When Trent asked if anyone wanted dessert, Krista shook her head. “I’m not sure I can finish this fruit”. She speared the last strawberry and set down her fork, leaving two pieces of watermelon and a chunk of cantaloupe. “I can finish it for you,” Trent said. Amanda huffed. “That’s not polite.” This made Krista chuckle. “It’s all right. I don’t mind.” The tall waitress with the permanent smile gave them their check.” Thank you for coming in. Be sure and come back soon.” “We will,” Amanda said. Their little group collected at the cash register and Trent paid the tab. The day had warmed to be comfortable in coats as they walked to the car.
