Chapter 4- The Party and the Shift; Audra POV

       Party day is here and I wake up super excited besides the fact that I have a headache which I guess is normal according to my dad. He said that is my wolf trying to come through. I hear this voice inside my head that is not mine “hey girl I am so happy to finally meet you my name is Jewel. I am your other half the part that you could feel in the back of your mind but never reach. I have been forming waiting for the day I could finally meet you.” I do a mini dance my wolf has the coolest name. “Hi Jewel I am so excited to meet you as well. Today is party day are you ready to dance we are going all out.” I feel her growl and start to get excited “you know I am girl we are going to be the hit of the party and so gorgeous.” Just then my phone starts to ring its Saint. “Happy Birthday sweets are you ready for your party?” I do am mini girlish scream “Yes I am so ready! Saint I just met my wolf and she is so cool. Her name is Jewel I cannot wait to shift and see what she looks like.” He laughs “that so awesome sweets I remember when I met my wolf Cody. It was a feeling like no other and now it is so normal to have him I forgot what it felt like to not have him. I am going to let you go I just wanted to be the first one to wish you happy birthday. I am the first one right?” I smile “yes you are I think my dad and Morgan are downstairs ready for my birthday breakfast so you are the first one to wish me happy birthday.” I can feel his smirk like he just one “good I will see you later tonight sweets have fun getting ready for your party I cannot wait to see you.” “Ok bye Saint I will see you tonight.” I hang up the phone and do a mini dance and get dressed for breakfast. When I get downstairs I was correct in my assumptions of my birthday breakfast. Dad and Morgan are both there waiting for me. Sandy made my favorite for breakfast chocolate chip waffles with whip cream, bacon, eggs, and hash browns. My dad and Morgan both wish me happy birthday and see me beaming. “Ok why are you smiling so hard girl spill the beans. Is it because you already talked to Saint this morning? If he was the first one I am going to be so mad as best friend that is my right and responsibility.” I start laughing “yes Morgan I did talk to Saint so sorry he was the first one to wish me happy birthday today. You can argue with him tonight about it and give him your attitude. I also met my wolf. Her name is Jewel and she is so cool. I love her.” I look up and my dad is smiling kind of misty eyed but then wipes it away. He is not a very sentimental man so for him that was a lot. “Oh pumpkin I am so proud of you. I have been waiting for this day for a long time. How are you feeling do you still have a headache?” “no dad I am fine it went away after talking to Jewel and Saint. I am really hungry though can we eat now?” They both laugh and we dig into breakfast and devour all the food. After breakfast Morgan’s mom set up a whole day of pampering for us. We got massages, pedicures, manicures, and we got our hair done and our makeup ; of course on the hair and makeup we threw in some neon colors for tonight. We went up to my room to get ready because it was bigger than Morgan’s and closer to the party tent. Now I had no idea what Morgan picked out for me to wear but I was definitely nervous. When I saw what she wanted me to wear my jaw dropped my dad was never going to let me out of the house in that outfit. It was a neon pink bikini top with a neon rainbow fence net bodysuit to go over it, and white hi waisted lace up the sides shorts that would show a little bit of my ass at the bottom and white slip on vans. “Morgan my dad is never going to let me out of the house wearing that.” She smirked “then it’s a good thing he is going to be confined to his office or his bedroom all night. Him and my mom made a deal and he will not bother us until it is time for your first shift at midnight.” I smiled “ok let’s do this Saint is going to flip when he see’s me in this.” Morgan gives me a shocked face “I didn’t even think of that. He is going to go nuts it’s going to be hilarious.” We get dressed and and head down to the party it’s about 7:15. We can hear the music from the house when we get to the tent and get inside I am shocked Morgan and her mom really out did themselves. This tent is massive and it has strobe lights, fog machines, and bubble machines. There is a DJ and a huge bar stocked with alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. We get to the reserved part that is marked off for me and my friends and immediately start to dance. There are a few girls from school that come over and hang out with us. I have never had so much fun before. A few minutes later my phone goes off and I look at it. It’s from Saint he is here with the guys I show it to Morgan and she does a little scream then we star to dance again waiting for them. I can feel his presence and smell him before I can see him. He smells so good like earth, and fresh rain mixed with man. It was intoxicating to say the least. Morgan is looking around to like she smells something I look at her and she mouths the word mate. I slowly look around the room as well and it seems that all eyes are on us in the corner. I glare at everyone and they get back to what they were doing but still trying to focus on our situation. Saint reaches for me and I go to him, he growls in my ear “you look hot as f**k but you need to change. I am very possessive of what’s mine and you are mine. I don’t like all these people staring at you.” I laugh and Jewel starts to go crazy I tell her to simmer down the night is still young. “I know I am yours as you are mine I could sense you and smell you before I could see you. But I am not going to change you might be my mate but you w cannot and will not control me. We will be equals in this relationship. I knew what I was getting myself into when I put this on but it is my party and I would like to enjoy it for a bit longer. Are you ok with this if it really bothers you I will go change but know I will be mad at you the rest of the night.” Saint laughs “I knew the moon goddess would give me a strong willed mate but it seems I have met my match. You can stay in what you are wearing but know I will have my hands on you all night.” I smile “I am ok with that.” I look over and it looks like Morgan and Mason are having the same conversation. I knew it. She looks over at me and we smirk at each other. We have been friends for so long we can read each other. We move at the same time and grab hands and move out onto the dance floor knowing our men would follow. I cannot wait until this is all over with and we can have a conversation about our recent love life developments. The four of us dance together for the rest of the night. I look over at Nate, Austin, and JJ they are dancing with Morgan’s and I friends from school. The rest of the night goes on like that and we are all really happy. Around eleven Morgan grabs me “hey we need to go change before it’s time for your first shift and you need to eat.” I nod in agreement “ok I will tell Saint you tell Mason. All the guys can some with us to change and eat I think they are planning on staying for my first shift anyways.” Morgan goes to Mason and I go to Saint and we tell them our plan. They round up the guys and head to their cars to get there change of clothes then come inside with us. We go up to my room and the guest rooms, I show Nate, Austin, and JJ where they can change while Morgan and Mason are grabbing her things to go to the other guest room. When they leave my room Saint and I go in to change. Once he closes the door he rushes to me and pulls me into a kiss. I am shocked at first but then I respond with like fierceness. It feels like I need him to be able to live and breathe he is my other half my mate.

