A DRESS TO THE FUTURE

Joel!! could you come down and help me unpack? You're really getting on my nerves these days young man, Grace yelled as she took down a box from the van outside. Joel frowned a bit before jumping up from his bed and started walking down the stairs lazily. He got to the yard and saw his mom struggling with a box in the van. Well don't just stand there, help me! Grace yelled in a whisper, as she was holding her breath cause of the weight of the box. They unpacked the boxes which was filled with home appliances and kitchen utensils. Joel remained quiet as they emptied each box. You know, grace broke the silence, you need to start behaving like a man rather than being a childish child. Mom...... Come on, are we going to go through this again? I came here to clear my head and have a quiet time, Joel said. Can we not talk about this? Besides I'm not a childish child, if that's even a word, he mumbled. You're 28 for goodness sake! Who runs away from important issues to be with his mom just because he saw his best friend kissing his girlfriend? Grace said looking at her son who's already wearing a frown. Mom you're just unbelievable, joel said. Was it a crime that I told you what happened or did you expect me to remove their heads, hang it on a stick and bring it home saying " hey Mom I caught my best friend and my girlfriend kissing, and I brought their heads as a piece offering for your evening dinner"? Joel added. Jeez.... Joel what's wrong with you? I never said that. All I'm trying to say is that you should have faced them and demanded for an explanation. Grace said. Mom, I can handle my own issues and I'll handle this my own way. Joel said. I can see how you're handling it my dear boy. You're doing so well hiding in ya Mama's house. Grace said laughing. Joel watched his mother in disbelief. Mom, you're just so unbelievable. Women! Joel yelled softly as he stood up and started walking towards the stairs. Joel, launch will be ready in 20 minutes, Grace said to her son who was already halfway the stairs. Got it. Joel replied and kept walking.
