A Siren's Call

JADE POV We shared a true love story but despite this one thing still lacked because we couldn't have children of our own. Over the past few years I've told myself that everything would be alright and some kind of miracle would happen but that wasn't the case. "When are you finally going to find a real woman Adam?" My mother in law inquired even though I wasn't supposed to be evasdropping on their conversation but since it concerned me I might as well just stick around and hear what mother in law dearest has to say. "Mother we've talked about this multiple times and I won't repeat myself Jade is my wife and she's not going anywhere." "We've both gone to the doctor just like you wanted and the doctor had assured us that nothing is wrong with us we just have to be patient." Maria scoffed furiously. " It's been three years ever since yoh married that useless woman Adam and I want to see results and if not I'm going to find a suitable woman from you." " You'll have no choice but to send Jade packing out of this house whether you like it or not and more over she won't get a single penny from you after the divorce. " " I know Jade only only married you because of your money. " " Mother I've had enough of this we can't have a baby of our own then we can always adopt one end of story but my wife stays here and I won't allow you to have the last say especially if it concerns my marriage. " " So I'm assuming that you've made your decision?" " Unfortunately yes and you won't like it either." A painful sob escaped my lips before I could stop myself. Adam saw me and ran after me once we were in our room he held both of my hands as he wiped my tears away. "Adam your mother is right maybe you should just forget about me because I'm not woman enough for you." "What about my feelings Jade?" "How am I going to cope without you? Besides you're the love of my life and there's no way I'm going to let you walk out of my because my mother says so." "Tomorrow is our wedding anniversary and I want to see you happy and smiling because I've planned something special just for the both of us consider it our little romantic getaway." I thew my hands him hugging tightly. Once we were back in the kitchen his mother was gone but I Knew that she wasn't happy with Adam's decision. Later that night I made dinner for the both of us but my made was somewhere else maybe Adam's mother's words had finally gotten to me because I needed a baby more than anything. But I decided to push the negative thoughts away as the morning came by it was our anniversary and Adam as usual had surprised me with a romantic breakfast in bed. "Good morning dear happy anniversary." I let out a yawn and smiled at my loving husband. "You know Adam you don't always have to do this for me it always makes me feel bad because I never get to do anything special for you." He placed the tray on the bed next to me. Nonsense sweetheart you always do a lot of special things for me. You make happy, make me smile, make my meals and most importantly fill my life with a lot of colour's. " " Okay then I insist that we share this breakfast because this is too much and I can't finish this all by myself. " " It would be a same if all your hard went to waste." As we shared our breakfast I decided that I would give my surprise gift to Adam during our vacation I just hope that he would love because it was done on such short notice and I don't know if he's not even going to approve. Later after our flight we arrived at mount Fiji it was truly paradise on earth. And I loved every bit of it. "So what do you think of my surprise?" Adam asked looking pleased with himself. "Adam this is very beautiful and expensive it didn't have to do all this I would have been happy with a small dinner hosted at our apartment with out family and friends present." Suddenly Adam looked rather disappointed. "I was sure that you would certainly love this but I guess my surprise wasn't good enough dear I'm sorry I'll do better next time." The last thing I wanted to do was to hurt Adam after he went to all lengths just to please me and here I am instead of thanking him and appreciating him I am ungrateful. "Adam I didn't mean to make you feel upset of course I love the surprise because I've always wanted to come here ever since we got married." I cupped one of my cheeks. "This is the best surprise I could ever ask for thank you." "You deserve the best Jade and I just want to make sure that you're happy because I don't want to lose you." I smiled at him. " Well you're not losing me anytime soon because you're stuck me." Adam entwined our hands. Placing a soft kiss on the bridge of my nose. " And this is the reason why I chose you Jade it's always been you and I'll make sure that it stays that way." ADAM POV I knew that Jade didn't want me to spend money on her lavishly because of what my mother had said earlier. But Jade is the reason I've made a success of myself because years I was a nobody but Jade saw something me even though she was out of my league. Jade came from a rich family when I met her at highschool naturally I was good with machines and stuff that involved building. One day Jade found me working on one of my crazy inventions and she seemed genuinely impressed. It was hard to believe because Jade usually hang out the popular girls who acted they had half a brain but she was different because Jade was smart and beautiful. Our relationship started off as friends and everyone hated that a rich girl like her was hanging out with me. Jade and I didn't pay attention the haters and as the years went by our friendship began to bloom into a beautiful flower that lead to the existence of our love. Jade's father's company had lost everything they had and become bankrupt they had to move into a smaller house next to ours. And when Jade's popular friends found out about this they didn't want to be associated with her and made Jade an outcast. But as her best friend I was always there for her and supported her dreams because Jade wanted to be an interior designer. After graduating she got a job immediately because of her outstanding work. When she saw that I was struggling with my job she offered me her savings so that I could start my own company and this is why I am thankful to have Jade as my wife because we've come a long way together and I wasn't going to let her go anytime soon after all she was the love of my life.