Saint’s hands roam all over my body undressing me and before I knew what was going on I was undressed and he was carrying me to the bathroom “you looked really hot tonight sweets but I want all the neon colors off of you and back to normal.” I laughed and he started the shower. My dad looks at me and smiles “Are you ready for this pumpkin?” I smile and nod. I have been waiting for this moment my whole life.

My dad instructs Morgan and Mason to join the others on the side. He pulls me up to his side and I make Saint come with me. “Crescent Moon Pack today we gather to watch and join our future Alpha my daughter do her first shift into her wolf form and fully become a member of this pack. Are you ready to join and welcome this new member into our pack?” “yes alpha!” My dad turns to me I feel Jewel starting to go crazy inside of me she knows what is about to happen. My dad takes out a shiny gold dagger and takes the palm of my hand “Do you Audra take this pack as your family knowing one day you will be its future leader?” “yes alpha” “Will you Audra put this packs needs and interest before your own always doing what is best for the pack?” “I will alpha” My dad cuts his palm with the dagger first then mine bringing our hands together I feel a rush and get lightheaded then a sense of calm like I am right where I am supposed to be. I feel my dad’s voice in my head “Members of the Crescent Moon Pack welcome your new member.” I hear all of these voices saying welcome to the pack and congratulations. My dad leads me to the edge of the woods with the pack and my friends and mate around me. “Audra you have to shift first before the rest of the pack will shift you will lead us tonight.” I nod “yes alpha” he smiles and looks very proud to have me as a daughter I feel happy. “Audra to do your first shift you need to close your eyes and clear your mind think of your wolf let her take over she will know what to do. Let her into your mind and soul feel her she is one with you let her lead now.” I nod at my dad and look at Saint one last time before I shift. I am scared and I know that he can sense my nerves and Jewel going crazy. He looks to my dad for approval then comes to me. He looks into my eyes “You can do this sweets. You are strong and beautiful let Jewel come out. It will hurt for a bit but then it will be the best feeling ever. I will be right here with you the whole time.” I smile up at him and he kisses my forehead and lets me go.

I close my eyes and open up all of my mind to Jewel. She is more than ready to take over. “Its ok girl I got this it will hurt for a bit like our mate said but it is worth it. I imagine that is what you are feeling both of your heritage is coming together you are going to be a very strong and powerful alpha.” I feel Jewel take the lead again. “Lets go run girl and stretch our legs and see what our mates got.” I forgot about Saint. I look at him and he has this look of pure love in his eyes. I feel our bond is stronger now than before. He moves back a bit and then sensing what I was needing he shifts into his wolf. He is massive and has black fur with the golden patches in it. He is beautiful with his green eyes. I can feel him and I feel his pull a moment later I feel him enter my mind I am not sure how because he is not part of our pack. Sensing what I was feeling he talks through the link “you are beautiful sweets. I feel your power it is strong. I bet you are wondering how we can talk to each other. It is because we are mates and now that you have shifted our bond is getting stronger once we complete the mating bond it will be done.” “I thought that was what it was. Jewel wants to talk to Cody now.” He walks over to me and I lick him on his cheek he does the same to me. I can feel Cody now he is in control so I give it up to Jewel and they look at each other like they already know what the other was thinking and then take off running. I am first in the woods and I can feel him behind me with my dad and the rest of the pack.

I break off from the pack after my dad takes the lead and Saint follows. We run for what seems like hours really it was only two. We wound up by the lake and laid there basking in the moonlight. I feel playful so I get up and go over to the water and jump in and come walk back up next to Saint and shake off getting him wet he growls and looks at me. I look at him and take off running again I hear Saint catching up to me. He jumps on top of me and licks my face I can feel our wolfs appreciating spending time with each other. My dad and the others are in the kitchen Saint stops off and tells them we are going to bed. Good night” I tell her as Saint takes me up the stairs and into my room. He lays me on the bed and takes off his shoes and shirt leaving on his shorts. He grabs me and pulls me to him draping his arm over me possessively and we drift off to sleep.
