Finding the One True Alpha

Chapter 5- The Discussion; Audra POV

The next morning, we wake up to my dad banging on the door “get up you two we have company and things to discuss.” I groan and close my eyes again I am almost back asleep when Saint pulls me up and out of bed and puts me in the shower. I look up at him and give him my mad face. He starts to laugh “Your cute when your mad but we have to get up and get ready.” I roll my eyes and finish showering and get out as Saint is finishing up. I walk over to the sink and brush my teeth and pull out a spare tooth brush for Saint to use. We finish in the bathroom and go to my room to get dressed. I pull on my favorite pair of jeans and a t-shirt with my slip-on converse. Saint has on his jeans and a plain black shirt and his boots. We go out of my room and bump into Mason and Morgan in the hallway. Morgan and I grin at each other and walk down the stairs. Once we get to the bottom, I smell the bacon and the pancakes and take off running leaving the rest of them in the dust. When I make it to the kitchen I slow down and realize there is more than the normal people eating with us. It seems the other alphas have shown up as well.  

When I woke up that morning laying next to Saint it was the best feeling in the world. I rolled over to face him and of course he was already awake. “Good morning Sweets how did you sleep?” I move closer to him and snuggle into his chest “it was the best sleep I have had in a long time.” He smiles at me and leans in for a kiss I get excited thinking we are about to go for another round there is a nock on my door “time to wake up you two we have guest downstairs” my dad said through the door. I groan and Saint laughs and pulls me up and we shower together not as fun as the first time but still so much better than showering alone. We get dressed and head downstairs. When we get downstairs we hear a lot of voices coming from the kitchen so we head that way. When we get in the kitchen we see Nate, Austin, and JJ stuffing their faces and they look up I start laughing. When we got our food and went to the dining room we were meet with more faces. The alphas from the other 5 packs were there as well. I look at my dad “what’s going on? Why is everyone here?” My dad looks at me and by the look on his face I know I am not going to like his response “they are here to discuss the alliance and the challenge. Some things have changed now that a few of you have found your mates” I look back at Saint and he is not happy I can feel his emotions storming inside of him but he is not going to say anything “why do things have to change since some of us found our mates. Why does it matter. We are all on level playing field it won’t change a thing. I don’t understand.” My dad stands up with the other alphas “eat your breakfast then come to the conference room so we can finish this discussion.” I feel Saint move and sit down and pull me to him I sit on his lap. I know he can feel what I’m feeling and he tries to calm me down. Just his touch helps he makes me look at him “I know you are not going to like what they are about to tell us in there but you need to eat so we can train today. Whatever they tell us we will get through it together I am here for you just as you are for me we are equal” he kisses me and I feel better. I nod and start eating. I can feel the tension in the room as we eat in silence everyone in their own thoughts. Saint still holding me afraid of what I might do if he lets me go. Morgan is looking at giving me the are you ok look. I give her a little smile and nod at her. She nods back and leans into Mason I know the guys are all tense as well. When we get done eating we all put our plates in the sink and go to the conference room at the other end of the house. Morgan gives me a hug and kisses Mason and tries to leave but he pulls her with him. I guess Morgan is going in as well.. JJ knocks on the door and opens it. JJ, Nate, Austin, and Mason walk in first Saint pulls me back and gives me a kiss and then we walk in together holding hands in a united front. My dad nods for us to sit down in the last two chairs at the other end of the table. Since no one starts talking I ask “so what do you need to talk to us about? We need to start training for the first challenge so if we could speed this up that would be great.” My dad and the other alphas look at me then Saints dad and my dad share a look I know I’m not going to like this “Audra we think that since you and Saint are mates you should sit out of the competition since you are going to be future Luna of the White Wood Pack and the Crescent Moon Pack. I know this is not what you wanted and this is not what we planned but we think it’s best. Alpha James and I have already laid out a treaty to combine the two packs so Saint will be alpha of both since you are my only heir.” I am fuming I am so mad at my father right now I have no words. I look at Saint and I can see he is mad as well but also conflicted because he thinks he needs to protect me. I stand up and look at him “do you feel this is a good idea? I would chose your answer very carefully if I were you.” He looks at me with those green eyes that I love and gathers his thoughts “As your mate I am concerned about you competing with us I would prefer for you to stay home where I know you are safe. I also know that is not who you are you are strong and independent and can think for yourself. You have been training for this your whole life. I am not going to stop you and I don’t think our fathers should either but I will tell you if you get seriously hurt or injured I am pulling you and I will compete for both packs.” I look at him I cannot be totally mad at his response but I still don’t like it. I am not some china doll that needs to be handled delicately I have alpha blood in me ugh men. “Ok I can work with that but I need you all to understand I am not some breakable china doll I am strong. I know that because the first time I met Saint and we spared he landed on his ass. No offense love.” I looked over at Saint his face was blushing from embarrassment but I could tell he was proud. Our fathers on the other hand look exasperated. I could tell my dad has aged some in this moment. We made eye contact and he looked conflicted. He turned to Alpha James “what do you think about what they said?” He looked the same like my father “I am not happy with it but I know my son and I believe in what he says. I know Audra can handle herself I can feel her power all the way over here. After hearing what she had to say and the way she stood up for herself and called all of us out I think we should let her compete. I think we should test her too from what you said last night after her shift I don’t think she is a normal wolf. I think she has more power that needs to be discovered. I know you all can feel her power for someone who just had her first shift last night she should not be this strong already but she is. We need to look at this as an advantage that we didn’t have before.” I smiled at him and bowed my head in respect. The other Alphas in the room nodded in agreement. Of course it would be JJ who has to be the last one to say something “I am glad y’all are letting her compete but I’m getting this out now I do not volunteer to be her test dummy for her powers I saw what she did to Saint before she had her wolf I don’t want to be on the receiving end of that now.” He grinned at me and I laughed so hard you could feel the mood in the room lighten up. JJ’s dad Alpha Nick looked at his son and said “since you were the first one to say something son you definitely are going to be her first test dummy.” Alpha Nick was laughing at his son who looked like he was going to be sick.

