smiles on their faces. A few women are not happy but we don't mind it because who does. Not after what we have been through and plus, what they just announced in public. The king and queen look at us and smiled. Prince Devin has a smirk on his face and is looking at me.

 'Why did you do this?' I mouthed to him. 

'Because we want you both. To be ours,' he mouthed back. 

'We will talk later,' I mouthed back. 

Destiny sees my expression and asks, "Are you alright? What should we do? They have announced in public and we can't say no, because it will be embarrassing for them and us here," she asked, worried.

 "Don't worry. We will talk to them in the palace when we head back, okay?" I said, reassuring her. She nodded her head. 

Prince Devin and Prince Rex head over to us. We just stay there beside their parents until they finally reach us. "Liked our surprise? We told you both that we had a big surprise for you tonight, did you like it? Now you cannot say no to us because the public has known it and has acknowledged you both," Prince Rex says confidently. 

"Not all of them; some of your lady friends are not happy with the news and what do you plan on doing about this?" I said. 

"Nothing. As it has nothing to do with us," Prince Devin said.
