A cold suspicious air flowed in all directions. The quivering continues as the icy breezes comes in contact to Matthew's skin. He had only worn a half sleeved yellow t-shirt with plain white stripes . '' How long will it take to reach home? '' There was an itch of irritation in his tone. Summer felt it but she continued her pace anyway, towards the destination she addressed home. They came close to a side road where the grey fog blinded their view. '' I can't see! '' Mathew squealed. A warm hand came from nowhere as it dragged him out of there. Matthew's vision clears when he stands right in front of the cemetery. The black antique gate was already open as the fall leaves were draped all over it. The roads around him were absolutely vacant. '' Where are we? '' Mathew had a deja vu. He knows this place. '' Let's sit here. '' Summer tells as she walked up to one of the trees standing beside a gravestone. 'First summoning a devil and now the graveyard. What more danger is this girl gonna get me into?' His inside screams but he doesn't dare to blurt out. Summer freezes her gaze at him. He obeys her look sitting beside her after removing the auburn leaves. '' Matt.. '' She whispered. A sudden color of unhappiness brushes off her face. She settled her eyes down saying, '' Sometimes, do you feel like you are trapped, trapped from the inside? And there's nothing, absolutely nothing that can pull you out.'' The memories were flushing back. Mathew closed his eyes promptly blocking them. He reopens in a second replying, '' Everyday, I feel that everyday. '' He starts to think before saying something. '' Um.. '' But, the harsh truth was chaining him down. Will she understand? He had no real friends, no company, no one to sway his pain away. He exhales a long breath beginning, '' My mom... I love her so much. '' Summer listened carefully. '' But,certain things, certain realities of life is so tough that you never know when a happy family can turn to ashes. You never know the dad who used to wake up in the morning making breakfast for his wife and child is gonna attempt to kill them someday. You never know what can happen tommorow. If you will wake up to see her again. If you will see her smile again. '' Summer was smart enough to not question. She placed her hand on his blaming the fresh wounds.'' And all of this is just happening for that one man. '' Summer rotates her position as her hair falls covering one side of her face. '' Then, what do plan to do, to change this truth? '' Mathew sighs looking down, '' Nothing. '' '' Seriously? '' Summer stood up enraged pulling her hand that was resting down there before. '' You want to do nothing? '' Mathew nods affirming hopelessly. '' You are such a coward Matt! Just like your dad. '' ''What?'' The memories took over completely and anger invaded his body. He was in flames while exclaiming, '' Don't you dare say that! I am nothing like my dad. '' '' No you are! You just don't realize it yet. '' She says aggressively. Mathew walked towards her to glare more closely. But pacing towards her direction a stick was lying on his way. He stepped his foot upon it as it broke down with a creak. Not balancing he was about to fall but Summer steadied him up. He finally calmed down, perfectly tranquil. '' Matt denying the truth won't help you to forget. If you really love your mom you have to say yes, '' Summer's spoke honestly. '' Yes to what? '' Matthew was confused yet again.
'' Yes to the change you are about to bring. Yes, to the new fresh amazing future. ''
'' And agreeing will just fix everything? ''
'' Agreeing is the very first step!''
She says as she losses her grip of his shoulder sliding her hands down. '' Okay... I agree. '' He said not realizing what he just did. Mathew had brought a storm upon him. A storm that was capable to change the present, past and future. Summer immediately had a smile on her face. '' I am happy for you and I wish you the best. '' She says walking by him. The wind became more cold as if the air was battling with the weather. The sky was already dark. The sun was setting and each second seemed horrifying for Mathew. '' Should we get to your home before it gets late? '' Summer doesn't face him while she inhales the air with her chin up peering at the soft grey clouds. '' This is my home. '' He thought she meant the second home. '' What? '' Summer turned around and stared him with a anomalous twist to her blushed lips. '' What? '' Mathew asks muddled by it . She gyrates her eyeball in the vicinity of the gravestone. Mathew followed it to read the lines. '' Summer Hazethorne 1972-1988 ''