 My dad brought the room back to the conversation at hand while still laughing. “Now that we got that discussion out of the way let’s talk about your challenges. Your first challenge will be in a weeks time and it will be here since you are all here now. Each week it will be at another pack and you guys will stay there and train until the challenge and then move onto the next one. You will train every day for the specific challenge that you will be faced with that week. Audra you will train longer than the others since we need to work on your powers and see what you can do. I will say this to all of you it will be a long and hard process but at the end you will have all proven your worth and shown the packs why you are alphas.” I feel relived that Saint and I will be together the whole time but then I remembered Mason and Morgan are mates she needs to come with us to be with him. “Dad Morgan and Mason are mates we cannot split them up for that long can Morgan come with us?” My dad looked to Mason’s dad Alpha Roman “Is that ok with you Alpha? Did you know that your son found his mate yesterday?” Alpha Roman looked at Mason happily “I don’t mind I am glad he found out future Luna. Your mother is going to be proud son.” He looked over at Morgan who I forgot was in the room with us she was holding onto Mason’s hand for dear life. “Welcome to the family little one you are beautiful and my son is lucky to have you. My wife will love you I just know it.” Morgan smiles at him and bows her head in respect “thank you alpha I really appreciate it I cannot wait to meet her and your pack thank you for accepting me.” He nods back and my dad says “now we have a few more things to iron out you kids are free to go and make yourselves comfortable you will be here for the next week. The omegas are sorting out your rooms now and will show them to you. Get changed and head down for your first round of training.” We all nod and say yes alpha and leave the room. Once we were down the hall I looked at JJ who still was not happy about the situation he brought upon himself “so are u ready to start training today JJ I sure am I think it’s going to be fun don’t you?” He looked at me “no I’m not I feel my impending death coming and it’s going to hurt” I gave him a sinister smile “I won’t go that hard on you I promise.” He looked like he didn’t believe me I wouldn’t have either and ran off to his room. The others were laughing and we all divided off and got ready. I looked at Saint “you ready for this babe?” He looked at me “I think so I think this is going to be a fun adventure and I get to have you with me every step of the way. But just so you know you will lose.” He gave me a evil smile and I whacked him with my pillow on the bed “whatever you say love let’s change and get ready to have some fun.” Once we got to the training ground I looked at Saint and said “I love you” he looked over “I love you too.” Then the fun began.
